The singer will celebrate his birthday, 25 years in the music industry and freedom from Sabah Galadari at his residence this weekend

Adnan Sami has a lot of reasons to celebrate. Firstly, he turns a year older on August 15. Also, he completes 25 years in the music industry. And before we forget, he had promised to celebrate his freedom after acquiring divorce from his wife Sabah Galadari earlier this year. And thus, the singer is all set to party on the Independence Weekend, August 18 at his Mumbai residence.

A source close to Adnan told Mirror, “He is completing 25 years as a musician. Celebrations are in order. Also, it is his birthday. So he has planned a bash at his home. He has invited everybody who he has worked with from the music and film industries.”

The source claimed that the singer, who is now in a happy state of mind, has been losing a lot of weight. To this newspaper, Adnan had earlier said, right after the divorce battle was over, “My wife Roya, my mother and I suffered a lot. I just want to get along with my life now.” Needless to say, he is sticking to his plans.

And to celebrate his new life, Adnan has a wonderful buffet planned for the party. “He spent about three hours last evening with the house chef planning the menu. After three long years, a bitter fight and occasional mud-slinging in the media, Adnan Sami and his second wife Sabah Galadari have finally been pronounced ‘divorced’ by the Bombay High Court. On Tuesday, Justice Roshan Dalvi of Bombay High Court upheld Adnan’s plea and declared that the couple was no longer man and wife according to Muslim laws.

Finally free from a relationship that had turned sour, Adnan now plans to throw a big bash in Dubai that his friends – both in public gaze and politics, from India as well as Pakistan are expected to attend. “My wife Roya, my mother and I suffered a lot. I just want to get along with my life now,” said the happy musician.

But before getting on with his new life, Adnan perhaps chose to settle past scores. He filed a complaint with various authorities including the Commissioner of Police stating that Sabah is using a fake passport to travel in and out of India.

Through his lawyer Vibhav Krishna, Adnan has mentioned in the complaint, Sabah is a UAE national and has falsely declared facts in her passport and has also secured a new passport for herself based on it. Roya won’t let Sabah have her way

On Thursday after Adnan’s ex-wife Sabah Galadari got a court order restraining Adnan from visiting Dubai for an event, Adnan’s current wife Roya flew to Dubai to attend it on her husband’s behalf.

And ironically, this function was held at a hotel in Dubai owned by Sabah!

Barely able to contain his emotions, Adnan said, “Sabah didn’t realize I’m no longer alone. She thought the function will be cancelled and she will be victorious. But there’s a God.”

Minutes after the court restrained Adnan from leaving for Dubai, his wife took a flash decision, packed her bags and left.

Says Adnan, “Roya was very upset. She caught the flight at the scheduled time, reached Dubai, attended the function at her soutan’s hotel, and made sure it was a success.”

When contacted in Dubai, Roya said, “The launch went off beautifully. Adnan was there in spirit. No one can give grief to my husband and get away with it.”

Trouble seems to be a constant with Pakistani singer Adnan Sami. Yesterday, he was shocked to learn that the Metropolitan Court had debarred him from leaving for a show in Dubai, thanks to his wife Sabah Galadari objecting to it.

Sabah objected to Adnan’s application to travel to Dubai. She was apprehensive that Adnan might flee India and go absconding from Dubai.

Adnan’s lawyer Vaibhav Krishnan tried very hard to get his client the permission he desired but all his efforts proved to be futile.

Confirming this Sabah’s lawyer, Edith Day, told Mumbai Mirror, “Yes, we were apprehensive that Adnan might not return from Dubai.

Hence we appealed to the court to not allow him the visit.”

Added Edith, “We raised our objection on the grounds that Adnan still has to pay Rs 20 lakh as penalty imposed by FEMA (Foreign Exchange Management Act) for purchasing his flat without the required permission from RBI (Reserve Bank Of India).”

The couple in the picture — the roly-poly Pakistani musician of Canadian nationality Adnan Sami and his fourth begum, the Munich-based Afghani technical engineer Roya Faryabi — look happily in love… but all is not calm and peaceful at home. The Family Court has ordered Roya not to stay in the plush apartment at Lokhandwala Complex that technically belongs to Adnan’s third wife Sabah Galadari — apparently, the flat was bought with her money, and Sabah discovered Roya was living there when she went to check up on her pet dogs that Adnan still looks after. The court order came in the wake of another complaint filed by Sabah against Adnan under the Protection of Women From Domestic Violence Act.

But, in what appears to be an act of love more than defiance, Roya is willing to bear the consequences rather than be separated from Adnan. She has no intention of moving out of the Lokhandwala apartment. A Family Court order directs Adnan Sami’s third wife Roya Fariyabi to leave the house he’s living in since it belongs to his second wife Sabah Galadari

Adnan Sami’s marriage woes have surfaced again. In a few days from now, his third wife Roya Fariyabi will have to leave the Oberoi Skyheights flat in Lokhandwala for good. She is currently living there with Adnan.

Recently, Roya and Adnan returned from Islamabad after meeting his parents, only to receive an order fom the Family Court stating that only Adnan can live in their flat.

Since the flat Adnan is currently living in belongs to his second wife Sabah Galadari, divorcing her will actually have fewer benefits for him. He might just be homeless, unless of course he finds an alternative accomodation by that time.

Strangely, Adnan has not paid heed to the Family Court order. A source says, “If Roya does not leave the flat, Adnan’s second wife Sabah Galadari will file legal proceedings against him. Thereafter, the law will ensure that he vacates the flat.”

The Family Court’s order has come in the wake of an application filed by Sabah under the provision of the Protection Of Women From Domestic Violence Act, “Sabah has started another war now. She is not going to take anything lying down,” says the source.

Yes, Adnan Sami is getting married… in an undisclosed part of Europe on January 31 to German girl Roya Faryabi.

“All our family members are going to be at the wedding. I’d like all my friends from Mumbai to accompany me. Unfortunately, there’s no time for them to make travel arrangements. So I’ll have a large wedding reception in Mumbai as soon as Roya and I return.” At the moment, Jermaine Jackson and his wife are on the guest list.
