Prachi’s relatives miffed with her intimate scenes?

…over her love-making scene in her recent film
Prithwish Ganguly | TNN (BOMBAY TIMES; August 27, 2010)
Prachi Desai, who wore nothing but ethnic outfits during her TV serial days and played a character that was virginal pure, suddenly decided to go bold with Ekta Kapoor’s Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai. She pulled off a steamy love-making scene with Emraan Hashmi sporting Dimple Kapadia’s Bobby look with ease. But it looks like her sudden transition has shocked people, who had a set image of the actress in mind, including her family members. On the internet, some of her fans too have not been welcoming about her move. “Prachi hails from a slightly conservative family and her relatives have called her up saying that they aren’t happy with her decision to go bold on screen. They told her she should have stuck to her image that gave her the big break in Bollywood — Rock On,” says a source.
When contacted, Prachi however put up a brave front. “There are some who might have not have liked to see me in my new avatar, but I don’t think it was too bold. My only request to those having a problem with my decision to experiment is to look at me from an actor’s point of view and not stereotype me on the basis of what they have seen me do on TV. As an actor I needed to break the set image to grow. It’s not that I’m going nude or doing something cheap. I need to experiment and mature,” she said.
John Abraham’s intimate scene with Sonal Sehgal in Aashayein
Aug 21st
By Bollywood Hungama News Network, August 21, 2010 – 14:12 IST

One film of John Abraham that has long been in the making is finally seeing the light of the day. Yes we are talking about Aashayein directed by Nagesh Kukunoor. John plays a compulsive gambler in the film and is paired opposite Sonal Sehgal. The duo share a few intimate moments in the film.
John’s butt-revealing act in Dostana had earlier pulled a lot of eye-balls. It would be interesting to see if this intimate love-making scene with Sonal too manages to pull in the crowds.
The scene is an important part of the film and gives John’s character a new twist. Even though it’s graphic in nature, the director has made sure he’s shot it aesthetically.
John has always maintained that Aashayein is a film very close to his heart. In fact the actor had lost a lot of weight to get into the skin of the character. It will be interesting to see if the film manages to strike a chord with the audience when it releases this Friday- August 27.

Neil smooches Deepika
Jul 25th

Subhash K Jha | TNN (BOMBAY TIMES; July 25, 2010)

This is funny. Neil Nitin Mukesh had to kiss Deepika Padukone on screen for their forthcoming film Lafangey Parindey and the actor reportedly got cold feet. Not because he’s a virgin screenkisser and, well, Deepika has the experience of kissing Saif Ali Khan before camera for Love Aaj Kal… but, apparently, because Neil’s had a no-kiss policy in all his films so far. His first director Sriram Raghavan had thrown a fit when Neil refused to kiss Rimi Sen. In his second film, Tera Kya Hoga Johnny, director Sudhir Mishra insisted Neil kiss Shahana Goswami. But the actor refused. Even in Jail where there was a love-making scene with Mughda Godse, Neil refused to kiss the sultry actress. But Lafange Parindey director Pradeep Sarkar pulled the plug on Neil’s chastity vow. A source from the set said it was a long, torrid smooch comparable in intensity and duration to the Aamir Khan-Karisma Kapoor kiss in Raja Hindustani. And Neil was nervous! To be kissing the lovely Deepika! Makes us wonder…
Prakash Jha’s special gift for Vasundhara Raje and 70 MLAs
Jun 23rd
By Subhash K. Jha, June 23, 2010 – 11:35 IST
For those 70 MLAs and Vasundhara Raje who have got themselves into serious trouble for watching a pirated DVD of Prakash Jha’s Raajneeti in a luxury hotel in Rajasthan on Tuesday, Jha has a special gift coming up.
He will gift a legitimate DVD of the film to each of the MLAs when the DVD is officially released in two weeks’ time.
“I hope they would finally see the difference between the grainy bootleg version of the film that they allegedly saw in Jaipur and a legally manufactured DVD of Raajneeti,” says Jha a tad caustically.
However, the sizzling love-making scene between Arjun Rampal and Shruti Seth would be deleted from the DVD, since Prakash doesn’t want our politicians to get “unnecessarily worked-up when there’s so much to be done in building the nation.”
On Tuesday, June 15, over 70 MLAs of the BJP allegedly watched the film on a spurious DVD projected on to a large screen.
Says the director, “Apparently, these MLAs couldn’t tell the difference between a pirated DVD and legitimate DVD. It’s a pity a politician of Vasundhara Raje’s stature couldn’t tell the difference between being on the right or wrong side of the law.”
Jha says he would’ve happily arranged a special legitimate screening of Raajneeti for the MLAs.
Apparently, an FIR has been filed against the MLAs. But Prakash doesn’t believe the law can be effective in a case of viewing a pirated DVD. “At the most, the police will visit the hotel where the MLAs allegedly viewed the DVD. There will be no evidence of their wrongdoing. The matter will end there.”
But the director known for his socio-political exposes won’t allow the matter to due down. Prakash Jha has more constructive plans for exposing the nexus between piracy and politics. In a political thriller that he plans, he intends to incorporate a sequence showing politicians enjoying the clandestine screening of a film. To add to the irony, the film that these politicians would be watching is Raajneeti.
Says our Jha, “It is very important for politicians to set the right example, especially the ones who are taken seriously like Mrs Vasundhara Raje. And we need to create an awareness of political responsibilities through cinema.”

