Mahesh Bhatt slapped me-Meera

Pakistani actress Meera alleges that Mahesh Bhatt was possessive and physically abusive, and that it was him who made her leave Bollywood

Piyali Dasgupta (BOMBAY TIMES; April 28, 2011) Meera, who became a known face in Bollywood with films like Mahesh Bhatt’s Nazar and Rajiv Babbar’s Kasak, is making a comeback. When BT caught up with her in Karachi, the actress opened up about her hiatus from Indian cinema, saying Bhatt didn’t want her to work with anyone else, and even thwarted her visa process when she wanted to return. “Do saal ke baad main wapas Bollywood films karne wali hun. It’s been a long gap and people in Pakistan and India have been asking why. Today, I feel it’s time to share the truth. It was a heartening experience to work in Bollywood. I love the Indian audience and the appreciation I received here was unexpected. It was not an easy journey. Bahut mushkilen aayin, par maine haar nahin maani. I was new to Bollywood and Mahesh Bhatt introduced me to the industry. I respect Maheshji a lot, he has been my guru and mentor. I will always owe my success to him,” says she.

But then why did she move back to Pakistan? “I was all alone in Mumbai and didn’t know many people except Mahesh Bhatt. I felt insecure. Bahut waqt laga logon ko jaanne mein. It was not that easy. After my success in my debut film, Nazar, I started getting a lot of offers from other renowned filmmakers, about which Mahesh Bhatt felt uncomfortable. So was More >

Trouble in the Tanaaz-Bakhtiyar marriage?

BT managed a sensational scoop!

Neha Maheshwri | TNN (BOMBAY TIMES; February 15, 2011)

Rumour has it that all is not well in Tanaaz and Bakhtiyar’s four-year-old marriage.

The latest incident where the short-tempered husband slapped his curly-haired wife twice during the shoot of reality show Maa Exchange validates it. The reason for the alleged display of temper is because Bakhtiyar’s suspects that Tanaaz is growing close to the film and TV actor Vindoo Dara Singh.

An insider says, “Tanaaz and Vindoo became good friends during Maa Exchange and unfortunately, Bakhtiyar assumed that there was more than what meets the eye. He landed at a club in town where a party was organised for all the contestants of another reality show based on water sports in which both Vindoo and Bakhtiyar had earlier participated. We had requested Vindoo to take Tanaaz along with him. And somebody from the party informed Bakhtiyar that Tanaaz and Vindoo looked rather comfortable with each other. This information was enough to trigger his anger. He reportedly slapped Tanaaz in public.”

Hold on, this isn’t the only time when Bakhtiyar showed his mean temper. There was another incident when Tanaaz who was running late by just 20 minutes; when she was rushing to a hospital to visit Bakhtiyar’s family member, had to bear her husband’s ire. He accused her of being with Vindoo.

Actor alleges Onir molested him

An aspiring actor and director Onir of My Brother Nikhil fame in a face-off over an intimate encounter that brings the industry’s taboo subject out in the open

Bharati Dubey (MUMBAI MIRROR; January 15, 2011)

One of the seldom-discussed aspects of the film industry’s casting couch syndrome is the exploitation of young men by a clique of powerful men who are gay. But in a first, an aspiring young actor, who recently acted in a film based on the theme of homosexual love, has alleged that he was molested by film director Onir.

It’s a charge the director forcefully denies, giving compelling reasons to suggest that his encounter with the actor was by mutual consent.

However, the nature of this public allegation has created a stir in scandal-saturated Bollywood. Largely this is due to Onir’s reputation as a filmmaker of sensitive films like My Brother Nikhil, Bas Ek Pal and Sorry Bhai. He is also one of the few directors who are out in an industry that is surprisingly coy on the subject.

Ranged against him is a 28-year-old struggling actor Yuvraj Parashar from Agra. Parashar got his break in a recently-released film Dunno Y Naa Jaane Kyun which strangely featured the likes of Zeenat Aman and had Lata Mangeshkar warbling its title song, Dunnowhy…naajaanekuuu. Indeed! The film was a box-office fiasco.

A security guard from a Juhu building was allegedly slapped by Akshay Kumar, and then fired from his job. While Akshay and Twinkle insist that he pinched their son’s buttocks, the guard claims to have saved his life

Vickey Lalwani (MUMBAI MIRROR; January 13, 2011)

A security guard at Juhu’s The Grand Eastern Shores society was fired from his six-year-old job for allegedly misbehaving with Akshay Kumar’s eight-year-old son.

