If ever proof was needed that he was born with cinema in his genes, this picture captured by ace lensman Jagdish Aurangabadkar says it all. The occasion being a grand party hosted at hotel Sun N Sand by Yash and Pamela Chopra to celebrate the birth of their eldest son Aditya. The proud parents look on as Rakhee whispers sweet nothings to baby Adi. Aditya Chopra grew up on a steady diet of films. He devoured every new film that came along, on the very first day it released. Till he was ten, he thought everyone around him did nothing but make films. And while his film career took off at the age of 18 as assistant director to his dad, he was only 23 when he wrote and directed his first film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jaayenge, which remains the longest running film in the history of Indian cinema. Rakhee’s presence at this very significant Chopra bash comes as no surprise considering her long association with Yash Raj Films. The actress bagged her first Filmfare Award for her role in Yash Chopra’s Daag: A Poem of Love (1973), going on to play the romantic lead opposite Amitabh Bachchan in another Yash Raj hit Kabhie Kabhie(1976). She starred opposite Rishi Kapoor in a lesser-known romantic drama under the same banner Doosra Aadmi(1977). As for Aditya, while the young Chopra scion has been instrumental in YRF becoming the powerhouse it is today, the one trait he is conspicuous by is his elusiveness.
