Imran & Shakun fight over title of KJo’s next
Jul 21st
As we reported recently, producer Karan Johar has cast Imran Khan in his next, which is being directed by debutant Shakun Batra.
This romantic comedy will have Imran romancing Kareena Kapoor.
Turns out, Imran and Shakun can’t see eye-to-eye all of a sudden. Imran was apparently very keen on calling the film Short Term Shaadi, which had temporarily become the working title for the film.

Director Shakun Batra has rejected Imran’s title despite the fact that Imran and the film’s writer Ayesha Devitre had strongly endorsed it.
You might wonder why Shakun should be obliged to take Imran’s suggestion anyway. That’s because Shakun and Imran actually go back a long way. The two became friends during Imran’s debut film Jaane Tu… in which Shakun was assisting Abbas Tyrewala. It was Imran who recommended Shakun to Karan Johar.
Clearly, the favour wasn’t unconditional because Imran’s now quite miffed with Shakun for turning down the title he had suggested.
Commenting on this, Karan says, “Yes Shakun didn’t like the title Short Term Shaadi. It was only a working title in the first place. Imran and my writer Ayesha were kicked about Short Term Shaadi.

But Shakun would hear none of it. We at Dharma go completely by the director’s vision. So we’re hunting for a new title now. What is decided for sure is that the film will be shot in Las Vegas.’
Meanwhile, Karan has left for an unknown part of the world to write his next script. “I’m tired of people asking me what I’m directing next. Even I want to know. I am not coming back this time without an answer.” We’re sure to get to know of it first
Pooja says no thanks

UTV will have to change the title of the Akshay Kumar and Sonam Kapoor starrer Thank You, as this title is with Pooja Bhatt, who will use it for her father’s classic Arth.
Pooja is also upset as to why UTV still hasn’t changed the title despite the AMTPP (Association Of Motion Pictures and TV Programme Producers) ordering them to do so.
She learnt about this only when she read in the papers that the Akshay-Sonam starrer had been titled Thank You. “Initially she thought that Thank You was a working title, but when she repeatedly saw stories appearing in the press, she approached the AMTPP.
A source says, “When told by Pooja, the AMTPP got into action and informed UTV. Now UTV has to rectify the situation. They have no option but to change the title.
Pooja has refused to part with the title.” Confirming the story, Pooja said, “I am going to remake Arth soon. The title Thank You is with my company Fish Eye Network. I am not interested in parting with it.”

After directing a host of films for his banner, Maruti Films, Indra Kumar is set to direct a film for an outside banner after a long gap. He is directing a film for Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision. Apparently, the working title of the film is 3 Losers.
Confirming the news, Indra says, “What is wrong with that? Sometimes you should make a film with others too. Anyway, I am making Double Dhamaal for my banner. I just thought that making two films for our banner will be very difficult. Moreover, Ashtavinayak was keen to make the film with me and the subject was very interesting. So I said, ‘why not?’ I will be making both the films simultaneously once the dates work out. We will go on the floors sometime in the middle of this year.”
Commenting about the title of the film, Indra says, “My film has four heroes and one more actor remains to be cast, so how can the title of the film be 3 Losers? We are yet to find a title. The film will star Sanjay Dutt, Anil Kapoor, Govinda and Akshaye Khanna. The heroines are yet to be finalised.”
When asked if his production partner Ashok Thackeria supported his decision to work outside their banner, he says, “Of course. I would not do anything without consulting him. My last film was Dhamaal (2007) which was made around two-and-a-half years ago.
After that, we have been trying to work on different subjects.”
