Gulshan Grover was signed on to the Hollywood film, The Driver, directed by Bill Duke, as Salma Hayek’s husband.

But Duke was not happy when Grover disclosed critical information on the movie to the Indian media (Mumbai Mirror, January 8, 2011) Grover’s son, Sanjay, has now bailed him out.

Our source said, “Gulshan had to fly down to L.A. to explain to them that he was speaking to the Indian media, as they were curious about the film.

However, on being pulled up by Bill Duke, his son, Sanjay, who works in Hollywood, with MGM films, proved to be the peacemaker. Gulshan met Bill and now everything is resolved.”

When contacted, Grover confirmed the news and said, “Yes, my son works for MGM and he has his share of friends back there. I met Bill and everything is fine now.

I told him that the Indian media love him and his work. They were curious about the film and that is why I spoke to them.”

Resul livid after multiplex messes Robot sp screening

Though Aamir Khan tried to play peacemaker, Resul Pookutty is at war with a multiplex for botching up the screening of Rajni’s hit

Kunal M Shah (MUMBAI MIRROR; October 06, 2010)

It’s ironic that at a screening of Robot, of all things, the machines failed to work. Rajnikanth’s power show for his film at a suburban multiplex was full of glitches. And the sound editor of the film, Resul Pookutty, was certainly not amused.

Dissatisfied with the sound quality three hours prior to the show, Resul had voiced his discomfort too. But apparently, the theatre officials paid no heed and started the show. Sure enough, the sound crashed in the second half of the film, which had to be stalled as a result for over 30 minutes. Pookutty was livid with the organisers and only on Aamir Khan’s insistence was he pacified.

He felt that what happened on Monday night was unfortunate and symptomatic of how theatre owners are lackadaisical about the technical finesse involved in screening films. Said Pookutty, “We had a show for the biggest people in the industry but the sound quality was so inferior. I spent 45 days to design the sound of the film and this is the result we got. If this happens in the presence of the cream of the industry what must the common man be going through? This is like Husain making a classic painting and somebody throwing ink all over it.”

Raveena Tandon plays peacemaker between her brother Rajeev and father Ravi Tandon

Vickey Lalwani (MUMBAI MIRROR; September 04, 2010)

All’s well in the Tandon household now. ‘90s actress Raveena Tandon and her brother Rajeev have buried the hatchet, and the latter has returned to be reunited with the family in Tandon House.

It was rumoured that the two had a fall-out on a property dispute nearly four years ago. At the time Rajeev and wife Rakhi (remember Sweety from Ekta Kapoor’s popular TV serial Hum Paanch?) had walked out of Tandon House and cut off with Rajeev’s parents Ravi Tandon and his wife. Rajiv and Rakhi eventually divorced.

Raveena played peacemaker in the family and initiated the patch-up. Revealed a source, “In the interim period Ravi Tandon’s health took a beating. There were constant fights in the family; but which family does not have its share of problems.

As time went by, the senior Tandon started missing his son intensely, which is when Raveena decided that it was time to turn around the events.”

Raveena said, “I only did what was needed. Any parent would love to be with his/her son. Family is family, isn’t it? Yes, Rajiv is back in Tandon House and living very happily with my parents.”

Meanwhile, rumours were rife that Rajeev is living in an apartment in Lokhandwala Complex with singer Xenia Ali. Our source denies this, insisting that he was staying in his cousin’s rented flat.

Farah plays peacemaker between Salman, TV channel

Salman, who was bitter about the television channel over Dus Ka Dum, appeared on a show produced by the same channel and judged by his newly-found best pal Farah Khan

Vickey Lalwani (MUMBAI MIRROR; August 25, 2010)

Farah Khan is such a dove. She is casually playing peacemaker between Salman Khan and the television channel that airs Dus Ka Dum. Going by Farah’s friendship with Salman, the day might not be far of when Salman agrees to go back on Dus Ka Dum.

Farah’s equation with Salman is on par with what she once enjoyed with Shah Rukh.

Yesterday, Farah pulled off a big surprise by having Salman on the show Entertainment Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega, which is broadcast on the same channel that used to air Dus Ka Dum, a show from which Salman departed on a rather bad note.

Farah asked Salman to appear on her show barely three days ago; she had made a friendly appearance herself for his blood donation drive. “Salman told Farah that he quite liked Entertainment Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega, which is when Farah told him that he should come over as a guest on the show to publicise his forthcoming film Dabangg,” says a source.

