Ever since Rana Daggubati made his foray into Bollywood, he has been linked to several actresses. And at a recent cricket event, the actor wore his charm on his sleeve as he bonded with Shruti Haasan throughout and then dropped in backstage to chat up his alleged ex Bipasha Basu.
In the past, Rana and Bips were romantically linked. There was buzz that Rana was Bipasha’s shoulder to cry on after her split with John Abraham, and that the two had become close. The two actors however maintained they were just good friends.
An onlooker says, “Rana was sitting with Shruti throughout the event and they remained inseparable at the after-party too.” But soon the South actor went backstage and was spotted getting cosy with Bips. “ The two looked very warm in each other’s company,” adds the onlooker.

Sameera Reddy, who has done a couple of item songs in Bollywood, is excited about her new item song in Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum. According to a source close to the actress, “Sameera is all set to sizzle with Rana Daggubati in a special number that is currently being shot. She loves dancing and that’s the reason she likes to do item numbers. Since the past couple of days, she has been rehearsing round the clock to perfect her dance moves.” The actress arrives at the studios much before her call time and has been spotted practising for a while before the day’s shoot begins. Even though she has been paired with Rana for the first time in a song, they both seem to share comfortable camaraderie on the sets. Our source adds, “Sameera was also more than happy to help Rana with a couple of moves for the song. ” The film, which is a bilingual will see her play the surprise element. On her part, Sameera maintained, “The filmmakers wanted someone who could match up to Rana’s height. I was the unanimous choice. We had a lot of fun doing this number. It was also joked that we could arguably be the tallest pair in the industry.”

Rana Daggubati, over the past few months have been in the spotlight for his alleged liaisons with actresses. During the shooting of his first Hindi film, Dum Maaro Dum, the actor was labelled his co-star Bipasha Basu’s ‘3-am’ friend. And though both actors have brushed it off quoting ‘Hindi lessons’ as an alibi, the camaraderie has continued for months. Soon after, the actor reportedly got busy lending a shoulder to Nayanthara who split with her boyfriend Prabhu Deva. And recently, we told you how Rana was spotted partying with Priyanka at a nightclub owned by his uncle Nagarjuna. But surprisingly, the three beauties will be absent at the grand wedding of Rana’s sister Malavika at the Ramanaidu Studios in Hyderabad.
In an extraordinary coincidence, the trio – Priyanka, Bipasha and Nayanthara, claimed that they were invited for the wedding but couldn’t attend the do due to ‘professional commitments’.
For example, when we tried to find out what kept Bipasha away from the wedding, a friend of the actor told us, “She was invited but she called up the family and excused herself. She had an ad shoot scheduled in Jakarta.”

He has decided to leave Mumbai when his ex-girl and her co-star visit the city

The girlfriend Prabhu Dheva claimed to ‘have moved on from’, Nayanthara, has reportedly found a new 3 am friend in her new co-star Rana Daggubati. This, incidentally hasn’t gone down too well with Dheva.
“After they broke up in January, Nayan (her pet name) took her own time to settle down but soon she was ready to get back to films. Rana was the first co-star she chose to work with. They became thick friends during the shoot,” a source told us.
Though sources maintained that Rana and Nayan aren’t dating, they said, “The chemistry between them on screen is great. They are gearing up for a long promotional tour together as it will be Nayan’s come-back vehicle post her sabbatical that she took to settle down with Prabhu Dheva.”
And this tour has not gone down well with Nayan’s former boyfriend Prabhu Dheva. “The film will get dubbed in Hindi and there are plans to promote Kishnam Vande Jagatgurum in Mumbai. When Prabhu got to know this, he said that he wants to be out of town at the time,” added the source.
Apparently Prabhu Deva is a tad bit uncomfortable since Nayan’s visit to Mumbai will bring his failed relationship back in the news, now that he is a successful filmmaker in Bollywood.

Rana Daggubati’s South film to be dubbed in Hindi

Having done two Bollywood films, it’s no wonder that the makers of Rana Daggubati’s next film down South are contemplating dubbing it in Hindi.
The actor’s next big project in the South, Krishnam Vande Jagatgurum (KVJ), will be made into a trilingual now. Our source says, “KVJ is a high-end action film and the makers think they can tap into Rana’s popularity in Bollywood as well.”
After his debut in Bollywood with Dum Maaro Dum, Rana garnered praise for his looks and his physique. Helmed by award winning director Krish, the film also stars South star Nayantara.

