The actress has finally given dates to the much delayed project, Anurag Basu’s Barfee

After a number of delays, director Anurag Basu’s Barfee is finally set to go on floors. The film had been held up intermittently because of lead actress Priyanka Chopra’s date issues. PC has finally given the film her dates and her co-star Ranbir Kapoor can breathe a sigh of relief.

This film is close to Ranbir and he has not been too pleased with its delay. Says a source, “Both Ranbir and Anurag wanted to shoot Barfee at a stretch. Unfortunately, Priyanka has chosen to shoot three films simultaneously. She is dividing her time among Karan Johar’s Agneepath, Kunal Kohli’s untitled film with Shahid Kapoor, and Barfee.”

The source adds, “Anurag has been trying to shoot around Priyanka’s other two projects.

The effort to coordinate Barfee’s schedules with Priyanka’s, however, has begun to irk Ranbir, as he is unable to concentrate on the character.”

Director Anurag Basu also admits that the delay is because of Priyanka’s dates but he understands her predicament. “PC has been really busy, but these things happen. Schedules clash. We just shot one whole schedule in Mumbai without PC. But now, we urgently need her dates. We go to Thailand with Priyanka from August 10.”

Wants to sort out differences between her director Kunal Kohli and Rani Mukerji

Rani Mukerji and director Kunal Kohli are not on great terms. After the actress worked with Kohli in Hum Tum (2004) and Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic (2008), their friendship soured. She felt that he’d sidelined her and promoted the other actress in the film Ameesha Patel, with whom he shared a close friendship at the time. Since then, they haven’t been on talking terms. Priyanka Chopra, who is working in Kohli’s next, wants to play peacemaker and patch them up.In a recent interview, when PC was asked who she would like to play peacemaker for, she said Rani and Kunal. Even though this is her first film with the director, Priyanka and Kunal have hit it off and she now wants the former friends to make up.An insider says, “It’s true that Kunal and Rani no longer talk to each other. TPTM didn’t turn out as expected, and Rani felt let down. During the promotion she felt the focus had been on Ameesha’s item song, which upset Rani. She sent him an angry message, which he replied to in the same tone, and they never spoke after that.”

Enter Priyanka. She feels that Rani and Kunal should sort matters out and go back to being friends. While she hasn’t made any moves to bring them together under one roof, she has discussed her plan with Kunal, who seems open to the idea. The big question is: Will Rani feel the same?

Delay in Shahid Kapoor’s Mausam has pushed back Kunal Kohli’s untitled film and Anurag Basu’s Barfee. Kohli had to call up Basu to ask for an exchange of dates

Shahid Kapoor’s Mausam has been postponed, this time by a week. Earlier scheduled for a September 9 release, the film will finally release on September 16. But this sudden development has had a ripple effect.

It is Shahid and Priyanka Chopra starrer Kunal Kohli’s untitled film which has suffered an abrupt change in plan, leaving Kohli with no option but to shoot his film in July.

Now to clear your foggy glasses, we tell you how and what happened. Pankaj Kapur’s Mausam has been rescheduled for a third time to release in mid September. Earlier, Shahid was supposed to start shooting for Kohli’s film right after Mausam’s release on September 9, but because of the change in plan Shahid now requires time to promote his father’s film instead. Thus, the dates given to Kohli earlier will now stand cancelled.

To help Kohli out, Shahid reallocated his dates and wanted to shoot in July instead of September. Priyanka, the lead actress, unfortunately, didn’t have dates in July as she was shooting for Anurag Basu’s Barfee. The actress is nowhere on the schedule of Barfee, though her co-stars resume shooting in Darjeeling

On May 26, 2011, Mumbai Mirror reported how Priyanka Chopra and Ileana D’Cruz fought over their roles in Anurag Basu’s Barfee, postponing the next schedule of the film.

The story titled ‘Who’s the bigger diva?’ seems to have found its answer in Ileana D’Cruz, as Priyanka Chopra vanishes from Barfee’s shooting schedule.

It all started when Ileana got cold feet after seeing how powerful Priyanka’s role is in Barfee. Ileana, apprehensive that her role might be reduced to something like Kangna Ranaut’s in Basu’s Kites demanded more footage as well as a few extra songs in the film.

After the delay, the shooting for Barfee is all set to resume this week, without Priyanka Chopra! The next schedule in Darjeeling only has Ranbir Kapoor and Ileana D’Cruz. It is not very clear when Priyanka joins them.

A source told us, “Priyanka is currently shooting for Kunal Kohli’s film. She then leaves for IIFA awards. Then she comes back to finish Kunal’s film. There is no clear indication of when Priyanka joins the Barfee shooting. She has issues regarding her role that need to be sorted out first.”
