Ajay Devgn shows off his hot new bod and reveals why he’s allergic to six-pack
Roshni K Olivera (BOMBAY TIMES; May 9, 2011)
Ajay Devgn’s got a new look. It’s not the conventional six-pack, it’s a more realistic, brawny physique that the actor’s carved for himself. Clearly, Ajay’s not interested in short-term gains, he is in this too, for the long haul. “That’s what I have always believed in. At 65 and 70 too, I would like to lift the same kind of weights.”
A six-pack helps in sculpting your body and it makes you look strong, but you lose out on power, he says. The actor’s got a fantastic response to his new ‘power-packed’ appearance (see pic) from everyone and it’s just perfect, with raw manliness oozing out for his role in Singham of a tough cop from a village. The Shiva tattoo on his chest, which he’d got done last year, further enhances the look. Celeb trainer Prashant Saawant, who’s helped him get to this point in three months, says Ajay went through rigorous combination of weights and circuit super sets that incorporated all techniques including pushups and pull-ups, along with a highprotein low-carb diet. “He is absolutely disciplined and fantastic.”

Salman Khan has decided to stay off alcohol till he completes the shooting of his brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri’s My Love Story, which is a remake of the Malayalam film Bodyguard.
The role will require him to have his six-pack. This will take ten months. Let’s see if Salman who enjoys his Bacardis with coca colas and entertaining his friends at Galaxy Apartments sticks to his word.
But buzz is that for the past 22 days Sallu has not been in his cups.
Salman had put on a lot of weight for Dabangg, which required him to play a 45-year-old corrupt cop. That weight hadn’t been lost until recently.
There was no other way but to cut down on the booze. So obviously, the bacchanalian excesses at Galaxy apartments are now going to be put on hold until My Love Story is over.
Says a source, “Yes, Salman loves to drink, but he has now become very conscious after the stupendous success of Dabangg and Bigg Boss 4.”
Adds the source, “Abstaining from alcohol is not difficult for Salman. He has done this in the past.
In fact every year, he goes off hard drinks during the holy month of Ramzan and Ganesh Chaturthi festival.”
Salman is also very particular about his diet these days. “If he wants to get the six-pack in quick time, then an only no-alcohol policy will not help.
He is completely off carbohydrates as well,” reveals the source.
Bollywood Badshah giving his best shot for special song
Prithwish Ganguly | TNN (BOMBAY TIMES; December 22, 2010)
Even special after being song in the industry for 22 long years, Bollywood Badshah Shah Rukh Khan is keen to learn new things, a quality which he has possessed when he started his acting career. BT has learned that SRK, who starts shooting a high energy song-and-dance number today for Ra1, has learned gymnastics to pull off some aweinspiring steps and stunts in it.
Sources working on the sets confirm that SRK has trained to shoot this number for Anubhav Sinha. The last time the superstar had put in so much effort for a song was during the shooting of Chaiyan Chaiyan for Mani Ratnam’s Dil Se in which he grooved with Malaika Arora on a moving train.
The special song for Ra1 will have trapeze artists and many elements from the circus embedded into it. However shot , SRK for is not going to go shirtless, as reported earlier, or flaunt the six pack that he showcased in Om Shanti Om. It is said that 200 firang beauties have been hired just to shoot this song. “SRK will show the world that his injury and persistent back problems are a thing of the past. He has learnt gymnastics for the song and will also do trapeze stunts,” said the source.

