I want someone normal-Nargis Fakhri

Nargis Fakhri who debuted in a demure avatar in Rockstar now reveals her sizzling side. The actress recently did a bikini shoot for a men’s magazine. And the first one to give her a thumbs up was rumoured beau Uday Chopra. He was was quick to tweet, “How hot is this woman @NargisFakhri” and he posted alongside a pic of her in a bikini.
While the industry has been abuzz about their ‘friendship’, the duo cheekily resort to twiflirting and having fun at the expense of the speculators. However, the actress reveals in an accompanying interview that she would never date anyone from the industry, “No! I want someone normal. Someone who has a normal fucking job, who goes to sleep at nine o’clock at night and likes to go trekking and likes to cook.”
Talking about dating, Nargis adds that the problem is time. “I demand a lot from my partner because I do so much, and expect it back… In this business I don’t know how you can be in a relationship, you don’t even have the time to get to know someone. That could actually be a reason to leave the business.”
Have always lived, worked with the hottest men in the world-Nargis Fakhri
0Priya Gupta (BOMBAY TIMES; November 16, 2012)
Nargis Fakhri was born and brought up in the US to a Czech mother and Pakistani father, but was not influenced by either of her parents who were both immigrants and had lost their identity trying to become Americans. When she was just seven years old, her parents separated for reasons not known to her. While her father died a decade ago, her mother is a cancer survivor and is due for retirement from the US police force. For Nargis, being a part of Rockstar was a part of her search for her identity through India, a region that was closest to her father. Excerpts from her conversation with Bombay Times:
Your parents separated when you were young. Do you have memories of your father? Even though my parents separated, my mother was in love with my father and never re-married. But surprisingly, there are no family pictures in our house. When I returned home after Rockstar, I was curious to know about my father as I had visited India, which was a country closest to where my dad belonged. I asked my mother about him. For the first time, she took me to a closet and took out an old suitcase that had my childhood pictures. She was annoyed seeing those pictures as she still loved him, even though he had probably re-married and was not in touch with us. In one of the pictures, I looked like a boy as my head was shaven and she told me that was as per tradition. Seeing my pictures where I was wearing a kurta and bangles, my childhood More >
There’s more to me than my lips-Nargis Fakhri

Nargis FakhriIt’s just a year since she made her debut, and yet New York-based model-turned-actor Nargis Fakhri has managed to stay in the news, especially for her link-ups. From apparently being spotted with debut film co-star, actor Ranbir Kapoor at IIFA Awards event in Singapore to the speculation on her bonding with industrialist Ness Wadia and actor Shahid Kapoor.
Dismissing the reports as rumours, she thunders, “People enjoy making up stories which have absolutely no truth to it. They are created out of nothing at all. There are times when you get annoyed, but I guess one has to learn to take it with a pinch of salt and let it pass. It’s all part of the learning process. Yes, Ranbir and I are friends. The award ceremony was my first industry get together and I met quite a few people there. It was a great experience. As far as Ness goes, he’s someone who’s just an acquaintance. How the ‘so-called news’ came out? Your guess is as good as mine.”
The actor, who is currently back in the city from Bangkok, says she isn’t too much of a party person. Besides a close few people, she says, she doesn’t interact with a lot of people. “I don’t have too many friends so to speak. I’ve met some nice people whilst I’ve been here. I’m here to learn and concentrate on my work. I have friends all over the world, who I’ve known prior to getting into films. I connect with them of and on whilst I’m here, thank God for Skype and Facebook,” she More >
Nothing wrong in being in love-Nargis Fakhri
0Nargis Fakhri believes in saying the truth, unluckily all that has been so far said in the media, isn’t so
Kunal M Shah (MUMBAI MIRROR; March 24, 2012)
Once again you are in the news for your alleged linkup with an actor. What’s the truth about Shahid Kapoor and you? I am not dating Shahid Kapoor. I met him while performing at an awards ceremony. It was my first and I was nervous. Shahid was supportive. We have been friends since then. Can’t one have both guy and girl friends? Why is having dinner, lunch or coffee with a friend such a big deal?
You flew down with Shahid for his birthday in Goa and then were spotted at a five star having dinner… For his birthday, I was invited. I thought I would have a nice time with people I know. I never thought it would become such a big deal. As for the dinner, a common friend planned it. Five of us met up after a long time.
You’ve been linked to Ranbir Kapoor and Imtiaz Ali earlier… They were just rumours. And I can’t be bothered with them.
Does it feel weird to be constantly scrutinized? It comes with the job. But I would like the media to tell the truth. I am someone who will happily say the truth. I don’t feel the need to hide from anyone. I see nothing wrong in love or being in love.
Rockstar was a big hit. But the critics were a bit harsh on you. Is that why you are waiting to sign your next project? I am not being choosy. There are things in the pipeline. I don’t want to rush. I did not know what to expect from Rockstar. More >
Ranbir is very special to me-Nargis Fakhri
2Nargis Fakhri’s candid confessions on her Rockstar co-star, among other things
Upala KBR (BOMBAY TIMES; February 18, 2012)
Nargis Fakhri was touted as the next best thing prior to the release of her debut film, Rockstar. While director Imtiaz Ali and lead actor Ranbir Kapoor got all the acclaim, Nargis had to contend with the brickbats. Post that, the actress disappeared to New York for two months to take stock. In her first interview since returning from the US, she tells us what she’s been through, including her relationship with Ranbir.
When Rockstar released you were touted as the new “It Girl”. However, you haven’t signed any new films since. • Rockstar was a very special film. It was during Rockstar that I realised acting is what I am meant to do. After being part of such a fantastic project, my team and I are taking our time selecting my next project. So whether it is signing a film or a brand, a lot of thought is going into it. I am not going to sign everything that comes my way. If it means waiting for the right film, then so be it.
Imtiaz Ali has stood by you and said he would cast you again if the project is right. Comment. • It’s endearing to know that he has stood by me. I think he is an amazing director and human being, and I feel honoured that he chose me to be a part of this film.
How did you get Rockstar? • Rockstar found me. I got emails while living in Copenhagen. As luck would have it, Imtiaz was coming to Prague, my mother’s home city, and asked More >

Vogue uncovers best kept secret Nargis Fakhri
0By Bollywood Hungama News Network, September 7, 2011 – 14:55 IST
She is hot, she is hot and she is hot! No other words in the whole of universe can do any kind of justice to this eternal epitome of beauty called Nargis Fakhri, the lady who makes her rocking debut opposite Ranbir Kapoor in Rockstar! With the film heading for a grand gala release soon, its only obvious that Bollywood’s best kept secret Nargis will be the toast of every season. The same emotions are echoed in the latest edition of Vogue.
In the very start of the interview, she rattles off saying, “Not all foreigners are talentless…Not all of us use our beauty to enter Bollywood.” Born in Queens, New York to a Czech mother and Pakistani father, this 5ft 9in beauty entered modelling by chance! And her being casted in her debut film happened this way. On her own admission, Nargis says, “I have never been a movie buff. I was living in Denmark, when I got an email from Imtiaz Ali, telling me that he liked the way I looked and wanted me for his film. I wasn’t very keen to meet him, but because the appointment with Imtiaz was fixed in Prague, my mother’s birthplace, I thought ‘why not?’” And the rest they say… is history … sorry, in this case, it’s ‘her story’! Signing the film was easy for this PYT…as was learning a new language. Says she, “I can speak German, Spanish and even a bit of Greek… It took me just three months to pick up Hindi. I guess I’m a fast learner when it comes to languages.” The bigger challenge More >
