Producer Hema Malini is having differences with the director of Tell Me Oh Khuda , Mayur Puri

All isn’t working out like a dream between debutant director Mayur Puri and dreamgirl Hema Malini. Mayur is working on Tell Me Oh Khuda with Hema, who is producing the film. But Hema is also trying very hard to re-launch her daughter Esha after a long time, through this film.

Obviously, much like Rakesh Roshan working hard on reviving beta Hrithik’s career, Hema too is being the able parent. A unit member from Tell Me Oh Khuda informed, “There are some creative differences between the producer and the director, which have emerged after the unit returned from the Goa schedule.

When Hema saw the footage of the film she asked for some changes. She is not happy with a few things.”

Whilst the crew sings praises of Hema’s skills as a hands-on producer, they are aware of her creative clashes with the director. The source added, “Hemaji is taking keen interest in the film as it is her daughter’s re-launch and she doesn’t want to take any chances.

She makes it a point to be present on the sets as often as possible and contribute to the film in every sense. But her over involvement in the project is adding to the woes of the director.”

Barbara’s Spanish film’s release delayed after Kites debacle

The producer, who was set to release Barbara Mori’s Spanish film, seems to be developing cold feet after the Kites debacle

Rakesh Roshan’s kati patang has had a domino effect in the industry. The producer Jayantilal Gada, who was keen to release Barbara Mori’s Spanish film My Brother’s Wife, is introspecting on the wisdom of the idea. Barbara hasn’t exactly created a flutter after the release of Kites. The big question that Gada is grappling with now is: Can he bank on her to carry the film?

Though Gada has dubbed the film in English and Hindi, he has decided to postpone the release of his film. Scheduled to release in June, the film will now release only two-three months later.

A source says, “It’s a business decision. The Indian audience did not lap up Kites. He expected Kites to do very well. There was so much hype about that film. But now, Gada wants all the negativity about Kites to die down.

He expects that this will happen in two-three months time. Only then, he will release his film.”

The producer is putting up a brave front though. Gada said, “I was sure that Kites will be a super hit. So I had decided to release my film immediately after Kites. But now we are adding four good songs (two by Atif Aslam) to the film as background score.

// // // • You are making a film (Tell Me O Khuda) after a long time. I am making a very pleasant film. Anybody who watches it will feel happy as there is nothing complicated about it. Yes, I took some time to put it together but that’s because I tried reaching out to some directors, but they said that they had no time. It was becoming a time-consuming process, which is why I asked the scriptwriter of the film Mayur Puri if he would like to direct and he agreed. Mayur has been in the industry for 15 years and knows the ropes of filmmaking quite well.

• You have cast your daughter Esha in the film. Naturally, I would cast Esha na. But I am not relaunching her, as suggested by some reports. Yes, she hasn’t done any film recently and wasn’t seen around much but that’s because she wasn’t getting good roles. Bekar picture karne se accha hai ki ghar pe relax karo.

• You have got your bungalow renovated.

Doing up your house is a very creative process and I am totally involved in it. My new house has one floor each for Esha, Ahana and myself. I didn’t want to renovate my bungalow into a tall building. I still like living in a spacious home.