Salman hesitated at first but in his customary style did promis Farah that he would consider her request. A little later, he informed her that he was on. “The script of the shoot was quickly written to suit Salman’s presence. No doubt, the channel in question was also very happy to have him on board again.”

The producer and director of Knockout are at loggerheads; now the film’s leading lady Kangna Ranaut is trying to play the peacemaker

Vickey Lalwani (MUMBAI MIRROR; August 05, 2010)

Seems like producer-director Hema Malini has set a trend. Recently, the Sanjay Dutt-Kangna Ranaut starrer Knockout ran into trouble. The film’s producer Sohail Maklai and director Mani Shankar are at loggerheads with each other over creative differences.

Power equations have now changed to such an extent that there is no scope for an amicable discussion between the two. A source says, “There are serious creative differences between the producer and the director of the film. Presently, Sohail and Mani are not even on talking terms.”

Though work on the film started well, the latter half of the shooting schedules saw a lot of arguments between Sohail and Mani. Apparently, the film expenditure kept multiplying with time and as a result, the budget limits collapsed. This irked Sohail.

But surprisingly, Mani has decided to be absent at the final edit sessions of the film, which are currently in progress. The source adds, “Mani is in Hyderabad and Sohail in Mumbai. Sohail and his team have taken charge at the editing table.

And guess who is trying to build bridges? Kangna Ranaut. The actress has been making incessant calls to both Sohail and Mani, urging them to resolve their differences for the sake of the film.

The source adds, “Knockout is very close to More >

Fisticuffs on Salman’s sets

And for once, it wasn’t Salman who was involved By Sonal Chawla (MUMBAI MIRROR; April 06, 2010)

A major fight took place on the sets of the Salman Khan-Sonakshi Sinha starrer Dabangg in Wai on Sunday night. Co-producer Manoj Chaturvedi (2nd pic from below), who was in high spirits, punched the chief assistant director Himanshu Mehra as the former’s son Shantanu (an AD on the film) complained of being mistreated by the unit.

Himanshu Mehra was injured because of which he had to be given three stitches on his forehead. He is currently recuperating in a hospital.

Salman Khan has fired Manoj Chaturvedi’s son Shantanu because of whom the fight took place. Producer Arbaaz Khan has called for a meeting today with Manoj, who is also the production controller on the sets.

An eyewitness says, “The incident took place at Jannat, a night club in Wai, where the entire crew was partying after pack-up. Manoj Chaturvedi’s son Shantanu is the junior assistant director on the sets and is known for his snobbish behaviour. Shantanu is always sidelined and nobody likes interacting with him due to his arrogant attitude. He complained to his dad about being ignored by the film unit. That’s when a drunken Manoj started abusing the entire unit.”

“On seeing Manoj abusing and shouting at everybody, Himanshu tried to be the peacemaker but Manoj started abusing him instead and also punched his face. Himanshu fell flat on the ground and his forehead was bleeding More >

Adi played peacemaker between Shahid and Parmeet?

When Shahid Kapoor started giving debutatant director Parmeet Sethi a tough time on the sets of Badmaash Company, Aditya Chopra had to intervene By Vickey Lalwani (MUMBAI MIRROR; February 15, 2010)

Had it not been for Aditya Chopra, Parmeet Sethi’s Badmaash Company for Yash Raj Films wouldn’t have been completed. Aditya played peacemaker between Shahid and Parmeet who shared a testy relationship after getting into a conflict right at the start of the shoot.

A source from the sets revealed, “Shahid was highly inquisitive and often questioned Parmeet’s decisions on the sets. More often than not, Shahid wanted to be the one to decide whether a shot was okay or not. He always used to question Parmeet about why he was asksing for so many retakes. Several times when Parmeet said ‘Ek aur baar karte hain,’ Shahid would demur because he felt he’d given a great shot.”

Badmaash Company

As days progressed, Shahid became extremely averse to retakes. In fact, he started losing his temper. On two occasions, he clearly said he didn’t think it necessary to give a retake, but better sense prevailed in the end. But on one occasion, Shahid simply refused to return on the sets.

