After weeks of speculation, it looks like Ekta Kapoor’s zombie film Rock The Shaadi helmed by Navdeep Singh is back on track. And sources attribute it to leading man of the film Abhay Deol, who apparently gave a personal guarantee to the producer to wrap up the film within the stipulated budget.

According to our source, from the time Abhay heard the script, he has been very enthusiastic about the film. “So he was upset when the film got stuck as a result of going over-budget in the first schedule. So while the next schedule was pushed to post-monsoon, Abhay decided to ensure that the film doesn’t get into more trouble,” says our source, adding that one way of doing it was to get more involved in the film than just as an actor.

We’re further told that the actor had a word with the producer to understand her concerns about the film going over budget. “Ekta made it clear that she has allotted Rs 9 crore and will not spend a rupee more than that.

And the fight, that certain industry insiders claim had even escalated to a physical scuffle, might jeopardise the future of the film co-produced by Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji and iRock.

Confirming the incident, Jain told Mumbai Mirror, “Navdeep is a short tempered man. When I entered my office, he was shouting at Niraj. They were arguing over some technical issues. And it went out of control.”

Singh, who is known for his otherwise mild disposition had reportedly been losing his temper quite often on the sets of the film. In fact, his ‘hot’ temper is fast becoming a problem for the unit members. Mirror has learnt that unable to handle Singh’s anger, the accountant and a few spotboys have already left the unit during the earlier schedule in Rajasthan.

The most recent victim of Singh’s temper, Niraj first denied the incident but later admitted to it and said, “Yes, we did have a heated argument. He (Singh) is a cynical mad man. I don’t want to discuss anything about this anymore.” Niraj More >
