I have been stuffed like a turkey at some star homes. And in some others I have waited for hours with just a glass of water for company.

But mostly, our stars have large hearts when it comes to food. Here’s a look at what’s on their menu on a good day. And why it so seems like them.

Kareena Kapoor

Size zero and foodie, Kareena Kapoor is a paradox. She must have been Chinese in her last birth. That’s how much she loves the cuisine.

From the early days at the now defunct Holiday Inn’s Sampan to Lands End’s Golden Dragon, catching up over the most heavenly stuffed wonton, noodles and Shanghai chicken.

In between her pet had turned PETA - she had become shakhahaari. But whenever you plan to meet Bebo, the first thing she asks is “What should I order to eat?” She is a true lover of the good life and good food.

Recently, I gorged on the fish curry at her place. It was too good to be true. We’ve shared too many heartbreaks and happy foodie moments together. Swimming in the masala and enjoying it.

Pataudi gets surprise from Saif-Kareena on bday

Saif-Kareena came unannounced at Pataudi’s house on his birthday

On Wednesday, Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan returned from Switzerland and decided to pay Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi a surprise visit; it was the Nawab’s birthday that day.

Saif and Bebo spent the entire day with him before flying back to Switzerland yesterday.

Pataudi and his wife Sharmila Tagore could not believe their eyes when Saif came in through the door, hand-in-hand with Kareena. They were overjoyed.

A source close to the couple said, “Saif decided to surprise his dad. He had not even told Kareena about their one-day visit to Delhi.

When Kareena learnt about it in Switzerland she was touched by Saif’s love and concern for his father.”

Added the source, “Kareena and Saif will stay in Switzerland for at least eight more days before they resume work in Mumbai. They are enjoying a fantastic Swiss holiday.”

In Switzerland, the couple was staying at a chalet-hut owned by the Gstaad Palace, which runs on solar energy. They will now shift to a wooden hut (the Walig Hut) built like a small 18th century chalet at a height of 5000 feet above sea level. They’re on top of the world in love.

Priyanka’s parents surprise her to tears

Normally Priyanka Chopra is not the kind of girl who displays emotions, not even in front of her own family. But on the night of 16 July when her parents threw a small pre-birthday party at home for her and her close friends, Priyanka for the first time cried openly.

It was not the well-organized party where her mother cooked her favourite Punjabi dishes. It was the gift that her parents bought her, a 6-carat diamond ring, which made Priyanka bawl like a baby.

Says a close friend who was at the get-together. “The minute she saw the gift Priyanka burst into tears. We were shocked because we had never seen her like that.” Apparently, Priyanka proudly wore the ring to her beachside holiday although her parents warned her she might drop it in the water.

Priyanka’s brother Siddharth who celebrates his birthday a week before his sister kept teasing her about hiding the ring before she left.

Incidentally, Priyanka had arranged a surprise birthday party at China House at the Grand Hyatt for her brother.

Says PC’s close friend, “It was his 21st birthday and very special. Priyanka looked into every detail personally although she was shooting for Saat Khoon Maaf. Siddharth who has just returned from a year-long course on the culinary arts from Switzerland cooked Priyanka’s favourite pasta for her birthday.”

Hrithik Roshan tries to explain why Indian audiences didn’t digest his new film too well

The Indian masses haven’t bitten into the salacious, slick-flick Kites with the intensity that they should ideally have done so. But a segment of the critics have applauded this fare. The international press has found the film palatable enough and the film has made it on the enviable US Top-10 list this week. Positioned at a No.4 it has papers such as Hollywood Reporter, Variety and New York Times highlighting the positives in it.

The leading man of the film, Bollywood’s Bronze God Hrithik Roshan justifies the shift in the film’s sensibilities. “An actor has two choices,” says Hrithik. “He can continue to do what he knows works, or he can try something different. I have been feeding this biryani-loving audience typical fare like Dhoom-2 and Krrish; but here I am saying, ‘Try some pasta as well.’ Some will like it, some will not. The foreign press has appreciated the film because they don’t have any past references to draw from. They’re not judging me as a big Bollywood star. They’re just judging Kites with no strings attached.”

The actor and his steady girlfriend Priyanka Bhatia have officially split; Neil will move back to his parents’ house at Napean Sea Road By Subhash K Jha (MUMBAI MIRROR; March 12, 2010)

Neil Nitin Mukesh and his girlfriend, designer Priyanka Bhatia, have called off their relationship. The couple had been seeing each other for almost two years. This comes as a bit of a shock because Neil had confessed not too long ago that they were as good as married and their parents had heartily endorsed the union. In an earlier interview to Mumbai Mirror Neil had said, “Priyanka and I spend so much time together, so making it official is hardly going to make a difference to our equation. There’s absolutely no family pressure on either of us. In fact, God forbid, if we ever decide not to carry our relationship further, our parents will disown us.”

So then what went wrong? Neil refused to specify, only saying, “I really don’t want to discuss it but since you’re asking me, I won’t lie. It is true that Priyanka and I are no longer a couple. The parting was by mutual consent and very amicable. We’re still friends and always will be.

Priyanka is still as welcome in my home as I am in hers,” says Neil, adding that there were a number of reasons behind the decision. “I can’t discuss them all but mainly my profession, namely acting, was far removed from her world. If there is one aspect of Bollywood diva Kareena Kapoor’s life that rates higher on the gossip charts than her relationship with the Junior Nawab of Pataudi, Saif Ali Khan, it is her size-zero measurement. Kareena got into shape under the guidance of dietician Rujuta Diwekar when she had to wear that bikini for Tashan (a film where she also bonded big time with Saif). In Kambakkht Ishq, Bebo once again tantalised the audience when she walked around in a black swimming costume. And each time she shows off her body-shape, she manages to add a few hundred fans to the already existing long list of people who think Bebo has the hottest figure in the business. But surprise, surprise, Bebo hasn’t starved to get this enviable figure. Says she, “People often wonder whether I eat an orange for lunch. But that isn’t the case.
