Delhi Belly has brought the change-Shenaz Treasuryvala

By Devansh Patel, July 6, 2011 – 15:21 IST

It was just one of those dull and dreary afternoons when I decided to text Shenaz Treasuryvala who is busier than a bee shuffling her career between New York and Mumbai. I receive the text saying ‘4pm Basilico’. The clock ticks and another text reads – ‘I’m under the weather so can’t do pics’. That was that! But it’s only when you meet Shenaz that you wish she was your girlfriend. Forget all the L’Oreals, Olays and Luxs of the world. Shenaz arrives in her unkempt bundles of conflicting emotions. Dressed in a dark blue sleeveless outfit she looked Woody’s Maria Elena from Vicky Cristina Barcelona. Shenaz’s spectacular energy raises hell across the beauty of Basilico’s woody ambience. Sexy, smart and funny, she can feed your heart and soul in equal measure once she starts talking. We order for two glasses of ‘sugarfree’ melon juice without ice. The lady likes it like that. An eye-catching and an eloquent young woman whose career is sure to last long beyond the Delhi Belly‘s success, Shenaz is going at everything coming her way as long as it’s her style. She loves being auditioned and she knows she’ll nail it, and that ain’t Shenaz talking, that’s her confidence. More about her confidence? Not many know that it was her audition tapes of Dhobi Ghat that Kiran Rao saw which eventually got picked up by Aamir Khan and before Shenaz knew it, she was cast opposite Imran Khan in what has become a ‘game changer’ of Indian cinema – Delhi More >

I play a sexy man-eating girl in One Life To Live-Shenaz Treasuryvala

By Nikhil Ramsubramaniam, February 16, 2011 – 15:16 IST

A few weeks ago we had informed you about Shenaz Treasuryvala featuring in the popular American soap opera ‘One Life To Live’. We caught up with the chirpy actress who is busy shooting for the show in New York for a quick tête-à-tête. Read on…

First things first Shenaz, how did you bag this TV show One Life To Live? A few months ago, I came to the States for a wedding in San Diego, after which I flew to New York to visit friends. My co-star in Delhi Belly, Poorna (my darling super-talented, best friend and angel) introduced me to her agent who sent me to an audition for ‘One Life To Live’. It was my first audition in the U.S. and I went in for fun, not expecting anything, which is probably the best attitude to have. As luck would have it, I got shortlisted and called back the next day and then got called back the next week again to meet producers, after which I had to do another screen test. The audition process itself took a couple of months, so I extended my trip and subleased an apartment here. By this time, I really wanted to get this. I went through many rounds and out of 1000 odd girls in LA and NY, they chose 15 and then 9 and then finally 2. I was one of the two. I waited a few weeks with bated breath.

And then you bagged the coveted role… Well not really…you won’t believe it but in the end, they called me More >
