Tina Dutta now in double role in Uttaran
0Uttaran set for a time leap tonight, Tina Dutta will be seen in a double role
Bina Trivedi (BOMBAY TIMES; March 26, 2012)
It isn’t often that a TV actor plays a double role. Tina Dutta (Uttaran’s Ichcha), has got that chance, now that the show is taking an 18-year time leap.
So while the actress will continue to portray a subdued Ichcha, she will also play her 18-year-old chirpy daughter, Meethi, after the leap on March 26.
Tina is naturally excited. “I have been playing Ichcha for the past three years. Today, this role is an extension of me. But now I will also play my own daughter and that’s going to be fun. With the leap, I get to experiment with my look and build on my acting skills,” she says.
Meethi is a typical college-going girl, zesty and full of life. “She wears colourful clothes. She has been raised by her grandmother Ammo and adopted brother Kanha. Ichcha will be released from prison and will make an attempt to start her life afresh. I am really hoping that audiences will like Meethi as much as they like Ichcha,” she says.
Tina will be joined by Sreejita De, who will play Mukta (Tapasya’s daughter). Incidentally, Sreejita was almost finalised to play Ichcha when the show took off, but things didn’t work out in the end. Sreejita is happy to come on board finally.
Even as the new characters make their way in, oldtimers Jogi Thakur, Ammo and Nani will continue their innings on the popular show.
Catch Uttaran post the leap tonight at 10 on Colors.
Uttran lead’s brand new demands
0Tina Dutta, who plays Iccha in the show, threatened to leave it unless her daily fee was doubled; the producer is aghast
Vickey Lalwani (MUMBAI MIRROR; July 07, 2010)
When the child actor of Uttran grew up in the show, it was criticised by its loyal viewers. Turns out, it happened for good reason. Apparently the entire crew of the show is very unhappy with Tina (who plays Iccha as a grown-up).
While on this show, Tina has indeed grown too big for her boots. She has asked the producer of Uttran, Pintu Guha to double her existing fee from Rs 15,000 per day to Rs 30,000 per day. A source from the TV industry says, “If this does not happen, Tina has threatened to quit the show.”
We hear, Guha has now asked the AMTPP (Association Of Motion Picture and TV Programme Producers) to look into the matter. He is flabbergasted at her demand because he recently hiked her fee from Rs12,000 per day to Rs15,000. “Tina is demanding an exorbitant amount and her blackmail tactics are unfair,” adds the source.
It was reported recently that Tina accused a hairdresser of stealing her wig. Members of the Hairdressers’ Association intervened and stalled the shoot but the crew of Uttran somehow pacified them and sent them back. Later, it was reported that the wig was found with Tina.
However, Tina says, “Things have been blown out of proportion. The same thing happened when I lost my wig. Later, I found that it was with one of the production guys.” When More >
Jimmy-Tina blasts Harsh Chhaya; Harsh counter attacks
0As if being eliminated from a reality show wasn’t bad enough, actor Harsh Chhaya is facing his teammates’ wrath too. Harsh, who is a part of Comedy Circus, was eliminated from the show on November 17 along with teammates, Uttaran actress Tina Dutta and stand-up comedian Jimmy Moses.
Tina and Jimmy allege that had Harsh performed better, they would still be competing in the show.
Explaining why they were eliminated, Jimmy says, “Tina was a good performer and Harsh started off well too but then his performance slackened. He could not devote the required time to rehearse our acts. His ‘I am a big actor, I will not rehearse’ attitude became apparent gradually. Tina is a part of a popular serial too but she always had time for rehearsals.”
Tina says, “As a team, we definitely could have done with more rehearsing. There was lack of communication between us and our viewpoints were always different. Harshji was pretty good initially but later his act left much to be desired.”
Jimmy adds, “Harsh got confused. This often happens when an actor tries his hand at stand-up comedy. Confusion mein phir problem ho jata hai. They are celebrities while we do stand-up comedy. We know when to throw in the extra punch essential in comic acts. But in Harsh’s case, he is More >
