Abhay Deol’s girlfriend Preeti Desai has moved in with him
Abhay Deol and his girlfriend, Preeti Desai (British model and Miss Great Britain 2006), are inseparable. The 20 March 2009 issue of Mumbai Mirror was the first to report that they were dating. On 9 July 2010 we further informed you that Preeti had flown to Spain to accompany Abhay, who was shooting for Zoya Akhtar’s Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. The latest grapevine is that the two are now in a live-in relationship.
Preeti has moved into Abhay’s flat at Juhu. Earlier, Abhay was living with the Deols in their palatial bunglow in Juhu. However, he moved out in 2007 and is now living in a separate house in the same locality, one that Preeti could well be sharing with the actor. Says a source, “The two are very happy. Their relationship, which did have its fair share of ups and downs, is now rock-steady.”
Preeti and Abhay’s relationship ran into turbulent waters when Abhay went to America in mid-2009 for a few months; the long distance started telling on their relationship.
But once Abhay returned to India, the two not only sorted out their problems but also cemented their union.
This is not the first time that Abhay is in a live-in relationship. In a recent interview to a magazine, he said, “I’ve had a live-in relationship before, and I’m most likely to have one again.
If I was serious with a girl, things would automatically move towards living together.”
Preeti is the first woman of Indian origin to win the Miss Great Britain title. Born and brought up in London, she is settled in Mumbai since 2008 and done quite a few modelling assignments.
Abhay and Preeti first met in February 2009 at the success party of the Abhay starrer Dev D. It was love at first sight.
Both Preeti and Abhay are quite settled in their respective careers. While Abhay has almost moved into a quasi-A bracket post Dev D, Preeti has a lot of modelling work, aside from Ekta Kapoor’s film Shor opposite American TV actor Sendhil Ramamurthy.
Neither Abhay nor Preeti responded to our text messages.
Raveena Tandon plays peacemaker between her brother Rajeev and father Ravi Tandon
All’s well in the Tandon household now. ‘90s actress Raveena Tandon and her brother Rajeev have buried the hatchet, and the latter has returned to be reunited with the family in Tandon House.
It was rumoured that the two had a fall-out on a property dispute nearly four years ago. At the time Rajeev and wife Rakhi (remember Sweety from Ekta Kapoor’s popular TV serial Hum Paanch?) had walked out of Tandon House and cut off with Rajeev’s parents Ravi Tandon and his wife. Rajiv and Rakhi eventually divorced.
Raveena played peacemaker in the family and initiated the patch-up. Revealed a source, “In the interim period Ravi Tandon’s health took a beating. There were constant fights in the family; but which family does not have its share of problems.
As time went by, the senior Tandon started missing his son intensely, which is when Raveena decided that it was time to turn around the events.”
Raveena said, “I only did what was needed. Any parent would love to be with his/her son. Family is family, isn’t it? Yes, Rajiv is back in Tandon House and living very happily with my parents.”
Meanwhile, rumours were rife that Rajeev is living in an apartment in Lokhandwala Complex with singer Xenia Ali. Our source denies this, insisting that he was staying in his cousin’s rented flat.
The talented actress Konkona Sen Sharma is now Ranvir Shorey’s lawfully wedded wife. Congratulations, guys!
On September 2, Mumbai Mirror broke the story that Konkona Sen Sharma and Ranvir Shorey will marry this week. And sure enough, they’ve done it!
The two actors exchanged marriage vows on Friday evening, sharp at 6 pm, at their Goregaon residence. The couple has been living in together for the past two years.

Though the entire affair was meant to be kept under wraps, we snooped around and our photographer Nilesh Wairkar managed to get Ranvir’s picture atop a horse. Says a source, Ranvir clearly stood out amongst all the baaraatis and was looking smashing in his wedding attire.”
Meanwhile, the reticent Konkona remained indoors through most of the ceremony with very close family and friends, strictly avoiding the media glare. Though actors are known to avoid the media, barring a few of course, a lot of them, like Fardeen Khan or Shilpa Shetty were gracious enough to come out and pose for the Press, after completing the marriage rituals.
