Neil’s goofy act for Hi Blitz

0

By Bollywood Hungama News Network, August 5, 2010 – 14:29 IST

He is distinctly known for his good looks and slowly and steadily he’s made a name for himself in the league of performing actors. Why not we say, after all, his choice of films is extraordinary and it’s more than apparent that stardom isn’t what he is vying for. Neil Nitin Mukesh, the son of legendary singer Mukesh, has gone ahead and did a cover for Hi Blitz that is far from conventional. Neither retro, nor high fashion, it is, hold your breath, a la anti-fashion.

Yes! A complete geeky photo shoot with glasses, printed button down shirt and the jazz. Neil makes no bones about the fact that he is here to perform, as he says, “I have come here as an actor, only the audience can make star out of me.” He started his career with a small budget film unlike his contemporaries Ranbir Kapoor and Imran Khan who made a smashing entry but like the industrywallas say he might just be the dark horse of Hindi cinema and that certainly shows in his attitude. Says Neil, “I am one of those guys who don’t leave anything midway. When Johnny Gaddar got stuck, many people told me to move on but I didn’t. I don’t discuss how much money any movie makes. I am happy as a creative person.”

Kareena Kapoor angry with Milenge Milenge’s tagline?

0

The actress is very upset because the promos of Boney Kapoor’s Milenge Milenge seem to suggest that she’s back on track with Shahid Kapoor

Kunal M Shah (MUMBAI MIRROR; June 29, 2010) Kareena Kapoor

Bebo is angry. And Boney Kapoor’s film Milenge Milenge is to blame. The film is finally releasing and the promos are on in full swing. But Kareena, the leading lady of the film, is upset about Boney Kapoor using the line `They are back together’ in the promos.

It is obvious that Kareena wants to stay as far away from her ex-boyfriend Shahid Kapoor as possible. Hence, something that merely suggests that she and Shahid were once together, has miffed her.

Kareena is also feeling cheated because she went out of her way to help Boney Kapoor finish the film. Our source says, “Kareena and Shahid broke up long ago and the film was stuck for various reasons. Before Boney decided to release the film, Kareena had to help him by completing the leftover dubbing. She also did a photo shoot for the promotion of the film so it does not look dated.

Shahid, on his part, shot for a music video. But Kareena was shocked when she saw the promos that read `They are back together’, as though reiterating the fact that they broke up and have now patched up.

The credit card that got Kareena’s goat

Kareena told a couple of friends that it was not fair that despite helping Boney complete the film and facilitating its release, he did this. She is More >

Hrithik makes the urchin gang’s day

Urchins had a field day when they realised that Hrithik Roshan was stuck in an endless traffic jam on Tuesday afternoon By Shikha Saroj (MUMBAI MIRROR; February 04, 2010)

While no one will have a good word to say about Mumbai’s traffic jams, urchins would beg to differ especially after what happened on Tuesday afternoon.

In a classic case of reel life meeting real life, Hrithik Roshan almost reenacted one of his most endearing scenes from Luck By Chance. The only difference was that while his character in the film Zafar Khan, a prominent Bollywood actor, initially ignores urchins and gradually starts making faces to entertain them from inside his car, Hrithik readily interacted with urchins while being stuck in a traffic jam for nearly 20 minutes a stone’s throw away from the Andheri (East-West) flyover day before yesterday.

It all started with a swanky white Mercedes (MH02-AU-3663) crawling through the packed road when suddenly the traffic stopped moving altogether. A street child reached the sleek car hoping to get some money but she soon realised that she couldn’t see the interiors of the car through the pitch-black windows. What started as a simple plea to get some money almost turned into a quest with a few urchins gathering around the car out of sheer curiosity. One of them suddenly ran to peek inside the car through the windshield following which there was a huge commotion. It soon became clear who it was when the urchins excitedly said, ‘Hrithik hai More >

Movie Review: ACCIDENT ON HILL ROAD by TARAN ADARSH

What do you do when you, accidentally, bang into someone on the road? Flee from the spot? Call for help? Dial the cops? Rush the victim to the hospital?

Pick up a newspaper and chances are you might glance upon a hit-and-run case only too often. ACCIDENT ON HILL ROAD, a remake of STUCK [Mena Suvari, Stephen Rea], raises a few questions in its own way. Perhaps, the intentions were right, but what eventually unfolds on screen isn’t.

The problem with ACCIDENT ON HILL ROAD is that it loses focus after a point and that takes away the seriousness from the issue.

Sonam [Celina Jaitly] is a nurse who accidentally steers her car into the harmless Prakash [Farooque Shaikh], sending him flying through the windshield. Not wanting to jeopardize her future, Sonam, along with her drug-peddling boyfriend Sid [Abhimanyu Singh], chooses not to get him medical help, leaving him clinging to life in her garage.

But soon her psyche begins to unravel as the captor and captive are pitted against each other in a battle for survival.

ACCIDENT ON HILL ROAD had the potential to be a thought-provoking film that pricks your conscience, but what comes across is a half-baked attempt that runs out of steam soon after the intermission. In fact, the film begins quite well and a few moments as well as the twists and turns in the first half do keep you on the edge.

Partner sequel stuck?

The sequel to Partner is allegedly stuck due to lack of a good script; Salman, Govinda dates wasted By Subhash K Jha (MUMBAI MIRROR; August 31, 2009)

Salman Khan and Sohail Khan

David Dhawan’s Partner may be a brand name on par with Golmaal and Dhoom. But while Golmaal and Dhoom are racing to the third segment of their franchise, Partner is still stuck for a sequel as a good script plays truant.

First, Katrina Kaif decided not to be a part of the sequel, thus putting the film on the backburner. And now it seems unlikely that Partner 2 will see the light in the near, or even distant future.

Although the dates were locked in for the two main actors (Govinda and Salman), for the second half of this year, David Dhawan has failed to come up with an idea that would take the Partner brand further. A source says, “Salman and producer Sohail Khan were very keen to start Partner 2 .They had even locked in the dates. But the idea that David came up with didn’t appeal to them.”
