The notice sent by the TOPS group alleges that Balaji Telefilms has not paid it an amount of Rs 52 lakh since 2002, which has been pending for months now. While the TOPS group stands firm on its allegations, Balaji has rubbished all its claims, insisting that it have been paying the group.

When contacted, Ekta Kapoor, head honcho of Balaji Telefilms, asked us to speak to the CEO. The CEO of Balaji Telefilms, Srinivasa Shenoy, said, “They have been sending reminder calls and notices for the last 20 days and they claim that we haven’t paid them since 2002. How is it possible? Bigg Boss shenanigans: TRP teasers or genuine?

0

By Subhash K. Jha, October 5, 2010 – 11:21 IST

The shocking shenanigans of conman Devender Singh, alias Bunty, on the new season of Bigg Boss, comes as no shock to director Dibakar Banerjee who has made a film based on Bunty’s life.

Dibakar feels something was not quite right with Bunty. “I met him in jail for the film very briefly. I couldn’t make head or tail of his behaviour. Later, the jail authorities told me he had a problem with authority.”

Dibakar wonders if the whole thing with Bunty is a publicity stunt. However, a reliable source from the channel confirms that Bunty has been sent packing for good. “There’s no question of his coming back. He has abused and violated the basic rules of the show. He abused the girls and broke the mike and camera. We had to persuade him out of the Bigg Boss house. We offered to send him back home to Delhi. But he refused to take our offer. As far as we are concerned, he’s out of show for good.”

The other school of thought is that Bunty was brought into the Bigg Boss’ house as in-house counterpart to the host Salman Khan.

FWA bars Raakesh Paswan from writing for TV for a year after complaint filed by Manish Goswami By Vickey Lalwani (MUMBAI MIRROR; February 04, 2010)

// // // Of late we have had several cases where writers have accused producers of stealing their scripts. In a strange case of reversal, Manish Goswami producer of TV shows Parampara, Aashirwad, Swabhimaan and Kittie Party had accused writer Raakesh Paswan of directly lifting an important plot of his show Shraddha and introducing it in the show Bhagyavidhata. Incidentally, Paswan is the scriptwriter for both the serials.

The producer, who had filed a case against Paswan in the Film Writers’ Association, won the case on Tuesday. As per the verdict, Paswan has been barred from writing for any show for a year and has also been asked to pay a fine of Rs 1 lakh. If he is found violating the punishment, his suspension will be extended to six years.

An incensed Goswami said, “A few months ago, I paid Rs 20 lakh to Paswan while his outstanding amount was not more than Rs 8 lakh as he said he needed money for a house and I trusted him. He betrayed my trust. I knew he was writing for Bhagyavidhata but I didn’t expect that he would end up giving them the same story. He was responsible for Shraddha going off air. What I had planned to show in 250 episodes in Shraddha, Paswan put it in a concise form in 25 episodes for Bhagyavidhata.”
