The media thinks you take the ‘I-will-talkwhen-I-want-to’ stance too often… I haven’t changed a bit over the years. But yes, journalism has changed a lot. It’s not my nature to take calls from the media and talk each time I get an SMS about any issue. If it’s something that makes sense to me, I’d probably answer, but not when I’m busy working or spending time with my family. The latest couple in Bollywood is Rock On!! director Abhishek Kapoor and actress Kim Sharma. Kim, who has dumped all plans to marry her Spanish boyfriend, singer Carlos Marin, said, “I’m definitely not getting married in February 2010 (as reported earlier).”

In the last two weeks, Abhishek and Kim have been spotted painting the town red at several restaurants, coffee shops and nightclubs. They first met through a common friend and instantly clicked. Abhishek’s fling with Kamal Haasan’s daughter, Shruti Haasan is over. “He was close to Shruti till the last month but their relationship has fizzled out,” said a source.

“Now, Abhishek is totally smitten with Kim. And yes, Kim likes him a lot too. They are spending a lot of time together these days. Even when they aren’t together, they are either talking on the phone or texting each other,” added the source.

Both Abhishek and Kim have had their share of affairs. Kim had a torrid relationship with cricketer Yuvraj Singh for four years and after their break-up has seldom been single. Meanwhile, Abhishek has been linked with several actresses in the past.

Although Kim refused to comment on her current relationship, Abhishek said, “I know this is a cliché but Kim and I are just good friends.”

It’s official. Shraddha Nigam and Karan Singh Grover’s 10-month-old marriage is over thanks to Karan’s philandering. Karan has moved out of their Andheri flat where he was staying with Shraddha after their marriage. A close friend of the couple says, “Shraddha is simply not interested where Karan is these days. She doesn’t even call or message him.”

It was entirely Shraddha’s decision to part ways with Karan. She did not even tell her parents before calling off the relationship. Her parents are deeply upset about their daughter’s marriage having gone kaput.

Shraddha is soon going to file for divorce and has already appointed a lawyer. “The faster she gets out of this, the better. The marriage ended on a very ugly and messy note,” adds the couple’s common friend.

Shraddha and Karan’s relationship ran into rough waters when Karan started having a steamy affair with a choreographer, who he met on the sets of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 3. Karan’s attraction towards the choreographer refused to die down.  A source says, “The choreographer is a very ambitious girl. She now aspires to take part in a beauty pageant.”

After their marriage, Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan have seldom been seen apart. Be it filmi events, the Cannes festival, films such as Sarkar Raj and forthcoming films Raavana and Crooked or even a recent episode of the Oprah Winfrey show, the doting couple is always seen hand-in-hand, smiling happily much to the delight of photographers.

Now, the couple is ready to take brand Bachchan to an altogether next level with a soap commercial. Buzz is that they are being paid a whopping Rs 25 crore for the ad. The deal, which has been kept under wraps, was finalised four days ago.

Explaining why the couple was paid an exorbitant amount, that too for an ad film, a source said, “The endorsement market is booming right now. Also, it will be the first time that Abhishek and the Bachchan bahu will be seen together in a commercial. The couple had been in talks for a long time with the ad filmmakers, who were extremely keen to get the two together. They finally agreed to be part of the ad last week.”

Cynics may say they saw this coming all the while but till Rakhi Sawant actually threw Elesh Parujanwala out of her life there was still some hope that the grand 23-episode Swayamvar reality show would actually end in marriage at some point.

Reportedly Rakhi incensed at Elesh’s western ways, fluent English and insistence that their baby should be born in Canada has finally decided that she does not want to marry the man and has broken off the engagement. That he insists that she give up her career and move to Canada with him makes the prospect of marriage, scarier.

Elesh will leave for Canada today, a broken man. But he will keep his promise to the channel for which he is raising a false family with her and will return to shoot the next schedule.

Rakhi was all righteous indignation when asked about the split. ‘I can’t understand his fluent English, he can’t understand Hindi at all,’ she said petulantly. “Kaise chalega?”

Marriage has given Ayesha Takia Azmi a new address. She now lives in a swank South Mumbai high-rise and is married to restaurateur-cum-businessman Farhan Azmi. The attractive actress with cascading long, brown locks has received accolades for every performance of hers — be it Dor or 8 x 10 Tasveer. And, marriage hasn’t dimmed her enthusiasm towards work.
