Priyanka Chopra’s cousin Parineeti seems to have replaced Anushka Sharma; now the Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl actress will star in production house’s next opposite Arjun Kapoor

It seems that Anushka Sharma is no longer the blue-eyed girl of Yash Raj Films. And it seems that Priyanka Chopra’s cousin Parineeti has taken over. Parineeti, who features in Ladies v/s Ricky Bahl, was the latest YRF discovery. Initially, the industry was abuzz with speculation that Anushka would star opposite Boney Kapoor’s son Arjun in Habib Faisal’s next. But now we hear that Parineeti has been considered for the role.
A source told Mumbai Mirror, “YRF has decided that Parineeti is apt for the role. Habib Faisal is also very keen to work with Parineeti. Ditto for Aditya Chopra, who always takes most of the final decisions in YRF. An official announcement will be made in this regard very soon.”
Before she was signed up for Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl, Parineeti used to work in the marketing section of YRF Films. However, Aditya Chopra felt she was actress material. “Parineeti is doing an excellent job in Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl. She has good acting abilities. She fits the role in Habib’s film perfectly,” added the source.

Prithwish Ganguly (BOMBAY TIMES; May 20, 2011) Ranbir Kapoor recently said that Ranveer Singh is a friend. Well, we think he’s also sort of a role-model because Ranveer seems to be following in the steps of Ranbir. To begin with, he still has to admit that Anushka is anything more than a co-star and a ‘friend’. The same gheesa-peeta line that RK had been mouthing about Katrina Kaif, till they split. And now, like the Kapoor lad, Singh has developed a roving eye too.
The Band Bajaa Baaraat lad has been cosying up to Priyanka Chopra’s cousin Parineeti. Does this mean ‘byebye Ms Sharma? Too early to say. Ranveer and Anushka have a volatile relationship. It has its ups and downs. An insider says, “Ranveer and Anushka have no plans to admit they are seeing each other. They have a mutual understanding, so it’s not like a totally committed relationship. Yash Raj Films (YRF) has always believed in encouraging and launching new talent. Only recently it gave the industry one of the most talented newcomers in Ranveer Singh. Now YRF is all set to launch yet another new face- Parineeti Chopra- in its forthcoming film Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl directed by Maneesh Sharma.
Not many know but Parineeti happens to be actress Priyanka Chopra’s cousin. She has been working with YRF for over a year in the Marketing Department as an integral part of the Promotional and PR team. Given one-off chance to audition for the film, she impressed both Maneesh and Aditya Chopra and was immediately cast for a role as one of the “ladies” who fall prey to the smooth talking guile of Ricky Bahl.
“I think Parineeti was phenomenal in her video test. I had no doubts that I wanted her in my film. In fact, when I worked on the script, I had her at the back of my mind, having interacted with her while she was in office”, said director Maneesh Sharma.
Parineeti, like most YRF discoveries, has bagged a 3 film deal with the production house the first of which is Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl.