BT would not like to hazard a guess on the relationship status between Shah Rukh Khan and Farah Khan, but the buzz in Bollywood is that the choreographer-director has mercilessly spoofed the Bollywood Badshah in her forthcoming film Tees Maar Khan. It is said that Akshaye Khanna’s role in the film is completely modelled on SRK. And the references to the superstar are as bold and direct as they can be. Trade pundits don’t find this unusual. They say the film was written by Farah’s husband Shirish Kunder, who doesn’t see eye-to-eye with SRK, and naturally — the script-writer would have lampooned the Bollywood Badshah given the opportunity. So, Shirish’s script has Akshaye suffering from a terrible back ache for which he has to constantly go to London for treatment. And, there’s Akshaye in his opening shot talking about showing off his six-pack and going topless for a scene, which will remind viewers of SRK’s Dard-e-Disco number in Om Shanti Om. Also, there’s an international filmmaker coincidentally named Danny who comes to meet Akshaye and is kept waiting for six hours before Akshaye declines his film offer. Anil Kapoor, who plays a cameo in TMK, then replaces Akshaye in this international film that wins an Oscar and Akshaye is shown regretting his decision. Which is really what happened when Danny Boyle approached SRK for Slumdog Millionaire with the role that Anil More >
Salman Khan on the ‘big’ development happening on Indian TV tonight
Team BT | TNN (BOMBAY TIMES; November 15, 2010)
Last week she scored a 10 doing the tango and rumba in Tel Aviv with Australian dancer Damian Whitewood for Israel’s reality show Dancing With the Stars. Just before that, she addressed students at Oxford on vegetarianism. Then, after posing nude in New York for the January issue of Playboy — her 11th cover for the magazine, she upset hardline Islamic groups by offering to donate that fee to a charity helping Indonesian disaster victims. And now, at 43, the former Baywatch star and sex symbol Pamela Anderson is entering the controversial Bigg Boss house in Lonavala tonight as a wild card entry meant to take the reality show’s TRPs sky high. The buzz is that she will be in for three days only, from Tuesday to Thursday, for which Pamela is being paid an astronomical Rs 2.5 crore, which is reportedly twice the amount paid to any other contestant.
With Pamela’s imminent entry, we wonder what’s going in the minds of Ashmit Patel, Hrishant Goswami, Manoj Tiwari, Sameer Soni and the Great Khali! The mercury indoors is sure to soar with the entry of Hugh Hefner’s most famous playmate; after all, she has the body and attitude to kill for. The men inside (and outside the house, as well) must be hoping that she will bring her bootylicious body to the swimming pool to tan her curves in the warm Indian sun. And while Veena More >
…because fans and the Tamil film fraternity will come out in his support — a bonding which, Sanjay Dutt says, Bollywood has lost. Sanjay gets into straight-talk mode with Anshul Chaturvedi, and doesn’t mince his words

Two hours daily in the gym; driving at 250 kmph on the Expressway; excited to-be dad; still as jittery, in your own words, as a newcomer when a release approaches — in this case, “Knock Out”. So how’s 51 different from what 28 may have been?
Actually, nothing much has changed…. I do drive the car myself. I’m looking forward to the twins. I do get nervous; I remember how I was before Lamhaa’s release — a little jittery. And it’s not deliberate — this is just how I am.
And you’re fitter at 51 than you were at 21?
I think so. And in fact, my current focus on gymming is also because, if you notice, in Blue and Kidnap, I’d let myself go a little. Case sar pe thaa, the judgment was about to come out and to bring focus to cinema was difficult for me at that stage. Fitness was hardly a priority.
It was such a big accusation. Being part of a terror activity? My God! When the judge said that you always wanted to hear this, that your dad always wanted to hear this, you are acquitted from the terror charge — that moment was the greatest moment of relief in my life. I had let myself go around that time, and I got a lot of mail, a lot of fan reactions, saying, ‘you started More >
For the first time, she’s not choreographing an SRK film
Prithwish Ganguly | TNN (BOMBAY TIMES; October 5, 2010)
For the first time ever, filmmaker Farah Khan is not choreographing a Shah Rukh Khan produced movie and this has got tongues wagging. It has been repeatedly said that the once best friends Farah and SRK have gone separate ways and that she has been heavily bonding with Salman Khan, an industry rival of SRK after their bitter fall out at Katrina Kaif ’s birthday a couple of years back. Though close friends of Farah say that time constraints have not allowed her to do SRK’s Ra.1 as she is mighty busy with her own movie Tees Maar Khan, many others in the industry say that everything’s still not fine between the two. For ten years, every movie that Shah Rukh produced, Farah had been the choreographer, including Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani, Asoka, Chalte Chalte, Main Hoon Na, Kaal, Paheli and Om Shanti Om. From making SRK workout to sport a six pack and go shirtless on screen to the more aesthetic song and dance sequences of Paheli, Farah has experimented, innovated and gone larger in her approach to make a song for Shah Rukh. But unfortunately fo Ra.1, it seems like Farah’s name wil not appear in the credit list.
