Motherhood has brought about a drastic change in Shilpa Shetty’s professional life. She works only once a week, on Tuesdays. “So Raj (Kundra) makes sure that he is around to look after the baby on that day,” says the actress, adding, “I still feel guilty. It is like taking away one day from my baby’s life, but I more than make up for it on the rest of the days.” Shilpa, who even tried bringing her son Viaan on the set of the dance reality show she is currently judging. “It was very hard for me to stay away from him for 12 hours in the beginning, but then I felt I was being selfish by doing so when he can have his own space at home and enjoy with his father,” she explains. Shilpa has decided not to accept film offers for the next two years, but when it comes to her own production Dishkiyaaoon, the actress keeps us guessing whether she will be part of the film or not. “Now that is going to be a surprise!” she says animatedly.

Shilpa Shetty’s upcoming production venture was to star close friend Sanjay Dutt in an extended cameo role. However, the actor is no longer a part of the film and has been replaced by Sunny Deol.

Buzz is that owing to his crammed timetable, Sanjay had to opt out of the project, which stars Harman Baweja in the lead role. The actor was unable to shoot since a long time, courtesy his hectic film schedule. Sources say Shilpa had no choice but to sign Sunny for the role.

Our source says, “Shilpa had been waiting for a long time for Sanjay’s dates but he has an extremely packed schedule. The actress- turned- producer was not ready to wait any longer and signed Sunny Deol for her film.” Sunny has apparently charged a whopping Rs 3 crore for the project.

The source adds, “Shilpa wants to complete the film as soon as possible and move on to make her next project. Sanjay and she are very close and Sanjay has joined hands with her husband Raj Kundra for their business venture.”

Sanjay had to give bulk dates for Rajkumar Hirani’s next. A source close to Sanjay and Shilpa says, “There are no disputes and they parted ways amicably.” While Shilpa remained unavailable for comment, Sanjay’s office confirms the buzz. A spokesperson from the actor’s office states, “Yes, Sanju sir is not doing the film as he had given bulk dates to Hirani for P.K. and his film Policegiri with TP Agarwal. Shilpa Shetty-Kundra reveals how she regained her pre-baby body in just a few months

Everybody is talking about how quickly you got back into shape so soon after your pregnancy… I have always been known for my body, health and fitness. However, for five months after Viaan was born I didn’t think of my weight. I was not able to do some things that I used to do earlier as I had put on 20 kilos. I realised this one day when I bent to pick up Viaan. More than about not being fat it was about being fit. Fortunately, I had a good trainer. After five-and-a-half months of exercise I had lost 18 kilos.

Any tips for new mommies? If I can lose weight, anyone can. I would like to tell new mothers not to ignore themselves. It’s just about exercising for an hour every day for four-five days a week and eating right. Usually, mothers use the excuse of not having any time for exercising, as they are busy looking after the child. But that’s just being lazy. For the first nine months, a child sleeps a lot. Mothers should utilise that time to do some cardio and gymming. Remember you are doing it for yourself and to be fit.

How about bringing out your DVD on it? Shemaroo has been asking me and I take it as a huge compliment. When I brought out my first DVD, it was something that came from my heart. Yoga is something I practiced and it was my way giving back to people who believed in fitness.

Hit-N-Fit Shilpa Shetty wants to be shot again

We were the first to tell you that Bollywood stars had spontaneously taken part in the campaign to save the girl child. In fact, Hema Malini, Sonakshi Sinha, Raveena Tandon and Shamita and Shilpa Shetty have already shot for the song, which is supposed to go on air soon. But Shilpa has requested director Raajev Walia to shoot her segment again. And it has more to do with all the pregnancy weight that she has lost. According to a source, “Shilpa had shot her portion when she was pregnant. Now that she has lost 10-12 kg, she requested Raajev to shoot her part again.”

We hear the actress shot her portion few days back at her Juhu bungalow, looking every bit the yummy mummy she would want the world to remember her as.

In May last year, Shilpa Shetty gave birth to a boy who the world now knows as Viaan. But it is yet to know what the baby boy looks like.

Sources say that the proud mum plans to bring Viaan to the upcoming IPL tournament so that people can finally see what he looks like.

