The four-month old babies will join in their parents’ wedding anniversary bash
Meena Iyer | TNN (BOMBAY TIMES; February 6, 2011)
Sanjay Dutt and Manyata’s babies Iqra and Shahraan have just received their passports. They are expected to travel abroad for the first time.
The twins who were born premature (October 2010), are now nearly four months old and this will be their first official outing. Iqra has light eyes but she looks like her mother Manyata and Shahraan is quite like our Sanju baba. And the reason why they will board that flight to Bangkok is because Mr and Mrs Dutt want the babies with them for their wedding anniversary on February 11. It so happens that Sanju is in Bangkok for the shooting of his home production Rascals. Mana is keen to join her husband there. However she wasn’t happy at the thought of leaving the babies back. Our source says, “Mana first checked with the doctors whether it is safe for the twins to travel. Since she got a go-ahead from the doctor, she has decided to take the kids, their nanny and the whole shebang that goes when you travel overseas with babies-in-arms.”

0Sanjay Dutt on how he burps the twins and even cleans their mess…
Meena Iyer | TNN (BOMBAY TIMES; December 8, 2010)
Even at 51, Bollywood’s enfant terrible Sanjay Dutt is your quintessential rock star. After 28 years in showbiz and a legacy of movies (most of which have gone unnoticed except the Munnabhai series), there is very little that can actually affect his Box Office positioning. While he is out of the numbers race, Sanjay still manages to get enviable roles and a remuneration befitting a superstar. The paparazzi, however, continue to have a blast, taking potshots at his personal life. But Sanju is a seasoned player for the most part. He continues to bask in the warmth of his marriage to Maanyata and enjoy the gurgles of his two-month-old twins — Shahran (royal warrior) and Iqra (the learned one).
The reason why he is open to a media interaction today is because he has a stellar part in Eros International and Anil Kapoor Films Co Ltd’s whacko comedy No Problem, directed by Anees Bazmee, lined up for release tomorrow. Besides which, Sanju’s producing David Dhawan’s Rascals. And since you can’t have enough of comedies now, he is also in Indra Kumar’s Dhamaal-2.
“There’s plenty of work happening,’’ he smiles. “As much as I can handle. I’m balancing the lighthearted stuff with Raj Kumar Santoshi’s Power and Karan Johar’s Agneepath, where I play a suave villain. I shared a very deep bond with Yash Johar, Karan’s father… and More >
Mrs Dutt is on a roll
0From a small-time actress not so long ago, to the owner of a Rolls Royce, there’s more to Manyata Dutt’s evolution to a lady of the manor than what the eye can see
Vickey Lalwani (MUMBAI MIRROR; December 05, 2010)
When Sanjay Dutt gifted his wife Manyata a Rolls Royce earlier this week, all the world was there to hoot for the couple.
Manyata, visibly a new mom of twins, her white and yellow dress stretched over her post-pregnancy belly made a striking picture - the picture of a woman caught in the middle of transformation.
Gone was the shapeless salwar kameez and in its place a cool dress, appropriate shoes, bag and sun glasses. The hair - loose and wavy - continues to hark back in time, although it will be just a while until the lady seeks out a suitable hairdresser.
Manyata Dutt is evolving, even as she has affected much change in her husband Sanjay Dutt’s life. There is reason why much noise was made about Mrs Dutt’s new gift. “Manyata publicity ke liye kuch bhi karegi,” says an insider. “It was her idea that the media be called and that Sanjay should speak about the new swanky car.
So Sanjay cooked up a tale that the car was a post-delivery gift to Manyata.” Fact is, the actor has been dying to buy a Rolls Royce for the last eight years. He is very fond of fast cars. He is known to have gone into depression when Vidhu Vinod Chopra gifted a Phantom to Amitabh Bachchan, after the release of Eklavya.

No Rolls Royce for me on 26/11, says Sanju
0Sanjay Dutt did not have his Rolls Royce Ghost delivered yesterday, as the date happened to be 26/11, an extremely dark day in the history of Mumbai.
The actor decided to collect the car a day later.
He decided to gift the car to Manyata after she delivered their twins. Sanju changed his mind at the last moment because he did not want to celebrate on a day of mourning for the rest of the country.
His manager Dharma Oberoi confirmed the news and said, “Today is 26/11 and Dutt wouldn’t want to celebrate on such a day.”

Dare anyone put a terror charge on Rajinikanth?-Sanjay Dutt
0…because fans and the Tamil film fraternity will come out in his support — a bonding which, Sanjay Dutt says, Bollywood has lost. Sanjay gets into straight-talk mode with Anshul Chaturvedi, and doesn’t mince his words

Two hours daily in the gym; driving at 250 kmph on the Expressway; excited to-be dad; still as jittery, in your own words, as a newcomer when a release approaches — in this case, “Knock Out”. So how’s 51 different from what 28 may have been?
Actually, nothing much has changed…. I do drive the car myself. I’m looking forward to the twins. I do get nervous; I remember how I was before Lamhaa’s release — a little jittery. And it’s not deliberate — this is just how I am.
And you’re fitter at 51 than you were at 21?
I think so. And in fact, my current focus on gymming is also because, if you notice, in Blue and Kidnap, I’d let myself go a little. Case sar pe thaa, the judgment was about to come out and to bring focus to cinema was difficult for me at that stage. Fitness was hardly a priority.
It was such a big accusation. Being part of a terror activity? My God! When the judge said that you always wanted to hear this, that your dad always wanted to hear this, you are acquitted from the terror charge — that moment was the greatest moment of relief in my life. I had let myself go around that time, and I got a lot of mail, a lot of fan reactions, saying, ‘you started More >

0Sanjay Dutt, who’s given up alcohol, is high on life and all excited about playing a patriot in his new film
Meena Iyer | TNN (BOMBAY TIMES; October 7, 2010)
Sanjay Dutt is in an interesting phase in his career. At a time when the men in cinema (Rajinikanth, Ajay Devgn, Salman Khan) have been standing up and delivering, Sanju is getting ready for a challenge too. Yes, the countdown has begun. AAP Entertainment and Sohail Maklai’s Knock Out, a fast-paced thriller that brings together Sanjay Dutt, Irrfan Khan and Kangna Ranaut together for the first time, releases worldwide on October 15. And Sanju is pretty confident about the film.He says, “Mani Shankar and I went wrong with Rudraksh. It was a film slightly ahead of its time. But I have full faith in Mani as a director. He’s really good with the thriller genre. I only did Knock Out because the script had novelty. And my role is the backbone of the film.’’ Of the film that has the right amount of twists and turns to keep viewers riveted, Sanju says, “It’s a suspense thriller that can hook the audience because it’s a smart-sassy film that takes on anti-nationals. I play a desh bhakt… and I’m very sure the patriotic dialogue baazi will bring the house down.’’
Personally, too, the actor confesses to being in a very calm and collected phase of his life. He has given up alcohol because he says, “Life is giving me the high I need. My wife Manyata is expecting twins sometime in November More >
