Will Hrithik-Bhansali team up again?
0Sources say that Hrithik Roshan is ready to forget the failure of ‘Guzaarish’ and work with Sanjay Leela Bhansali
Jigar Shah (MID-DAY; July 2, 2012)
Guzaarish might have been a much-hyped film before its release, but its extremely dismal performance at the box office was also widely discussed. And after that, not many expected Hrithik Roshan to want to work with director Sanjay Leela Bhansali again.
But looks like Hrithik is willing to let bygones be bygones and sources say the actor could be gearing up to work with Bhansali again. Our sources tell us, “SLB’s film is a love story based in Europe where the hero is on a bicycle trip through Europe when he falls in love with a girl. Hrithik has given a verbal ‘yes’ for the film. The project will go on floor only after he finishes his superhero film and Bhansali completes his next with Ranveer Singh and Kareena Kapoor. “
The source adds, “It also seems a right kind of break for Hrithik after two action packed roles in Agneepath and Krrish 3.” Sanjay Leela Bhansali chose not to revert to our SMSes.
Bhansali’s next on Romeo and Juliet
0After the 2002 adaptation of Devdas, the director has now trained his sights on the classic Romeo and Juliet
Kunal M Shah (MUMBAI MIRROR; January 30, 2012)
In an interview with Mumbai Mirror, Sanjay Leela Bhansali had revealed that his next venture, the script of which was already in place, will be a ‘dhin tadak’ film unlike his recent ventures into darker cinema. “I am making a musical film with a lot of romance,” the filmmaker had said. And now, Mirror has learnt that the romantic saga will be none other than an adaptation of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet.
While rumours suggested that Bhansali would be making his long awaited Bajirao Mastani or Heera Mandi or Padmavati, a source close to the filmmaker revealed that SLB has finally zeroed down on the famous love saga instead. This film will be based in Gujarat and Bhansali intends to start the pre production in April.
Our source informed that the filmmaker is now keen on casting Kareena Kapoor and Ranveer Singh as the two protagonists in his adaptation of Romeo and Juliet. “Sanjay Leela Bhansali has already discussed his plans with Kareena. He is now awaiting her reply. He is yet to speak to Ranveer about his intentions to cast him in the film,” added the source.
Interestingly, Bhansali’s friend-turned-foe Ismail Darbar is also in the process of making his own adaptation of the Shakespeare classic. “Bhansali has already started getting his team together for the pre production. Since the film is based in Gujarat, the More >
Aditya Narayan to work as Production guy for Bhansali?
0Amrapali Sharma (MUMBAI MIRROR; January 18, 2012)
After trying his hand at singing, acting and anchoring TV shows, singer Udit Narayan’s son Aditya Narayan has now joined Sanjay Leela Bhansali as a Production Assistant, a source close to Aditya revealed. Aditya will be part of the production crew of Sanjay’s next production, which is about to begin. Apparently, he wants to learn the finer nuances of film making from the renowned filmmaker.
Other star kids too have been known to learn the art of direction and acting from Sanjay namely Sonam Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor. Aditya however will be getting into production. When contacted, Sanjay opted to remain silent. However, Sandeep Singh, CEO of his production house, completely denied any such development, saying Aditya hadn’t met Sanjay but had only met him for some career guidance. Aditya too preferred not to comment.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali all set to direct his next film
0By Joginder Tuteja, October 12, 2011 – 11:31 IST
It has been almost a year since Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s last film Guzaarish hit the screens. However, ever since then Bhansali seems to have taken to production in a big way with no news yet about next film as a director. Prod him about the so-called ‘delay’ and one is bound to get an amused stare from the maverick filmmaker.
“Everyone seems to be worried more than Sanjay himself about why his next film has not yet gone on floors. They are forgetting that he has always worked at his own pace and never made films in hurry”, says a close associate of the filmmaker, “Ever since he turned full fledged director a decade and a half back, he has made only six films. That makes it one film every two and a half years. Wonder why there have been so many speculations.”
Guess these speculations pretty much stem from the fact that as a producer he has as many as three films lined up in quick succession. There is My Friend Pinto which releases this Friday, Rowdy Rathore which is over 50% complete and arrives next summer and Shirin Farhad Ki Nikal Padi which goes on floors this December. With so much already in the pipeline, one wonders whether Sanjay isn’t itching to get behind the camera all over again and call the shots.
“Well, definitely yes, there is a strong urge to direct again”, comes a quick response from Sanjay, “In fact the script is currently being written and I have things lined up. Come May and I should be starting shoot for More >
