In a star studded function held at Temple Tree resort in Moinabad, Chiranjeevi’s 27-year-old son Ram Charan Teja, who is all set to make his Bollywood debut with the remake of Zanjeer, tied the knot with his childhood sweetheart Upasana Kamineni, granddaughter of Prathap C Reddy, the chairman of a leading hospital and lifecare chain, on Thursday.
A few hours after the wedding, Ram Charan told Mirror, “It’s been one hectic morning for me. That I am married now is yet to sink in. All I can tell you at the moment is, it’s been the best experience of my life.”
Mirror learnt that a rather busy Amitabh Bachchan took time off from his Kaun Banega Crorepati shoot to attend the wedding. He flew to Hyderabad for the wedding at 9 am in a private jet and flew back at 3 pm. Though Kamal Haasan couldn’t be a part of the celebrations, it was one of those rare occasions when superstars Rajinikanth, Chiranjeevi and the Big B came together. Boney Kapoor and Sridevi along with Shriya Saran and Rana Daggubatti were there to bless the couple as well.
Curiously no one from Ram Charan’s Zanjeer team showed up at the wedding. Apparently director Apoorva Lakhia had a family engagement, so they all stayed away. Leading lady Priyanka Chopra busy promoting her other film, sent a handpicked gift for the couple.
When contacted. Lakhia said, “But we’re all leaving for Hyderabad very shortly with our gifts. There’s at least three days of festivity More >
Priyanka Chopra to speak Telugu in Zanjeer remake
0To be able to mouth her own dialogues for the Telugu version of Zanjeer, PC is spending time with her co-star Ram Charan Teja
Subhash K Jha (June 10, 2012)
Priyanka Chopra is one of the two Bollywood actresses who will be attending Telugu superstar Ram Charan Teja’s wedding in Hyderabad on June 14. The other actress is Bipasha Basu. PC has become Ram Charan’s “language buddy”.
Says a mutual friend, “They’re swapping tongues. He’s teaching her Telugu. She’s helping him with his Hindi.” Priyanka starts shooting for the the Telugu version of Zanjeer, produced by Amit Mehra and directed by Apoorva Lakhia only in September.
But before that she has to master the Telugu language, because she insists on speaking her own dialogues. Says a source, “Priyanka has been paid Rs 7 crores for two versions of Zanjeer, one in Telugu and the other in Hindi. For the Telugu version she has told her producers she will speak her own lines.” She has roped in Ram Charan’s help.
The source adds, “Priyanka will help Ram with his Hindi and he will have to make her fluent in Telugu. It’s a tough deal for Ram because his character is the strong, silent type, while she is the talkative, chirpy sort. Telugu cinema audiences expect flawless Telugu even from non-Telugu actresses. She will have to sound like a local girl from Andhra Pradesh.”
PC intends to spend as much as she can with Ram Charan, since he’s will be busy with his upcoming wedding and honeymoon for the next few months. “If Priyanka needs More >

How did you meet Charan? We were introduced through common friends. I was in the US studying, and we would meet when I would come to India for vacations. Over time, we become friends.
