Amisha Patel flaunts a perfect 10 figure
Prithwish Ganguly | TNN (BOMBAY TIMES; February 5, 2011)
Amisha Patel’s sensuousness was never in doubt, but like fine wine, she has become sexier now. BT bumped into Amisha, who enjoyed getting ready for a hot photo-shoot. And, boy she did get the temperature to soar. Effortless and relaxed, she made Dabboo Ratnani’s shutter go crazy about her charm, body and raw sensuality.
The pretty actress admits that she is in her best shape ever. “I’m sexier than ever right now and I can feel it. During Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic (the 2008 film in which she wore a yellow bikini and seduced Saif Ali Khan underwater) I was in good shape. But I wanted to better the standard that I had already set on screen. I followed a healthy diet chart and worked out regularly. I didn’t kill myself exercising and I don’t believe in dieting. One has to eat right and healthy,” she says.
Just before she struck a pose in her ganjee and shorts, Amisha said, “It’s this sexy girl-next-door look that I have. I’m not in your face obvious. It’s a look that a friend of mine came up with especially for me when I went to a party wearing a pair of shorts and a tee.”
While many B-town divas have an international body type, which is the size-zero, Amisha says, “I don’t believe in size zero. I believe in having curves. A man’s body is different from a woman’s and women should have curves. That’s hot! A woman shouldn’t be thin as a stick More >
Priyanka makes it doubly clear
0Having ended a six-year-long cold war with Kareena last December, Priyanka made the most of another opportunity to tell her that bygones are truly bygones now
Sonal Chawla (MUMBAI MIRROR; January 31, 2011)
Mumbai Mirror reported on December 21 on ceasefire between Kareena and Priyanka. At the Mumbai Police Mela organised then, Piggy made the first move and called Bebo on stage. A six-year-long cold war ended.
Technically, Bebo should have made the second move but it seems Piggy is keener. So be it. At the Filmfare Awards rehearsals on Friday night, Priyanka went up to Bebo and gave her a warm hug. Kareena, who was scheduled to rehearse after Piggy, had to wait for a long time because a lot of changes were being added to Piggy’s performance. Kareena was apparently getting very restless in the interim and she walked down to the rehearsal hall.
Furious for having had to wait for so long, Bebo was apparently pacing up and down the hall. In a little while, she even had to rush to Pune for the shoot of Bodyguard.
Just then Piggy entered the hall and both actresses started talking about the schedule of their practice sessions. Suddenly, Priyanka took a step ahead and hugged Kareena.
Those who witnessed this were mighty impressed with Priyanka’s second attempt at warming up with Kareena. Let’s not forget, Kareena was once dating her current boyfriend Shahid Kapoor.
Kareena reciprocated with a smile. Soon after Priyanka left the hall More >
When Anushka spat on Akshay
0Her penchant to get a scene right ended with an embarrassing moment for Akshay Kumar
TNN (MUMBAI MIRROR.COM; January 07, 2011) Akshay Kumar and Anushka Sharma
This girl is full of spunk! Yeah, you read that right. Anushka Sharma might be just three films old, but this gal is already spitting in the faces of the A-listers. Literally.
And it’s not her cool attitude, really, infact, it’s her penchant for getting the scene just right. Recently, while shooting for a scene for Patiala House, Anushka had to say the word ‘thoonk’, but she ended up literally spitting on co-star Akshay Kumar’s face.
Eeks! We’re sure that was Akki’s first reaction too, but the sporting khiladi, simply wiped off the incident with a smile and helped Anushka do a retake.
He’s always a sweetheart with his female co-stars, isn’t he? And even if he runs into some minor spats, we guess he just spits it away.
He, he. Or just say…’pattiyaa-la’ after the scene, what say Akki?
Movie Review: ISI LIFE MEIN by FENIL SETA
0The great rural-urban divide never seems to go away. While the small towns and villages are epitome of simple living, innocence and values, the cities are modern and often reckless in their outlook. The urbanites are thus perceived as shameless, immoral and disgraceful. However, the truth is not what it seems. People in small town don’t allow their girls to think freely and fly high in the sky as they are expected to get married soon. Also evil practices like dowry continue to thrive in such areas. However, something like this is hardly seen in the urban areas as they have a fresh mindset towards everything and believe in gender equality. Isi Life Mein touches this topic and is also a fun college film and a love story as well. Coming from the Rajshri stable, one definitely expects something as great as Hum Aapke Hai Koun or Vivah. Unfortunately, Isi Life Mein fails to reach that level. While the love story, situations and characters are very sweet, the film gets too simplistic which might be rejected by the moviegoers.
The story of the movie: Rajnandini (Sandeepa Dhar) gets a huge 96% in her Class 12 Boards and she wishes to study further. However, Rajnandini, a resident of small town Ajmer and daughter of a conservative father Ravimohan (Mohnish Bahl) fears that she won’t be allowed to do so. But thanks to her mom Pratibha (Prachee Shah Pandya), she gets a nod to go to Mumbai to pursue her further studies. In her college in Mumbai, she joins Dramatic More >
Rishi, KJo are no longer foes?
