0The actress is set to join a campaign to raise awareness about the availability and distribution of drinking water and to keep the tankers off the city streets

A city that never runs out of causes will never run out of celebrities to endorse them. And joining the league of extraordinary men and women who have often picked up a broom or a bucket to show their solidarity with the suffering masses, is actress Sonam Kapoor.
The starlet who will be flying soon to Cannes to walk the red carpet in designer togs, has found time from her hectic schedule to lend her name to a campaign to free Mumbai of water tankers.
Every day, 10,000 tankers take to the streets supplying water to the farthest reaches of cityInitiated by a city NGO, the campaign called Tanker Free Mumbai, intends to spread awareness about the amount of water which is adequately available for the city’s needs as per the water availability reports released by the civic body.
In a statement released by the NGO, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) claims that there is enough water to serve the city till the monsoon arrives (June 2011). The lake levels too are considerably high this year and there is 3.41 lakh million litres of water in reserves as of May 4 2011.

In her ambitious move from saas to saucy (Mumbai Mirror, April 19), Ekta Kapoor has faced yet another obstacle. On May 5, we told you how the filmmaker’s promotions for her upcoming project Ragini MMS, based on the real life experience of 22-year old Deepika from Delhi, did not go down well with the authorities.
Many of the hoardings around the city were taken down on charges of vulgarity. Now we hear that the A -rated film, which underwent intense scrutiny by the censor board last afternoon, will not include three significant scenes.
A source close to the film explained, “The Censors objected to three scenes in particular:
1. When Rajkumar and Kainaz (the male and female lead in the film) reach the bungalow to spend a weekend, he talks to her about taking aphrodisiac tablets and the impact it would have on his anatomy in graphic language
2. Rajkumar visually indicates his expectations from her regarding oral sex
3. While the couple get intimate, they use outrageously vulgar language referring to male and female genitals.”
When asked how Ekta and her team in Balaji have reacted to the deletion of the scenes, the source said, “Nothing can be done.

Embarrassed to see 40+ wife as a heroine?-Farah Khan
0That’s what choreographer Farah Khan asked her husband Shirish Kunder after getting an offer to play the female lead in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Shirin Farhad to be directed by his sister Bela
Vickey Lalwani (MUMBAI MIRROR; May 07, 2011)
Ace choreographer -filmmaker Farah Khan is all set to make her Bollywood debut as a lead actor. The woman who created Munni and Sheila has been signed on as the leading lady in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Shirin Farhad to be directed by his sister Bela.
A visibly glowing Khan met us at her Seven Bungalows flat and kickstarted a rather interesting and revealing tete-a-tete, saying, “Shoot your questions. My triplets just went to sleep, they sleep in unison.”
How did it feel when you were asked to play the female lead in Bhansali’s Shirin Farhad?
Thinking he was pulling my leg, I said, ‘You’re mad’.
Understandable, since the two of you have often taken digs at each other…
(Laughs) Yeah, we have trashed each other in the past. We have actually shared a very off-on relationship. We started our careers around the same time (pauses and stares at the ceiling).
Go on…
Yogen ShahBut we have been more than fine with each other for the past couple of years. We started bonding after my babies were born. He sent me a very sweet SMS and I sent biryani on his birthday. Since then we have been very cordial.
Did you say ‘yes’ to Bhansali instantly?
(Smiles) I asked Shirish if he would be embarrassed to see his 40-plus wife More >
Salman’s next possibly in 3D
0If all goes well, he might be the first Khan we’ll get to watch in 3D in his next film Sher Khan
Kunal M Shah (MUMBAI MIRROR; May 07, 2011)
Imagine Salman Khan’s too-hot-to-handle abs. And now imagine it in 3D. Beating the other Khans, Salman has now decided to go three dimensional in his next film Sher Khan.
“First of all I am not playing Tarzan in the film and it has got nothing to do with the character at all. It is an adventure film based in a jungle,” clarified Salman Khan about his next endeavour with his brother Sohail.
While he dismisses any link to the famous man of the jungle in Sher Khan, the brothers are reportedly toying with the idea of making the film in 3D.
Our source told us, “It is Sohail’s idea to make it in 3D. However, Salman bhai is still in two minds about this. Shooting in 3D is very difficult and going by the standards of special effects expected these days, the Khan brothers want everything to be sorted before they take the final call.
However, Sohail is quite confident given his technical finesse. He is known to be very hands-on, as far as his films are concerned. Plus the film is a jungle adventure and so it will be fun watching the film, if it is in 3D.”
When asked about his scepticism to make the film in 3D, Salman explained, “As far as 3D goes, I am not sure. We are definitely thinking about it. However, 3D films have not worked in India and I am not too sure about its market.”
When contacted, Sohail said, “I am More >
Ranveer, Anushka found cuddling in Ranbir’s bash?
0Ranveer and Anushka found cuddling in a corner at Ranbir’s big bash on Tuesday night. Go on, say it’s still ‘platonic’

