Sizzling Bipasha Basu back with a Fitness DVD
0BOMBAY TIMES (December 23, 2012)
After the success of her first fitness DVD, Fit And Fabulous You, Bipasha Basu is set to launch a second one — Break Free. Says Bipasha, “While the first DVD was more of a functional type, combining cardio, strength and abs, this one is a dance routine comprising 68 moves, starting with warmup, main section and Bollywood routine. In India, we dance for all occasions and Bollywood steps are very famous. So much so, that it’s termed as a genre in an international dance reality show. The idea is to use dance as medium for workouts.”
Working with a choreographer, Bipasha says she started with four moves for each body part —— especially problem areas like the tummy, loose arms and love handles. “I had to put together the steps first and then add the music for every step to the beat of eight. Once I finalised the steps for a 30-minute routine, I had to set the tempo,” she adds.
Hiren Gada, Director, Shemaroo Entertainment, which is releasing the DVD, says, “We worked closely with Bipasha Basu to produce her first fitness video — Fit And Fabulous You, which was a grand success. With this second video, Break Free, we want to continue the success story. Her keen interest in fitness has helped her to achieve a great and fit body, which, we’re sure, will inspire many others to follow through. We have completed 50 years in the entertainment industry and have moved ahead in accordance with our customers’ tastes. We are sure that our audience will More >
Films producer issues notice to BCCI, ICC
0Chittaranjan Tembhekar | TNN (THE TIMES OF INDIA; April 12, 2011)
Mumbai: Playing of popular Bollywood songs to celebrate boundaries and sixes at Wankhede during the World Cup 2011 may have enthralled cricket fans, but this practice has now landed the event’s organizers in trouble. Novex Communications, Yash Raj Films’s authorized agency which issues licences for use of film songs and promos at public events, has issued notices to International Cricket Council (ICC), Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) for alleged ‘infringement of copyright’ and has demanded a fine of Rs 25 lakh against the “damage” caused. The agency has also registered a complaint with the Marine Drive police, seeking civil or criminal procedure against those involved in the alleged breach of law.
“We have received the complaint and are making an inquiry into the matter,” Zunjarrao Gharal, senior inspector at the Marine Drive police station, said.
BCCI chief Ratnakar Shetty refused to comment on the matter, saying permissions were taken in most of the cases. MCA’s Lalchand Rajput said his organization had no role to play as ICC was the event organizer.
In its notice to ICC CEO Haroon Lorgat on March 26, Novex had requested him to stop the playing of copyrighted content without permission. “We have been authorized by Yash Raj Films Pvt Ltd to grant public performance licences. The violations are cognizable and nonbailable offences,” said More >
