No casting couch for me-Shraddha Kapoor
0Shakti Kapoor’s daughter Shraddha tackles all those tricky questions about the infamous sting operation
Vickey Lalwani (MUMBAI MIRROR; May 06, 2011)
Shraddha, Shakti Kapoor and Shivangi Kolhapure’s 22-year-old daughter is trying to find a foothold in the big bad world of movies.
With her debut film Teen Patti bombing at the box office, the girl is nervous about her next Luv Ka The End. “Yup, my first film didn’t do well.
And I am nervous about my next, but only when someone asks me about it. You know what, by and large, I am a very positive person,” she quips.
Perhaps, it was her positive attitude that helped Shraddha get over the casting couch scandal her father got involved in. Way back in 2005, Shakti Kapoor in a sting operation was seen propositioning the undercover reporter who posed as an aspiring actress.
He even mentioned names of established actresses and filmmakers, claiming that the casting couch was the unsaid norm in Bollywood. His little daughter has however let bygones be. “It happens to the best, yaar. Life is full of ups and downs.
Eventually everyone comes out of it. If success is temporary, so is failure,” says Shraddha.
But did she have to go through the casting couch as well? “Thankfully, I have never had an indecent proposal. It helps to have parents who have the know-how of the industry,” quips the star child.
Being a star child also helps in bagging good projects, for sure. Says the girl who still has two films to with Yash Raj More >
Salman, Katrina team up for YRF
0After months of media speculation, it’s official now!
Yash Raj Films is pleased to announce its next project. Directed by Kabir Khan and Produced by Aditya Chopra, the romantic-thriller “EK THA TIGER”, stars Salman Khan & Katrina Kaif in the lead roles.
Yash Chopra, speaking about the project, said it was a very happy moment for him. “Everyone knows my association with Salim saab, having worked together on Deewaar, Trishul and Kaala Patthar. It is a very happy moment for me and YRF to have his son Salman with us for the first time. Over the years, Salman has become a very matured and talented actor and both he and the beautiful Katrina have a tremendous connect with their audiences. Combined with Kabir’s edgy directorial skills, we can all look forward to a thrilling film. I really loved the script which is based on a story written by Adi and I am sure that the whole team will do an excellent job on this project.”
Salman Khan was also honoured to be working with YRF for the first time. He said, “In the past Adi and I have met a few times on various projects but somehow, when Kabir and he came to me with this particular story, we all just knew that this was the one. It is a very ambitious project and will be a challenge for all of us, but that’s exactly what makes it such a big draw. Above all this, I’m honoured to be working with Yashji, who has worked so closely with my Dad in the past.””

Show me Aamir’s contract, Sallu tells YRF?
0Meena Iyer (BOMBAY TIMES; April 30, 2011) Even though Salman Khan agreed to work with Aditya Chopra for Kabir Khan’s film, the actor who is childlike and straight-forward is sceptical of working with people outside his own comfort zone. In other words, Salman is happier working with family and close friends because then he doesn’t have to bother with things like remuneration and other details. His family (read: dad Salim Khan) protects him. A source says, “However when it came to drawing up a contract for Adi’s film (read: SRK’s buddy), bhai was hesitant. He allegedly requested his manager to get him a copy of Aamir Khan’s Dhoom-3 contract with the Chopras. Aamir’s contract then became the template for bhai with some minor changes like the actual remuneration figure, release date etc.” Salman and Aamir are very close. They do confer with one another on several personal and professional issues. Neither of the two superstars is comfortable talking about their relationship, however one gets the feeling that they “lookout” for each other.
Why PC refused Kabir Khan’s film
From the start Kabir Khan has been wanting his New York leading lady Katrina Kaif in his film opposite Salman Khan. However, Aditya Chopra and even the hero, Salman, were considering Priyanka Chopra for the female lead. It is said that Salman is ready to grant Adi 120 days to film the thriller. However, he also wanted PC to give 120 days. Salman’s funda is simple. He films More >

I remember watching his diploma film. I loved it so much that I offered him my film. He had a great understanding of cinema. I was sure he would go places.”
Piyush Jha, director of Sikandar, also expressed his grief. He told us, “We were good friends and would often discuss cinema. We also connected as tech savvy people, who would discuss different new technologies related to cinema.