While 35-year-old Bhandari was swiftly dismissed from his position given Kumar’s clout, the security agency is claiming that their guard was simply doing his duty and preventing the boy from grave injury since he was entering a meter room in the building.

According to a resident of The Grand Eastern Shores, the boy and his father were visiting a family friend three weeks ago in the afternoon, when Akshay got drawn into a conversation with a resident upstairs. With his father’s attention moving away from him, the boy wandered down to the building’s lobby and straight into the room which had all the electricity meters. Bhandari, who spotted the eight-year-old walk into the meter room, sprang to his feet and pulled him out of there, before the child could touch any live wire and hurt himself.

After a few minutes, we hear, Akshay thundered down to the lobby, roughed up Bhandari, and slapped him not once, but twice.

According to the parents, Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna, Bhandari had misbehaved with the boy. Akshay called More >

Akshay slams David Dhawan for dissing Tees Maar Khan?

At Anil Kapoor’s party David Dhawan bitched out TMK. Akki called him up and gave him a piece of his mind. Incidentally David’s son is acting with him

Sonal Chawla and Kunal M Shah (MUMBAI MIRROR; December 31, 2010)

Anil Kapoor will not forget his birthday party for many years to come.

While there was a hiccup with Salman Khan and a fan getting slapped below his residence, inside there was an occasion to celebrate with Javed Akhtar and Salim Khan bonding warmly after ages.

However the after-affects of the party are still being felt. Apparently David Dhawan made some uncharitable comments about Akshay Kumar’s recently released film Tees Maar Khan and Akshay got wind of the news. But a livid phone call by Akshay did make David apologise.

Our source tells us, “David Dhawan entered the party with his two thumbs down saying ‘Tees Maar Khan pit gayee’. He announced that the reports of the film were not encouraging and that it was a bad film.

The film, which was to be released the next day, was said to be one of the hottest films of this year and the news that the film is not up to the mark has already spread since there were many trials of the film.

However one of the guests at the party told him that he should not say these things considering that Akshay Kumar is also the lead actor of his son Rohit’s film, Desi Boys.

Akshay Kumar got wind of all these facts and he called David to give him a piece of his mind. David agreed that he had said all this More >

Sallu slaps fan at Anil’s bash?

On being hugged and kissed by a fan outside Anil Kapoor’s residence, Salman slapped him. He then even had the footage of the incident deleted. A blow-by-blow account of the raadagiri…

Vickey Lalwani and Salma Khan (MUMBAI MIRROR; December 25, 2010)

After taking potshots at Sanjay Leela Bhansali for Guzaarish, Salman Khan has done it again. On Thursday night, outside Anil Kapoor’s Juhu residence, Salman slapped a man who kissed him.

An eyewitness told Mumbai Mirror, “The incident happened moments after Salman arrived at Anil Kapoor’s birthday bash. Just a few moments before this, Anil had escorted Salman’s father, Salim Khan, into the party. Salman was alighting from his car when all of a sudden a man, who appeared to be in his mid-20s and called himself Ajay, rushed towards him, hugged him and then kissed him.”

Added the eyewitness, “It seems Salman was in very high spirits. Without batting an eyelid, Salman slapped Ajay.”

Ajay, who had least expected this, apparently went flying to one corner; quite like Sunny Deol Sallu too can boast of a dhaai kilo ka haath. What followed this was even more shocking.

Zoom TV had managed to take grabs of Salman’s misdemeanor. When the actor turned around and saw this, he got upset. Immediately, two of Salman’s security guards came up and asked that this footage be deleted. Said the eyewitness, “Woh dadagiri karne lage. ‘Chal delete kar, chal jaldi delete kar,’ they said.”

…says actor Yash Pandit after bashing up model girlfriend in nightclub. After slapping his companion and dragging her out by her hair, Yash Pandit claimed he was merely trying to take her home. The battered model says they were simply very drunk

Nazia Sayed and Yogesh Sadhwani (MUMBAI MIRROR; November 15, 2010)

Beating up girlfriends and creating ruckus at public places is not just the ‘privilege’ of Bollywood A-listers. Some of the strugglers can give the big boys a huge run for their money. Around 2.45 am on Saturday at Aurus restaurant in Juhu, an argument between TV actor Yash Pandit, who also has a few forgettable movies to his name, and his model girlfriend Amruta Mane turned violent to such an extent that the place came to a standstill.

