She’s no thief, argues Amisha’s lawyer

Amisha Patel is rather disturbed about being involved in the recent trespassing and theft case.

Amisha’s lawyer Bindi Dave argues, “While a complaint has been filed by Amisha’s uncles alleging that she stole articles from her grandmother’s flat at Pune, it is frivolous.

Amisha was the only person who visited and looked after her grandmother at Pune and has bought most of the movables/domestic article(s) in the flat.

In her will, Amisha’s grandma has left her entire estate to her granddaughter, including the said flat. The question therefore of Amisha stealing anything does not arise. Wadia Ghandy has via his letters addressed the concerned police station, placed the above true facts on record. Amisha is also filing for a probate of the will.

As regards to the purported gift deed relied upon by Amisha’s uncles, no document has been produced despite her uncles having been called upon to do so. If and when such a document is produced, Amisha may, after being advised, adopt appropriate proceedings for cancellation of the same.

This statement is to clarify the matters as the complaint filed by the uncles seeks to tarnish Amisha’s celebrity image.”

The actress’s relatives accuse her of sneaking into their property at Prabhat road in Pune

They say laws are the same for everyone but as usual, some people continue to live blissfully ignorant of that. Actress Amisha Patel had a tryst with the legal system around Diwali this year.

Amisha’s uncle Nalin Rajni Patel submitted an application on November 25 to Deccan Gymkhana police, claiming that his niece allegedly opened their flat at Manali Apartments with a duplicate key, which was in her possession. The police said they have received the application and are verifying it.

Nalin claimed that after opening the apartment illegally, Amisha stole some domestic articles from the apartment, owned jointly by his brother Sunil and him. Both of them were in Nasik when the incident happened in Pune.

According to Nalin, the incident came to light after his brother received a telephone call from their domestic help on November 24. The help informed them that some persons opened the locked door and took away some articles.

“When I inquired with the society watchman, I learnt that one of them was Amisha,” said Nalin.

Nalin is disappointed with the Deccan police for failing to register an FIR against the actress, while trying to pass off the incident as a civil matter.

“A criminal complaint needs to be lodged for theft and trespassing against Amisha for her act and our application should not be dismissed More >