Bips and H’bad ‘stud’ make love on screen
Jun 12th

It’s regular, says Bengali bombshell, of scene that is reportedly explicit
MEENA IYER Times News Network (BOMBAY TIMES; June 12, 2010)
It seems to be the season to get Bipasha Basu in the buff, even it is only for her screen assignments. Recently, a decade-old commercial of the Bengali bombshell re-surfaced on a social networking site with a shot of her right breast reportedly exposed. And, now there is news that Bips has done a smoking hot love-making scene with Hyderabad sensation Rana Daggubati in Rohan Sippy’s Dum Maro Dum that deals with the glitzy drug world of Goa. Abhishek Bachchan plays a tough cop in this film but it is Rana who gets to romance Bipasha. Sources say that the scene with Rana and Bipasha can be described as angrily passionate and “very intimate’’.
Though several Bollywood actors were auditioned for his role, Rana was chosen because he has a lot of sexual magnetism and that ‘stud’ quality.
Bipasha is wondering what the fuss is all about. “You decide when you see the film whether it fits the description of super-hot,’’ says the actress known for her plain speak. “The scene is all right. In fact, I think it is regular, like in all films nowadays. What is interesting is the new pairing of Rana and me.”
Even if the truth lies between Bipasha’s version and the Chinese whispers, those who have seen the rushes are raving about the raw physicality between the two. The scene was shot with minimum of crew around. “It is explicit but at the same time very passionate. Bipasha has a lot of sex appeal and they have paired her with someone who can match that degree of sexuality on screen,’’ says an insider who witnessed the filming. Over to you, John.

Censors chop down LSD sex scene to just 15 seconds
Mar 17th
Dibakar Banerjee is an unhappy man, especially since his film Love, Sex aur Dhokha is scheduled for release this Friday and he just got the censor board certificate yesterday. The film is releasing with five cuts and a toned down sex scene. This impacts the overseas distribution as well, as usually the film makes it across the shores a week in advance.
Apparently, the censor board was not pleased with the director’s ‘bold’ theme and had asked for changes before clearing it. Objections were made to a few dialogues and Dibakar was asked to reduce the love-making scenes in the film before reapplying for the certificate. Dibakar made the requisite changes, including redubbing some of the ‘objectionable’ language in the film.

Vinayak Azad, Regional Officer of Censor Board, said, “Yes, we asked them for some language as well as some visual cuts. They had already blurred the sex scene and even changed the word from ‘nangi’ to ‘gandi’. They have reduced the sex scene to 15 seconds. Normally the certificate is issued two weeks before the film’s release but it got delayed because of the cuts.”
The actors refused to comment on the issue. Anshuman Jha, the lead actor of the film, said, “I think Dibakar is the right person to speak about this.” Amit Sial, who plays a journalist who carries out the sting operation in the film said, “I am an actor in the film and I have done my job. Apart from this, I can’t comment on anything further.”
Dibakar had no choice but to comply. He said, “Yes, they asked for a few cuts and we removed the mention of a particular caste. Apart from that, we have also reduced the sex scene in the film and it is only 15 seconds long.”
Shahid insisted Ken to remove kissing scene from CPD?

A jittery Shahid Kapoor forces Ken Ghosh to chop a steamy kissing scene with Genelia
It was a lip lock that was just becoming a major talking point for the upcoming Shahid Kapoor-Genelia D’Souza starrer Chance Pe Dance, but now the scene has been chopped off completely. And don’t blame the Censor Board, it’s Shahid himself playing moral police.
Apparently the actor developed cold feet when he saw the scene because he was certain that the scene wouldn’t go down well with the legion of kids who comprise a major portion of his fan base.

A source close to the development confirms, “Yes, there was a kissing scene in the film along with a love-making scene. However Shahid thought that it wouldn’t be good for his image with the kids. He also felt it would put off people from coming to the cinema hall with their kids, and he did not want that to happen. So he spoke to Ken Ghosh (the director) and insisted the scene be removed from the film. Though Ken wasn’t very keen about the idea since the shot had taken a lot of effort, he finally understood Shahid’s point of view — even Ken loved the idea of the film not having an A certificate. The scene has been removed.”
When contacted, Ken didn’t seem to be complaining at all. “My film is for teenagers, for children and for families. It’s a wholesome entertainer with humour, emotional moments and lots of fun. It’s got great music and fantastic dancing — and it’s got a U certificate. Need I say more?”

A source said, “The censor board was extremely strict. Seven scenes, including a love-making scene between Neil and Mugdha Godse, a homosexual scene, a sex joke and Neil’s nude scene, have all been slashed. Abusive dialogues have also been deleted. While Madhur was unwilling to concede a bit, he was also not ready to release the film with an A certificate.”