0Having suffered his wrath for long now, KJo walked up to Rishi Kapoor at a function last night and hugged him tight
Kunal M Shah (MUMBAI MIRROR; December 20, 2010)
As the year-end gets nippier by the day, Bollywood biggies are cozying up to each other. Like the Salman-Hrithik fight, another one has ended.
The spat between Rishi Kapoor and Karan Johar was getting bigger; the two families were getting embroiled in it as well. Thankfully they have now made up.
KJo’s chat show had offended Rishi tremendously and Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor’s remarks against Rishi’s son did not go down well with him. And Rishi thought the comments emerged because Karan provoked the two actresses.
Sonam rated Ranbir very low on the sex-appeal quotient and declared that he needed a stylist very badly. And Deepika hinted at the fact that Ranbir was not a loyal lover; she said she would like to gift him a packet of condoms if asked to gift something. Needless to say, Rishi was seething with anger at the end of it.
But last night, at a police function in Andheri, Karan broke the ice when he saw Rishi present at the venue. Says an eyewitness, “Karan went up to Rishi and hugged him.
Rishi reciprocated with a smile and then gave him a warm hug. After that, Rishi and Karan were seen chatting as if nothing had ever happened between them.”
Movie Review: MIRCH by FENIL SETA
0Our cinema tends to showcase infidelity in men in an entertaining vein. No Entry, Garam Masala and many more such films were the ones which projected men enjoying with the baharwali and getting away with it for most part of the film and this formed the basis of humour. Now imagine a film on a similar line but instead of the men, it’s the lady who’s into all such kind of acts! That’s Mirch for you, a film that’s as spicy as its title! The USP of the film is that it celebrates womanhood through the emphasis of adultery. There are four stories and in each of them, the adulterous woman, when caught by her hubby, goes scot free through the use of her wits! This is what makes Mirch immensely impressive even though it has too many of glitches.
The story of the movie: Maanav (Arunoday Singh) is a struggling writer who’s managed to get a producer Nitin (Sushant Singh) for his script thanks to his editor girlfriend Ruchi (Shahana Goswami). Nitin however doesn’t find the venture commercially viable. Maanav then suggests a story from the Panchratna: A woman (Raima Sen) is caught with her lover (Arunoday Singh) by her husband (Rajpal Yadav) and yet manages to go scot free. Nitin gets floored by the concept but finds it too short. So Maanav comes up with 3 more stories based on the same theme. The 2nd story is set in medieval times while the last 2 are based in the modern era. The four stories however are woven together by a common story.
Mirch is certainly a risky More >
Farah’s triplets reluctantly shoot for Tees Maar Khan
0By Joginder Tuteja, September 27, 2010 – 11:17 IST
Farah Khan’s kids – Diva, Czar and Anya – have perhaps not been bitten by the glamour world yet. Even though they were enticed enough to face the camera by their mother Farah Khan (who is the one of the most unabashed ‘masala’ film lover that Bollywood boasts of today), the triplets weren’t excited enough. This resulted in a funny shoot for Tees Maar Khan when the director (softly) called ‘action’.
“Poocho mat. I guess the toughest part of my shoot was to capture my kids well on camera”, Farah says in her inimitable manner, “Shirish and my production house is called ‘Three’s Company’ because of these three kids. As is the tradition with my films, I wanted to feature them for the end credit title roll of Tees Maar Khan. However, they just didn’t seem interested.”
What followed was quite some ‘improvisation’ that the Diva, Czar and Anya indulged in.
“Here I was pampering them with all the nice dresses and goodies. There was a special tuxedo that I had got designed for Czar. On the other hand, my daughters Diva and Anya were made to wear these beautiful birthday party dresses”, informs Farah, “While they were getting all dressed up, they were all fine and smiling. However, when I wanted them to put on their best show for camera, they just walked around at their own will.”
“Guess my famed command didn’t quite work with my own kids this time around”, she jokes, “The kind of expression that the three of them had More >
Dad’s honesty killed him: SRK
0King Khan pours his heart out in a stirring interview about his relationship with his father, what he learnt from his parents and how he approaches life
Anshul Chaturvedi | TNN (MUMBAI MIRROR.COM; September 23, 2010)
“I’m honest but I’m not defensive about winning and living well,” says Shah Rukh Khan, as he looks back at life 30 years after his dad died of cancer in Delhi.
You’ve been posting messages about your dad today (Sep 19) … nostalgia? Haan yaar… I just suddenly realized today, I woke up and I’d forgotten what date it was, I just looked at the newspaper and then realized it… Actually, before that, at night, strangely, my son came to me – my wife is at the hospital, she’s staying there – and he came to me and said, ‘papa, I want to give a hug.’ So I asked, ‘why?’ And he said, ‘just like that, papa… I think, I love you’. I found it very touching.
And then I woke up and realized that it was my dad’s death anniversary when I saw the newspapers. And I’m glad I’m in Delhi today. I’ll go and pray in a while. When good things happen in my life – and I think every day a good thing happens in my life – I feel, I wish, that my parents were here, as my kids are growing up. For example, we had to bring the kids here, we couldn’t leave the kids in Mumbai; sometimes you suddenly feel, arre, if I had my parents, you could always leave the kids with their grandparents, but that’s not to be. We don’t have any elder at home. I miss that, I miss More >