According to a source, “The benefit of doubt in this situation is that Farah does have an alibi. She has been slogging her life out for Tees Maar Khan She is also a mother to three and so automatically can’t More >
…not his cool, but his six-pack to play Bihari cop
Sharin Wader Butani | TNN (BOMBAY TIMES; July 26, 2010)
Imagine the agony Salman Khan had to go through when he was asked to lose his sixpack abs for Dabbang. Putting him through this torture was his own brother, producer Arbaaz Khan. Salman, the shirtless, original macho man of Bollywood, is playing a Bihari cop in the film, and the paan-chewing cops of Bihar are nowhere near being that fit. Sallu had to look the part so he went on a special diet, probably gave in to all his cravings and got rid of his super abs. The actor, who doesn’t miss his exercise routine, learned table tennis in a day to keep himself fit as he didn’t want to completely go from being all fab to all flab.
FIT AND FINE: Salman Khan
Salman Khan is back to his six-pack ways in his new film releasing this month
MARK MANUEL Times News Network (BOMBAY TIMES; January 10, 2009)
There are many Bollywood stars I would like to interview by candlelight, but Salman Khan is not one of them. Yet there we were at his place late on Wednesday night, myself struggling to take down notes, the candle flickering; he in jeans and tee having shed the armour of Veer, smooth muscles rippling in the dark shadows, glass in hand, cigarette in the mouth. While his new 25-day-old French Mastiff pup, just finding its feet, snapped at my ankles and domestic helps, electricians, and the security men of Galaxy Apartments struggled to bring back the lights. It was high drama! He had just got back from doing interviews at Mehboob Studios. And waiting for him was a young choreographer to lead him through the steps of a dance he was doing at some awards function last night. At least, the choreographer was prancing around, Salman watched with a frown. “The next step is Bang-Bang,” the choreographer was saying. “Bang-Bang,” Salman said incredulously, “Woh kya hota hai?” Then to me he turned and said, “Ask!” That’s when the house plunged into darkness.
Much, much later, electricity partially restored, he talked to me about Veer, his new big film for Eros International Media Ltd. produced by Vijay Galani and directed by Anil Sharma that’s releasing on January 22. “It has the authenticity of Mughal-e-Azam and More >
Heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor is India’s Most Desirable Man in ZOOM Top 50 listMADHUREETA MUKHERJEE Times News Network (BOMBAY TIMES; January 8, 2010)
Maybe it’s the ‘rocket’ in his ‘pocket’. Maybe it’s the wide awake Sid in him. Maybe it’s his real life ajabghazab prem kahani or the success of his Katrina pairing. Maybe it’s nothing more than his Kapoor genes and that charming demeanour — but without doubt, Ranbir Kapoor has emerged the topper of the ‘ZOOM 50 Most Desirable’ hotties list for 2009. Nope, he didn’t have to bare his butt (like last year’s winner John Abraham) — Ranbir did that already in his first film, remember? Nor did this Kapoor boy didn’t need a six-pack to win this much desired list, just a sweeping vote and very close competition from a bunch of hunks that pushed him to the limit. The Red Hot Countdown — ZOOM’s master countdown to beat all countdowns, had its annual competition to compile a list of India’s hottest — men and women. And with Katrina emerging hottest Indian woman, what with her class act and her huge fan base, it needed Ranbir to become the ghazab partner to Katz in this hot sweepstakes.
The list, compiled on the basis of online voting on www.zoomtv.in and via SMS, along with an elite, informed panel deciding the final winners, had voters pushing the buttons to vote in their favourites.
