Kasab’s death lends happy ending to RGV’s film
0Ram Gopal Varma, who is making a film on the 26/ 11 attacks, has decided to end his film with Kasab’s execution
Asira Tarannum (MID-DAY; November 25, 2012)
When Ram Gopal Varma heard of Ajmal Kasab’s hanging on Wednesday morning, he knew he had found a happy ending for his film, The Attacks of 26/11.
“Varma had planned to end the film with Kasab in jail, serving his death sentence. But now the film ends with a truly happy ending — something Bollywood audiences love — that of the hanging of Kasab,” a source close to the director revealed.
“It is hard for films made on real-life incidents to have a final closure. It is usually an ongoing process. Kasab was the most identifiable person in the attack and his hanging has definitely given the story proper closure,” Varma said, on being asked about the changes to the film.
“The story is about the night of 26/ 11 and its investigation. Over the past year, there was no progress so I would have shown him in jail. Now I will definitely add his execution part and that is how the film will end. It will be add to the cost, of course,” he added.
Apparently, Varma called the film’s producer Parag Sanghvi as soon as he found out about Kasab’s execution. While the good news was that he had found a happy ending for their film, the bad news was that the cost of the film would escalate. The film is going to be an expensive one in any case. The crew has been denied permissions to shoot at most locations, which will have to be recreated on More >
There is a sophisticated and polite side to me-Saif Ali Khan
0Saif Ali Khan, a week after his fight, admits that celebrities should control their temper and spews venom at uninformed gossipmongers
Vickey Lalwani (MUMBAI MIRROR; February 29, 2012)
Saif Ali Khan has never been as popular for his films as he has been over the past one week for his brawl at a restaurant. So, when we were informed that the actor would call at a particular time, we did not want to miss it. But then Virat Kohli started hammering the Sri Lankan bowlers. We prayed silently, for Saif to be late. Our prayers were answered. Saif called an hour later. India was home. And we were bursting with questions.
“Hasn’t enough been said about the fight already?” asks Saif. But then he starts talking. “I have another side to me as well. And who is this Ritu Trivedi (referring to an aricle in Mumbai Mirror, dated February 22)? Can someone please tell me what she means by saying: “Why are we not surprised about the brouhaha over Saif Ali Khan’s fit of Agent Vinodish rage? Simply because although he would like to establish his image as a Renaissance Man – who reads tomes.” Can’t a man who reads books get wild?” says Saif irritably and adds, “Is Julius Caesar a Renaissance man? Who is a Renaissance man? Can you give me one example?”
But then, Saif launches into his own explanation of the Renaissance man. “Subhash Chandra Bose wasn’t a renaissance man. It’s not that he didn’t do anything violent in life. One needs to understand that there is a sophisticated and polite side More >
Saif was provoked-Kareena Kapoor

Kareena Kapoor speaks out about the alleged brawl between Khan and Iqbal Sharma at a restaurant in Mumbai
As told to Upala KBR (BOMBAY TIMES; February 25, 2012)
“I haven’t spoken about what happened that night, but now I feel I should because whatever is being said is completely one-sided. This man (Iqbal Sharma) is publicity-hungry. How can a man with a broken nose and jaw speak continuously on TV for more than 10 hours?
Saif was provoked. He’s a thorough gentleman and would never get into a brawl, especially with women around.
We were having dinner at Wasabi when Iqbal stormed into our corner and started screaming at us. The only people present at that time were Sharma’s group and ours. We were laughing and talking, but certainly not screaming! There was no reason for this man to come to our table and shout at Saif. Even so, Saif said sorry but he continued to rant.
Now he’s saying he didn’t know that there were actors present at the table. But his wife Tarina (who has acted in Dhol and Bhool Bhulaiyya) and Malaika had greeted each other just a little while before! The funny thing is when Tarina saw her husband making a scene, instead of stopping him she got into the lift and ran away!
The fight happened when Iqbal was returning from the washroom and Saif was going down. Iqbal pushed Saif and the old man joined in. When Shakeel (Ladak) and Bilal (Amrohi) saw this, they came to his rescue. Saif is very respectful towards seniors and he knows how to behave in public More >
Love in Goa for Abhi-Ash
1To celebrate their fourth wedding anniversary, Junior Bachchan planned an elaborate surprise for his wife
Noyon Jyoti Parasara (MUMBAI MIRROR; April 22, 2011)
Promoting his forthcoming film all over the country, Abhishek Bachchan has been really tied up lately. However, the loving husband did not let his busy schedule ruin his fourth wedding anniversary.
In fact, the actor planned a surprise for his wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and swept her off to Goa for a romantic night out.
A source revealed that on Wednesday, the actor surprised his wife by taking her directly to the airport where a chartered flight was already waiting for them. “They reached the airport around 6 pm and took the flight to Goa.
Ash was in for a surprise as Abhishek had booked a suite in one of the Taj hotels in Goa,” added our source.
After a romantic night together in Goa, the couple was back in Mumbai around 11 am the next morning.
Considering, Abhishek has to leave for Russia today, with the rest of the cast of Abbas-Mustan’s Players, stealing one night with his wife to celebrate four years of marriage seems like an extremely cute though somewhat filmy gesture on the actor’s part.

0QASAB HANGED (IN REEL LIFE!)
Any disaster or catastrophe, whether natural or man-made, is enough to trigger off the imagination of a film writer. That’s why, in a year, there are at least 3 films churned out which are based on real-life events. Last year’s Mumbai Meri Jaan was based on the Mumbai serial train blasts. Firaaq, released in March, threw light on the post-Gujarat riots scenario. Hollywood has produced so many films on 9/11 attacks that I have lost count (in Bollywood, Yun Hota Toh Kya Hota and Madhoshi are the films I remember which were based on these attacks).
The recent 26/11 attack is also going to be used as plots in many upcoming films. In fact, 26/11, Terror in Taj, CST and lots of such titles are already registered! Although all such films are still in the scripting stage, one of them is already ready. Titled Total Ten, it’s a B-grade film in which the actors in the film play the real characters. Rajan Verma plays Ajmal Qasab, the lone terrorist captured in these attacks. The names of other actors and their characters are as follows: 1. Homi Wadia-Hemant Karkare 2. Sudesh Berry-Vijay Salaskar 3. Ashish Vidyarthi-Tukaram Ombale 4. Ashok Kulkarni-Ashok Kamte 5. Aroon Bakshi-Maulana Masood Azhar (founder of Jaish-e-Mohammad)
Besides, a lot of small-time actors play the role of the other 9 terrorists who entered into Mumbai on the fateful day. However, there’s no information yet regarding who plays the role of R R Patil More >
