Jimmy Shergill to play 21-year-old in Dhulia’s next
0Shakti Shetty (MID-DAY; August 24, 2012)
Jimmy Shergill who is back from shooting the sequel of Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster surprised director Tigmanshu Dhulia by his lean makeover. The change in his appearance has landed him another film which is a satire based in Chambal Valley. But the filmmaker wants him to lose more weight to fit the bill. And Jimmy has agreed to do the needful.
Apparently Tigmanshu, who is the creative producer of the film, had been looking for someone to play an innocent-looking 21-year-old villager for quite sometime now and is glad that his casting search is done. The filmmaker adds, “After working with Jimmy in four films, I know his potential as an actor. I was surprised to see him looking so lean and young. And given his commitment, he’ll do what it takes to justify the role. Since it is a performance-driven role, I know he would fit the bill perfectly too.”
On the other hand, Jimmy is currently in the process of shedding extra kilos by hiring a dietician and a personal trainer. His workout regime starts early in the morning everyday and goes on for two hours in spite of his recurring neck and spine problem. We also heard that the project will be filmed at similar locations where Tigmanshu’s previous film Paan Singh Tomar was shot.
Sex scenes in Saheb Biwi sequel toned down
0Mehul S Thakkar (MUMBAI MIRROR; August 16, 2012)
Tigmanshu Dhulia’s 2011 film, Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster became popular as much for its gripping storyline, as the uninhibited display of sensuality by its lead actors Jimmy Shergill, Mahie Gill and Randeep Hooda. Surprisingly, for its sequel, the makers have decided to tone down the steamy scenes – not because they want to, but because their lead actor Irrfan Khan believes that a strong subject can do without skin show.
In fact, when we contacted the actor, he replied in the affirmative. “I had full faith in the subject of Saheb Biwi Gangster Returns. Also, I am in line with the makers’ conviction vis-à-vis treatment of the film,” Irrfan told Mirror.
Producer Rahul Mittra, too, confirmed that the sequel has indeed been toned down.
A source close to the project however, revealed more. “Tigmanshu and Irrfan share a great rapport. When they went on floors with the film, they had a brainstorming session over the amount of skin show. Irrfan was of the opinion that with a strong script, the project required no steamy scenes,” said the source.
And Tigmanshu seconded the thought. “However, there are some romantic scenes between Irrfan and the two lead actresses Mahie Gill and Soha Ali Khan. And they have been shot aesthetically,” added the source.
Interestingly, to make up for the lost steam, Neha Dhupia has been roped in for an item number in the film.

Soha Ali Khan is finally on Twitter
0Sneha Mahadevan (DNA; June 21, 2012)
For actor Soha Ali Khan, who is known to be an intensely private person, it was a very difficult decision to take to join the micro-blogging site, Twitter. The actor is not much of a party person and is hardly spotted at events or parties. Even otherwise, Soha, who is a self confessed book-worm has admitted on earlier occasions that she finds solace in books. She is also someone who isn’t comfortable talking about her personal life but after months of contemplation she decided to give in. The actor is finally on Twitter after avoiding it for many years. She signed up on the website a month ago and her Twitter handle is @sakpataudi.
Talking about her decision, a source close to the actor says, “Soha was always skeptical about joining Twitter, especially because she is not the kind to interact on social platforms. But people around her finally convinced her to take a shot and give it a try.” Networking aside, Soha is currently in London, to attend the lunch organised at Lords in honour of her father, late Mansur Pataudi, along with the rest of her family including mother, actor Sharmila Tagore, brother Saif Ali Khan and his beau, actor Kareena Kapoor. Before this, she was in Gujarat for over two months, shooting for the sequel of Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster.
Besides the current film, she will also start shooting for another one from July. A source reveals, “Soha has completed shooting for Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster and now moves on to More >
Randeep Hooda out of Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster sequel?
0Kunal M Shah (MID-DAY; June 20, 2012)
Randeep Hooda, who won several accolades for his role in Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster, is no longer a part of the film’s sequel. Initially slated to play a vital character, Hooda could not make it on time for the shoot due to date problems. Director Tigmanshu Dhulia has done away with the entire track featuring Hooda and Mahie Gill.
A source informs, “Randeep was always supposed to be a part of the sequel. However, the dates clashed with the shooting of Jism 2. He has been shooting for Jism 2 in Sri Lanka and could not make it to Gujarat where the shooting of the sequel of Saheb Biwi… is about to be wrapped up.
Although Jism 2 unit is back, Randeep had to juggle between his dates for Heroine and Shooter and was unable to make it to Gujarat. Incidentally his track had him and Mahie Gill and now Tigmanshu has decided to do away with it.” Randeep Hooda tells us, “I am trying to make it and be a part of the sequel but I have been shooting back to back for my three films and it’s hectic. So I have been unable to shoot for the film.”
Producer Rahul Mitra says, “As we all know that Randeep dies in the first part and we were thinking of bringing him back as a character which Mahi’s imagines or hallucinates. But he had date problems and with my schedule almost over with just two days work remaining, we decided to do away with the track.
It wasn’t a major role anyway and we had no need to add any other track. We would have loved to have Randeep in More >