Shenaz Treasurywala on Luv Ka The End
0By Joginder Tuteja, April 23, 2011 – 12:22 IST
After being all cute and nice on television as well as her brief stint with films, Shenaz Treasurywala is now showing the mean side of her. Living up to the adage of ‘killer instincts’, Shenaz is revealing her inner devils by means of her first film as a screenplay writer – Luv Ka The End. Icing on the cake happens to be the fact that the film comes from the house of none less than Yash Raj films.
“It was Yash Raj Films’ idea to make a film around three girls who would be taking revenge on a guy in a course of one night. They commissioned Shenaz to write the film after reading another screenplay that she had written about three girls. However, the girls in the original screenplay were a little older in their late 20s and the setting was more like ‘Sex and the city’ in Mumbai. YRF wanted a young teen flick instead and hence put Shenaz and her partner (Roye Seagal) through a series of tests before finally giving them a green signal for Luv Ka The End “, informs a source attached to the film.
Once Shenaz, a popular VJ and actress in films like Ishq Vishk, Radio and soon-to-be-released Delhi Belly came into picture, she started developing younger characters that were to be played by the likes of Shraddha Kapoor (for whom the film is a re-launch after a disastrous Teen Patti) and her on-screen boyfriend Taaha Shah on whom the revenge is planned. Incidentally this is also the first ever film for which Shenaz has written More >

We came across these images of Imran- Katrina on the sets of the film and must say Katrina does look resplendent as the ‘Dulhan’. Imran too seems comfortable carrying Kat in his arms and the chemistry is surely there for all to see. The shooting is currently on in Agra.

Shenaz pens a YRF film
0VJ-turned actress Shenaz Treasurywala is a multifaceted person. After trying her hands in modelling and acting, the girl has now turned a screenplay and dialogue writer.
She penned down the screenplay and dialogue for Yash Raj’s youth film Luv Ka The End. This is her first film as a screenplay writer.
A friend of Shenaz revealed, “Yash Raj Films commissioned her to write it after reading another screenplay that she had written about earlier.
The girls in her first screenplay were older. It was kind of a Sex And The City in Bombay.
Her original script was called Dreading My Wedding but YRF wanted a young teen flick and they had their own story idea.
They liked her writing style which is young, fast paced with a strong female point of view and so they asked her to write this.”
YRF and Anupam Kher ‘fall out’
0The actor is no longer involved in any of the banner’s underproduction films, tarnishing an association since 1988
Subhash K Jha (MUMBAI MIRROR; April 05, 2011)
I ‘ve no clue why I’m not a part of their recent films. Maybe they don’t need me any more. Maybe I don’t fit into their films,” speculates Anupam Kher about his fallout with Yash Chopra and family.
The actor has been affiliated to the YRF banner since 1988. A mutual friend of Kher and the Chopras gives us an insight into the former relationship, saying, “Ever since they worked together on Chandni, Yash Chopra considered Anupam a close friend and his lucky mascot.
Yashji made sure he cast the actor in pivotal roles and not just his own directorial ventures like Lamhe, Darr and Veer-Zaara. Anupam was also a major part of Yashji’s son Aditya Chopra’s film Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge.”
Anupam Kher Yash ChopraKher was last seen in a small role in Yashraj’s Badmaash Company in 2010. Post which he was left out of Aditya Chopra’s second directorial project Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and other Yashraj’s underproduction films.
When contacted, Kher tells us, “I still have the highest regard for the family and the fondest memories of all the films that I’ve done with them. On a personal level, I do miss being part of their films. But that is fine. When they have a role for me, I’m sure we’ll work together again.”
According to the YRF spokesperson, Rafiq, “Casting is script led and More >