Dating isn’t a bad thing. We wonder why the tinsel townies still keep denying their romantic liasions time and again? Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharma, for instance, were simply friends first.
Then they reportedly, kissed at Shahid Kapoor’s party in February. Still, Anushka maintaining the platonic nature of their relationship, said in a recent interview, “We are great friends. We hang out, have coffee together, go out for dinners.
We have common friends. We have some karmic connection but it’s totally platonic.” Yeah right! That’s why they were inseparable at Ranbir Kapoor’s recent house party held at Krishna Raj. Wonder what Plato has to say to that.
Let us refresh your memory. Not so long ago, Anushka had told a section of the media, “I have sworn on my movie Band Baaja Baaraat that Ranveer and I are not dating. There is no bigger proof I can give. He keeps to himself most of the time.
He is not a person who will ask his girlfriend about her day and if she is okay or not. He is overdramatic and psychotic. Hats off to the girl who’s ever going to date him.”
On the other hand, Ranveer had said, “Our relationship is such that we are unabashedly taking each other’s case, tearing each other’s hair out if we happen to spend even fifteen minutes at a stretch in one room. More >
Arjun Rampal turns peacemaker
0The actor and his wife Mehr Jessia are trying to sort things out between friends Mozez Singh and Shah Rukh Khan who got into a scuffle recently
Prithwish Ganguly (BOMBAY TIMES; May 7, 2011) Arjun Rampal and Mehr Jessia are in that uncomfortable place where two of their friends are fighting. It’s never easy to take sides. So they are doing what all good friends would do — try and patch them up. Shah Rukh Khan and producer Mozez Singh got into a scuffle at a recent party. A tabloid reported how Mozez kept making remarks all evening, and made guests at the party uncomfortable. But then he made the mistake of rubbing King Khan the wrong way. Shah Rukh, who was already in a bad mood, lost his temper when Mozez made a nasty comment, and grabbed him by the neck. Fisticuffs would’ve followed had friends not restrained Khan. Now the Rampals have taken it upon themselves to sort things out between their friends. Knowing how SRK has always detached himself off from all the people he has ever had problems with (Salman Khan tops the list and even Shirish Kunder), getting him to shake hands with Mozez is going to be difficult. Arjun and Mehr know this and thus they have got hold of Gauri Khan to be their key ally in this cause.
“Mozez is great friends with Arjun and Mehr and even Gauri Khan. It is through this connection that SRK too, became friends with Mozez. Together they are all desperately trying to get King Khan to forgive him. The More >
Ekta Kapoor to host Threesome Party
0By Subhash K. Jha, May 5, 2011 – 11:01 IST
Ekta Kapoor has undergone a complete transformation of personality. From her hair and clothes which have gone from casual and functional to ultra-chic and eye-catching, to her movies which unlike her domesticated soap operas on TV are now sharp, smart and sexy. Yup, the movies she makes also reflect her changed personality.
And now Ekta’s parties are also getting wilder by the month. When one heard that she was hosting a theme party where all the invitees have to come as a threesome instead of a conventional pair, the immediate reaction to the orgiastic concept was disbelief. Yup, the Balaji tycoon sure has come of age!
According to whispers around Balaji Films, Ekta plans to host a Three-Is-Cool party on May 7 where she will invite all her friends from the film and television industry to come as a threesome.
But the real excitement would come from Ekta’s actors and actresses from the film industry. Some of the Balaji leading men are so spoilt for choices that they are already calling up Ekta’s office asking if they could bring 4 and 5 girls instead of 2. The invitees also want to know how adventurous the party is going get after getting so innovative about the invites.
When contacted Ekta is at her naughtiest best. “No no no. They can’t come with four or five chicks. It’s got to be threesomes. The party is a Threesome Party. My film Ragini MMS has a catch line saying, ‘They didn’t know it but it was a threesome’. More >
Raajneeti stars will appear in National Anthem video in cinema halls
0By Devansh Patel, May 7, 2010 – 15:39 IST
Download Raajneeti wallpapersWhen was the last time you stood up in silence with respect? If you want to ponder over this question, I’d suggest you on medication. Here’s when. Composed by Rabindranath Tagore, the song ‘Jana Gana Mana‘ was first sung on December 27, 1911 at the Calcutta session of the Indian National Congress. On January 24, 1950, the Constituent Assembly adopted the song as the National Anthem of India.
So before you munch on your pop-corns and sip your favourite cola, you’d be standing with respect in the cinema hall when the National Anthem is going on. You feel a sudden high, don’t you? When you see the soldiers on the Siachen glacier trying hard to hoist the Indian flag. That’s the spirit of India and us Indians. We’ve never backed off, we’ve always fought hard.
Some cinema halls have shown the entire Marathi television and film personalities coming together and singing the National Anthem in unity.
But come tomorrow, when you are just about to get up and stand in silence with respect before your favourite movie begins, you might just choke. Choke, not because the National Anthem is getting replaced by some other song. No! But because you’ll see Katrina Kaif, Ranbir Kapoor, Arjun Rampal, Ajay Devgn, Nana Patekar, Manoj Bajpai and Naseeruddin Shah all sing the National Anthem with humility, respect, honour, courage and patriotism.
