On April 10 this year, at the success party of Ekta Kapoor’s Love Sex Aur Dhokha, all heads turned when Vishal Bhardwaj entered. Why? Because Ekta’s parties mostly have their regulars: biggies from the television industry, actors who have worked in her films and those who are currently working in them.
So, amongst the guests who come to most of Ekta’s parties, you would spot Kangna Ranaut (because now she’s working in Ekta’s Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai), Isha Koppikar and Neha Dhupia (because they have worked with Ekta in Kya Kool Hain Hum), Govinda (he worked with Ekta in Kyonki Main Jhooth Nahin Bolta) and Abhishek Kapoor a.k.a Gattu (well because he’s Ekta’s cousin; give him a break!).
Ever since that night when Ekta’s guests at her Juhu bungalow were surprised to see Vishal Bhardwaj enter with his wife Rekha Bhardwaj, there have been whispers doing the round in the film industry.
All of May and June, people wondered what was cooking between the two. An obvious guess was that Ekta and Vishal would work together soon but no one had even a whiff of what was going on.
Finally it’s all out in the open. Last week, Ekta and Vishal finalised the film, which they will produce jointly. A source says, “Bharadwaj, who will also direct the film is finalising the cast because the script is ready. An official announcement will be made soon.”
The film has been titled Dreams. “The story will be a love-triangle between two girls and one boy. All the three actors cast in the film will be big names,” reveals the source.
Apparently, Ekta had been toying with the idea of working with the talented director for long. The source says, “Ekta loves Vishal’s work. She has been appreciative about all his films, especially Maqbool, Omkara and Kaminey. Ever since Kaminey released, she was thinking of approaching him to direct a film that would be produced by her company Balaji Telefilms. The deal was finalised only recently.”
Dreams will be shot outside Mumbai. We guess, after Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai, a change of taste would be welcome. And Vishal will start work on this Balaji project as soon as he completes Saat Khoon Maaf.

Kashyap to reveal intimate letter he wrote to parents while taking ‘Udaan’
Jul 6th
The producer of Udaan, Anurag Kashyap, goes public with an intimate letter he wrote to his parents years ago, explaining why he was forced to leave home
Anurag Kashyap has decided to bare it all. To promote his film Udaan, which deals with a very sensitive relationship between a father and son and their issues that creep up as differences, he has come up with a rather difficult-to-execute idea. Incidentally, Anurag had also left home way back in 1993, to pursue his dreams.
He had written a very intimate letter then to his parents, explaining his grievances against them, which forced him to leave home.
Since the broad theme of Udaan has some autobiographical resonance for him, Anurag has now decided to reveal the letter, to everyone.
He believes that this letter would send the message of his film to a much wider audience. Anurag plans to first release the letter on his Facebook wall and then use it for other promotional purposes.

A close friend of Anurag’s said, “Anurag left his parents’ house in Varanasi in 1993 and wrote a seven-page letter in Hindi to his mother and father.
He basically wanted to tell them that the reason why he left home was that he wanted freedom from them, from society and its norms. He wanted to be free to pursue his dreams. Anurag wanted to come to Mumbai and work in the television industry.
He was upset that his family and other relatives used to call him useless and wayward. They used to say that he would definitely waste himself and go astray one day. That letter was earlier in possession of his mother. Now, while promoting his film Udaan, Anurag found similarities between his life and the film, which deals with the subject of a teenage boy wanting to choose his career.
Anurag had also written some very intimate details about his then girlfriend in the letter but Anurag plans to erase those portions before putting it up on any networking site.”
When contacted, Anurag Kashyap said, “Udaan’s theme is universal and everyone can relate to it almost immediately. It’s a phase when all of us are out to rebel against our parents, our society. Even in my case, I was extremely hurt and had written a seven-page letter to mom and dad saying that I am leaving home to pursue my dreams. I desired freedom from my parents, freedom to do what I wanted in my career. Since Udaan is exactly similar in theme, I thought I could share my letter to promote the film.”