Our source says, “Like other Bollywood star parents, Shilpa and Raj Kundra made sure no photo of their son Viaan was leaked to the press. So be it while taking him home from the hospital or during their recent Jodhpur trip to attend a wedding, the actress made sure Viaan was not seen in public.” However, this year in April when the IPL season begins, the couple has decided to finally reveal their son’s face to the world. The source adds, “ Shilpa thought this would be the right time as Viaan would nearly be one-year- old then. He is now used to seeing lot of people around him.” Yesterday, Shilpa left with her family to visit the Kumbh Mela in Allahabad.

Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty Kundra emphasises on need for women to learn basic self-defence techniques

Actress Shilpa Shetty Kundra, who is a part of the ongoing DNA Women’s Self Defence Camp, reveals that learning self-defence for women is not a choice anymore, but the need of the hour. “It is high time that we learn to protect ourselves before the laws are amended and made more stringent to ward off any anti-social element,” shares the actress. The camp is being held in association with her hubby, businessman Raj Kundra’s Super Fight League (SFL).

“This camp is a great way to encourage women in basic self-defence moves. It also boosts confidence in case of any unwanted situation. And if I can do it, then so can you or any other woman,” adds Shilpa.

The Bollywood star also insists that women need to know that they are not helpless. “It’s ridiculous to hear people talk about

snatching away a woman’s rights and freedom to curb crime. Why can’t we dress glamorous or move out late at night? In fact, these very things can be put to good use in times of need. Use your heels to fight off your attacker and even nails can be used as weapons,” shares Shilpa.

“Once you realise that you are equipped to tackle your attackers, it reflects in your body language. With knowledge of self-defence moves, you become more confident, which puts the attacker at a disadvantage,” she explains.

Stars come together in a massive awareness campaign that’ll go live next month

In an initiative that will definitely be welcomed by the country’s billion, top stars from Bollywood will come together in a campaign to raise awareness for the girl child. The video, which has been envisaged along the lines of the immensely popular and rousing Mile Sur Mera Tumhara, in all likelihood will see Sonakshi Sinha, Hema Malini, Raveena Tandon, Sushmita Sen, Shilpa Shetty and Nagarjuna, to name a few, lip sync to the song by Shankar Mahadevan and Sunidhi Chauhan. The music has been scored by Nikhil Kamath. A source close to the development revealed: A production house has been entrusted with the job of shooting the stars at their respective homes for the collage that will be put together. The song, titled Betiyaan has been allocated to each of the stars. The film is being directed by ad man and filmmaker Rajeev Walia, who heard the song and approached the government with the idea to use it for a larger cause. Sajid Khan calls Terence Lewis Mr Google

Terence Lewis, who is the face of dance reality shows on the small screen, is currently judging Nach Baliye 5 with filmmaker Sajid Khan and actress Shilpa Shetty.

As Terence is the only judge on the panel who is a choreographer-dancer, Sajid has nicknamed him Google due to his knowledge of dance forms.

According to a unit source, “Whenever any of the participants come on stage and perform, Terence quickly figures what dance form it is. He has lots to add about its origin, background and popularity.” Due to his passion for dance and knowledge of the craft, Sajid began calling him Google.

Adds a source, “Just like a person would go on the Internet on the search engine to get details about the dance form, Terence is a walking encyclopedia of information. So whenever he starts talking about a particular dance, Sajid immediately refers to him stating Mr Google is at work.” Terence has trained in jazz, ballet and contemporary dance in New York. As dance is his passion, every bit of detail about it is equally important to him.

Raj Kundra gifts her 3000 sq ft duplex in Noida’s tallest building

Raj Kundra and his penchant for penthouses especially when they are a present for his wife Shilpa Shetty is unprecedented. The man who reportedly bought a flat worth over Rs 7 crore in Central London for Shilpa’s birthday in 2009, has now invested in a sprawling 3000 sq ft duplex apartment in Noida’s newest luxury residence Supernova. At 80 storeys, the building is the tallest in the area.

A source told Mumbai Mirror, “He had been visiting Noida frequently. Obviously he had been checking out properties there.”

Apparently, Kundra wanted to surprise his wife and new baby with a present.

After the success of his sports- based television show, he is looking forward to his new venture with Mary Kom. He remained unavailable when we tried to get in touch with him about his latest property acquisition. However, a friend of his called to say,“This is his gift to Shilpa. He owns a property in the tallest building in Dubai. And now, he has one in the tallest building in India.”