Naturally, it resulted in some hi-voltage drama that brought the shoot to a grinding halt. When matters reached Aditya’s ears, he decided to intervene. “Aditya went up to Shahid and told him that Parmeet wasn’t doing anything without his knowledge and consent. Shahid understood Aditya’s point More >

SRK-Sallu come aamne saamne for the first time after their famous fall-out

0

By Kunal M Shah (MUMBAI MIRROR; December 25, 2009)

The buzz of anticipation as Shah Rukh Khan arrived at the premiere of 3 Idiots was nearly as loud as the buzz of appreciation for Aamir Khan’s latest turn.

For, the drama his turning up promised could be as much fun as the movie playing on the screens inside IMAX, Wadala.

SRK’s bête noire Salman Khan had arrived well in time for the movie to begin and the waiting media and star-gazers turned away disappointed when there seemed to be no sign of Shah Rukh Khan, while hosts for the evening no doubt heaved a sigh of relief.

The last time SRK and Sallu met - at Katrina Kaif’s birthday - the birthday girl had been utterly sidelined in the furious exchange of words between the two superstars, and Aamir Khan had spent the night running the short distance between Salman’s house Galaxy Apartments and SRK’s home Mannat, playing peacemaker.

Sallu comes out of the screening, sees SRK a few feet away and gives him the full I-wanna-knock-your-teeth glare…

But never one to back out of awkward situations, Shah Rukh arrived minutes before the film ended and was greeted by Aamir.

Just as Shah Rukh moved to talk to director Kunal Kohli, the show got over and out came Salman Khan. He spied Shah Rukh chatting away and gave him the full benefit of the famous Sallu I-wanna-knock-your-teeth glare. He stared long and hard forcing SRK to turn in his direction, but just then, Aamir said something to Salman, forcing him into a More >

Kamaal ka expulsion!

KRK has been prematurely ousted from Bigg Boss 3 due to his violent behaviour with co-participants By Kunal M Shah (MUMBAI MIRROR; October 22, 2009)

Kamaal Rashid Khan is the first celebrity to be prematurely ousted from the Bigg Boss house because of his rude and violent behavior. While the previous two seasons of the show had their share of fights between participants with Ravi Kishan and Rakhi Sawant constantly bickering during the first season and Raja Chowdhary and Sambhavana Seth arguing in the second season, Kamaal’s fit of rage was far too much to tolerate.

A source from the channel says, “It began with something as trivial as allotting points to co-participants for their performances, which was part of their daily tasks. While everyone generously gave each other points, Kamaal did not bother to give too many points to Rohit Varma and Shamita Shetty. Later, during a discussion at the dinner table when the two dismissed their act as charity, Kamaal was enraged on realising that they were hinting at him.”

“A verbal spat that ensued between Kamaal and Rohit took an ugly turn when the former threw a bottle of water at Rohit. Rohit ducked and managed to dodge the bottle, which hit Shamita’s hand. Everybody was shocked and Raju Shrivastav clearly told Kamaal that his behaviour was unacceptable. The unsolicited advice angered Kamaal further and the agument deteriorated into a fistfight. SRK-Salman in a reality show?

After the great Salman-Shah Rukh fallout, the warring Khans will finally be seen together in a forthcoming reality show. When powerful common friends failed to broker peace, will a reality show do the trick? By Ruhail Amin (MUMBAI MIRROR; September 03, 2009) When Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan fell out during Katrina Kaif’s birthday bash last year, it was an outright war. It put the industry in an uncomfortable position, where people were forced to take sides. Very few managed the tightrope walk and maintained their relationship with both the warring Khans. Now, the possibility that the industry can breathe a sigh of relief is imminent as SRK and Salman will be seen on a reality show together.

The fallout over certain remarks about Salman’s ex-girlfriend, Aishwarya Rai, was very public and it led to the Khans taking potshots at each other at every given opportunity. Recently, Salman said that Shah Rukh used to be nice, but now is he is insecure. In the past, Salman has also claimed that SRK was jealous because his show, Kya Aap Paanchvi Pass Se Tez Hain?, was a flop, while Dus Ka Dum was very popular. Salman also pooh-poohed SRK’s US detention ordeal recently. And these are just a few instances.

Though stars like Rani Mukerji and Farah Khan have tried to play peacemaker between the two proud Khans, finally it may take a reality show where the stars are paid hefty sums to appear on the same platform. The reality show is called Dance Premier League and has More >