The restaurant bouncers got involved and cops were called in. But then, in a typical Bollywood style happy ending, the duo kissed and made up.

Yash Pandit and Amruta Mane

The drama began after Yash began screaming at Amruta, asking her to leave the place. Onlookers said both of them were heavily drunk, and so were around five of their friends. After a bout of yelling at each other, Yash slapped Amruta, who screamed back in rage. Abusing incessantly, Yash caught Amruta by the back of her head, twisted her arm and began dragging her out of the restaurant.

Eyewitnesses said Amruta too was hurling abuses at Yash on top of her voice and refused to leave. In a matter of 15 minutes, Yash must More >

Payal Rohatgi on the abuse, physical and mental, she endured while in a relationship with Rahul Mahajan

Vickey Lalwani (MUMBAI MIRROR; July 31, 2010)

// // //

•     Are you surprised that Rahul’s marriage has hit the rocks so soon?

Knowing Rahul, I am not surprised. He loves to change partners. For him, swayamvar was a gimmick. He offered me big money to participate in the show (pauses).

•    Go on… Rahul has been harassing me since the past two months. He has been sending me very odd messages at odd hours. Initially, I ignored his calls and messages, but eventually, I told him to lay off. But he continued.

•    What exactly has he been telling you?

He said, ‘I am sorry. We should work out things between us again.’ It all smacked of desperation. But Rahul is not a man of his word.

•    How long were you in a relationship with him?

Eight months. I was very serious about him and made a fool of myself.

•    Is Rahul aggressive?

Men have that in them if they are under the influence of something.

•    Drinks? Drugs?

No comments. Don’t drag me there.

•    What do you have to say about the company he keeps?

He is surrounded by people who don’t advise him well.

•    You haven’t answered my question. Is Rahul aggressive?

Yes, he is aggressive if and when he loses it.

•    How often does he lose it?

(Laughs) I didn’t count. But if he loses it, he is vindictive too.

•    Did he hit you?

Yes. It happened just before we went for Bigg Boss 3. I was late  by only More >

Hrithik-Barbara indulges in slap trap

0

By Kunal M Shah (MUMBAI MIRROR; March 18, 2010)

// // // A lot has been written about the off screen chemistry between Hrithik Roshan and his Kites co-star Barbara Mori – which they’ve chosen to deny – but the playful camaraderie they shared on the sets is something even the film’s director Anurag Basu vouches for.

“It was fun on the sets,” says Anurag, recounting a humorous incident. “We were doing an intense scene which had a long dialogue. Towards the end, Barbara was supposed to slap Hrithik. We okayed the scene. But Barbara asked me if it was possible to do a retake, because she wanted to slap Hrithik again. It was a prank, but I decided to play along. Duggu was very surprised when I told him we’d do the scene again because I’d already told him the earlier take was fine.”

Basu kept trying to convince Hrithik, but the actor had smelt a rat. “So when we shot again, just as Barbara was about to slap him, Duggu ducked and slapped her instead. Barbara was shocked. Then she realised that Hrithik had seen through her prank and everyone on the sets burst out laughing.”

Movie Review: ‘SHIKSHANACHYA AAICHA GHO!’ by FENIL SETA

0

What does 17 multiplied by 7 equal to? When was Alaudin Khilji born? When did Qutub-ud-din Aibak come to power?

It’ll be difficult to answer these questions and we don’t even care about it as it doesn’t concerns with whatever career we are pursuing. But the school-going students have to deal with such questions and their answers day after day and exam after exam. They have to study day and night and mug up answers of hundreds of such questions so that they can be promoted to next class. If they won’t, they’ll fail. Ironically, later in their life, they are, quite possibly, never ever going to feel the need to know about Alaudin Khilji in their life. Thus, without doubt, the education system is completely flawed. ‘Shikshanachya Aaicha Gho!’ deals with this issue and raises several valid points.

The story of the movie: Shrinivas Rane (Saksham Kulkarni) is extremely talented when it comes to cricket but is average in academics. His father Madhukar Rane (Bharat Jadhav) always persuaded him to leave his cricket classes and instead concentrate solely and fully on his studies. He is living with Shrinivas and daughter Durga (Gauri Vaidya) in a chawl. It becomes almost impossible for him to make two ends meet and regularly has to borrow money from Ibrahim Sheikh (Siddharth Jadhav), a goon-turned-businessman. Thus, Madhukar wanted Srinivas to work hard in studies so that he can have a secure future. After a point, he compelled Shrinivas to leave his cricket More >
