Sidharth-Shruti living-in!
0They have papa Kamal Haasan’s consent too..
Prithwish Ganguly (BOMBAY TIMES; May 9, 2011)
Siddharth and Shruti Haasan have taken their relationship to an all new level. They are so confident about their relationship that they have started living-in to get to know each other better. The couple hasn’t hidden anything from the actress-singer’s father Kamal Haasan and have also got his blessings. When Kamal learnt that the two were intending to take their relationship forward, the progressive father was more than happy to bless the duo.
“They felt they should live-in, given as they have never really fought with each other or had any sort of misunderstandings. Shruti is head-over-heels in love. She is willing to even chase a career down South and keep Bollywood as a secondary option. She has rejected around five good offers. She feels proximity with her beau will make her relationship work. The couple very much wants to settle down a few years down the line,” says a reliable informer.
The insider adds, “Kamal is very happy about Shruti choosing Sid. He feels the actor is good for his girl. He liked Sid as an actor even before Shruti and Sid started seeing each other. Shruti has also not been performing with the new band that she had formed — the reason, again her relationship which doesn’t leave her with much time to do anything else. Therefore, writing new songs, preparing new compositions and tracks is also not happening. But she is More >

Aarakshan set demolished
0The sets of Prakash Jha’s next was destroyed and left in shambles
Agencies (MUMBAI MIRROR; May 09, 2011)
Prakash Jha’s next Aarakshan’s set (left) was demolished in Bhopal
Civic authorities in Bhopal bulldozed the sets of Prakash Jha’s new film Aarakshan, since it was erected on a disputed land. This incident has upset the film’s schedule, as they were supposed to shoot a few scenes with Deepika Padukone and Saif Ali Khan.
Prakash Jha Productions had taken the land on lease from the Minal Residency Group, not realising that it was a disputed property.
An enraged Jha said, “We had no idea that the land where we had constructed our set was disputed. But, I do feel that even though the demolition had to go through, the authorities knew we had constructed only temporary structures for the purpose of shooting.
So why demolish it? It would have been dismantled within a month. Everyone in Bhopal knew it was a set”.
“The demolition has definitely upset our plans. We had left the set standing because there were a couple of scenes with Saif and Deepika, remained to be shot. Now we have to work out alternative arrangements,” he further added.
The demolished set spread over an acre and a half of land, included a bungalow that belongs to the character played by Amitabh Bachchan in the film, as well as parts of a stable where informal schools were set up.
The demolition was ordered by the district magistrate’s office. “It was an illegal structure, so it More >
Ash finds her Cannes purpose
0This time around, she will not just walk down the red carpet but also announce her next big film Heroine
Vickey Lalwani (MUMBAI MIRROR; May 09, 2011)
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been the only constant from India to the Cannes film festival year after year.
Though Bollywood, being the largest film churning industry across the globe has no official entries yet to the prestigious ceremony, we knew all too well that Mrs junior B will however, be a part of the same.
However, it now seems, that the cosmetic brand Ash endorses will not be the only reason for her to walk the red carpet this year.
While a lot of actors, thanks to hyperactive PR mechanisms, will be there to grace the event in designer enhanced regalia, Ash will announce her next big venture, National Award winning director Madhur Bhandarkar’s Heroine.
Ash who will essay the rise and fall of a superstar in Bhandarkar’s film will fly out to Cannes on May 10. UTV’s head honcho Ronnie Screwvala will join her a day later.
Bhandarkar however is flying out tonight for the prestigious event. Heroine will be announced at the Cannes Film Festival on Friday the thirteenth.
Kareena Kapoor who was the first choice for the role to be now essayed by Ash had some serious reservations about the steamy scenes in the script of this hard hitting film. Later, Bahndarkar reworked the script. “Well yes, the edgy scenes have been modified to suit Aishwarya’s personality. The script has not been changed, though,” More >
Salman gets 17.5 cr plus from YRF?
0Meena Iyer (BOMBAY TIMES; May 9, 2011) A banner that has bargained with everyone from Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan to Ranbir Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor, never agreeing to pay the Bollywood superstars their full market price has just had to bow to Salman Khan.
Says a source, “This banner is desperate to work with Salman. For their spy thriller, that will be shot in at least seven foreign locations, they have apparently signed him for 17.5 crore plus a share in the profits.”
Salman has been getting even better remuneration from many of his other producers. However this price is the highest price paid to an actor by this banner.
Our source clarifies, “Aamir who has worked with this banner in the past and who is working with them again in 2012 is also getting a lucrative price and has a profit-sharing arrangement. However it is Salman’s ability to be able to knock out money from these guys which is now the talking point in Naaz Building (Bollywood’s stock exchange).”
Incidentally, Ranbir who has done two movies for this production house in the past has allegedly told the scion of this movie empire that for their next project he wants a full-bound script and his full market price which is around 15 crore.
Looks like after Salman’s case, actors will start renegotiating with this banner.
Izzat Bach Gayi-Hrithik Roshan
0Hrithik Roshan had promised Gauri Khan a win
Roshni K Olivera (BOMBAY TIMES; May 9, 2011) The Kolkata IPL match on Saturday saw a number of celebs, all of whom had specially been flown down from Mumbai by Shah Rukh Khan in a chartered flight. There was one rare guest — Hrithik Roshan, who’s never been seen at matches before. In fact, this was the first time Duggu was watching a match live and he actually flew down separately to wish SRK and Gauri luck.
Says Hrithik, “It was my first ever experience of watching a live match in India. The excitement was palpable! I was there to cheer Gauri. Actually, I was under tremendous pressure because I promised her we’d win if I came. Izzat bach gayi! But, I’m truly glad that it turned out a happy day.” Now that Hrithik’s become their lucky mascot, we won’t be surprised if the Khans want him to be present at all the remaining matches.