While Mollywood star Prithviraj catches Rani Mukerji’s fancy in Aiyyaa, where she wants to marry a tall, dark and handsome (TDH) South Indian, Sudeep’s lead role in his next, Makkhi, is grabbing eyeballs, too. Yes, ‘cool and sexy’ TDH South Indian actors are in season in Bollywood!
When we spoke to Prithviraj about the south stereotype in Aiyyaa, he said, “This movie shows South Indianism as very attractive. In the movie, Rani plays a girl who finds everything about South Indianism — smell, colour, looks, complexion — very cool and sexy. It sort of puts all south Indian characteristics in a way that Bollywood has not looked at it before.” In fact, the actor is keen on doing more Bollywood flicks. As for Sudeep, he’s five films old in Bollywood and is enjoying the offbeat films he does here.
An influx of South Indian actors is headed to Bollywood. Tollywood star Rana Daggubati sizzled with Bipasha Basu in Dum Maaro Dum; his peer, Ram Charan Teja, is all set to romance Priyanka Chopra as the angry young man in the Zanjeer remake.
Earlier, Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan and Mohanlal, three of the South icons, had forayed into mainstream Bollywood. Today, South actor Prakash Raj is one of the most sought-after villains in Hindi cinema.

Sanjay Dutt had gone out of his way to help his Department co-star Rana Daggubati during the young actor’s trip to Mumbai. Dutt had arranged for gym equipments to help Rana stay fit while they shot for the Ram Gopal Varma film. And one good turn surely deserves another. Mirror found out that when Dutt was in Rana’s city, Hyderabad shooting for Samy, the younger actor arranged for a surprise.
“When Rana learnt about Dutt’s stay in Hyderabad, he immediately arranged for gym equipments to be set up for the actor. And though Dutt had already carried a few work out gear to keep himself fit, Rana still went ahead,” said a source from the sets. And the gym gear have surely worked out as Dutt has returned to the city looking leaner than before.

Word is that Ram Gopal Varma’s relationship with his muse Nathalia Kaur has ended. And now we hear that the filmmaker has gone ahead and dropped her from his upcoming film after coming to know that she could soon be tying the knot with someone else.
Ramu was apparently so mesmerised with the model-turned-actress after he cast her in Department, that he even stated that Nathalia was the “prettiest girl” he had every laid his eyes on. However, now after their romance has ended, Ramu has apparently taken her off his next film starring Rana Daggubati.
Our source says, “It was an open secret that Ramu and Nathalia were dating and to push her career ahead, he was making this film. But now they have parted ways and she will be getting married soon.” The source adds that it could also be a possibility that after hearing Nathalia would feature in Jism 3, Ramu decided to do away with her from his film.
Probably to get over the grief of his relationship getting over, we hear that Ramu is keeping busy with his other films including Bhoot 2, Satya 2 and his upcoming film based on the 26/11 Mumbai attacks. While Nathalia remained unavailable for comment, Ramu refused to reply to our SMS.

We caught up with Rana Daggubati on the sets of his next Telugu film and the actor was rather forthcoming in speaking out about his much talked about ‘relationship’ with former co-star Bipasha Basu.
You are often referred to as the Casanova of Tollywood… I think I don’t even know what it exactly means! My movements are not restricted like other actors. I am a friendly guy and people often misunderstand my friendliness for being flirtatious. But when I hear such things, I feel somewhere I am doing something right (laughs)!
Are you friends with your exes? Am I friend with my exes? Oh yeah, very much!
What about Bipasha? Bipasha was never my girlfriend. I don’t know where these reports come from. I am seeing someone and I will share the details once I am sorted in my life. No matter what you say, people just believe what they want to believe.
Were you sad after Department tanked at the box office? Nobody knows what Friday will bring. The reviews for the film were not good but I acquired a lot of working knowledge while shooting for Department. I always wanted to play the role of a cop and my role was appreciated.

The ‘close friends’ had a showdown earlier this week over the actor’s alleged affair with Bipasha

Friends for over ten years and ‘close friends’ for a fairly long time, Rana Daggubati and Trisha Krishnan have reportedly parted ways. According to industry insiders, rumours of Rana’s romance with Bipasha Basu and his constant need to spend time in Mumbai, took a toll on their relationship. In fact, they had an ugly showdown earlier this week.
Though Rana and Trisha remained unavailable for comment, a source revealed, “The two of them grew closer after Rana broke up with Shriya Saran. However, their budding romance could not graduate to the next level. Rana’s flirtatious ways and rumours of his closeness to Bipasha Basu irked Trisha. Also, his Hindi film commitments made it impossible to divide time between Mumbai and Hyderabad. Trisha’s Bollywood career, on the other hand, never really took off after Khatta Meetha failed to make an impact.”
Rumours of an affair between Rana and Trisha were sparked off when the actor chose to spend his New Year with the actress in Goa. He even ignored good friend Bipasha who was in the same place during that time.