But Konkona and Ranvir chose not to do that.
Strangely, most Bollywood waalahs, were not included in the guest list either. But for Koel Purie, who obviously chose to go.
The wedding ceremony was an interesting blend of Bengali and Punjabi traditions. Konkona looked resplendent in her grandmother’s traditional Bengali jewellery, which surely would have made mamma Aparna Sen proud. Ranvir tried to put up a tough match in his traditional shervani, decked in flowers from head to toe.
Though the ceremonies happened indoors, our photographer learnt later that the couple was seen rushing off to an unknown destination for their reception. Our source adds, “Most industry folks were not invited even to this function. Konkona and Ranvir have always been very low profile people and they are not likely to ever change.”
Actually, they might have had to change; at receptions you’re expected to wear different clothes.

Payal Rohatgi on the abuse, physical and mental, she endured while in a relationship with Rahul Mahajan
• Are you surprised that Rahul’s marriage has hit the rocks so soon?
Knowing Rahul, I am not surprised. He loves to change partners. For him, swayamvar was a gimmick. He offered me big money to participate in the show (pauses).
• Go on…
Rahul has been harassing me since the past two months. He has been sending me very odd messages at odd hours. Initially, I ignored his calls and messages, but eventually, I told him to lay off. But he continued.
• What exactly has he been telling you?
He said, ‘I am sorry. We should work out things between us again.’ It all smacked of desperation. But Rahul is not a man of his word.
• How long were you in a relationship with him?
Eight months. I was very serious about him and made a fool of myself.
• Is Rahul aggressive?
Men have that in them if they are under the influence of something.
• Drinks? Drugs?
No comments. Don’t drag me there.
• What do you have to say about the company he keeps?
He is surrounded by people who don’t advise him well.
• You haven’t answered my question. Is Rahul aggressive?
Yes, he is aggressive if and when he loses it.
• How often does he lose it?
(Laughs) I didn’t count. But if he loses it, he is vindictive too.
• Did he hit you?
Yes. It happened just before we went for Bigg Boss 3. I was late by only 15 minutes and he accused me of having an affair with my co-actor Irrfan Khan.
• Go on…
I was living-in with him then. When I reached home, he was so angry he banged my head against a door. I was bleeding. He then he started cajoling me. The doctor was called. Rahul told him I had fallen in the bathroom.
• Any other incident of violence?
Once I didn’t take his call since I was busy. He slapped me when we met.
• Describe Rahul as a boyfriend.
When he is wooing you, he will shower gifts and call you 200 times a day. But then, he changes colours. It takes very little to arouse his suspicions. Once suspicious, he creates hell. He is not even a dependable friend. Rahul is not a stable guy.
• Why didn’t you try to change him?
It is very difficult to change a 34-year-old.
• Do you repent that you were swayed by Rahul’s connections?
No. Life is a teacher isn’t it?
• You think that the two finalists (Nikunj Malik, Harpreet Chhabra) in swayamvar who lost to Dimpy were lucky?
Yes. And I was luckier than them. Only Dimpy…(sighs)
Now that the couple is trying to give love a second chance, Isha is willing to make amends even at the cost of her career
Not all cricket-Bollywood link-ups go the Harbhajan Singh-Geeta Basra way. India’s fast bowler Zaheer Khan and Bollywood actress Isha Sharvani are back together and are trying to make things work, come hell or high water. In fact, Isha is making serious amendments to her list of priorities, now that Zaheer and she are giving their relationship a second chance.
Isha and Zaheer dated for nearly two years before calling it quits in 2007, post which they didn’t stay in touch. Both of them quietly stepped out of the media glare to get back to their respective careers. Interestingly, neither Zaheer nor Isha was linked with anyone else in these two years of separation from each other. Obviously, the two couldn’t sever emotional ties. Now, they’ve decided to give love another chance.
Though no one knows who initiated the reconciliation, a source close to the couple tells Mumbai Mirror, “Despite splitting up, Isha and Zaheer could never forget each other. Friends in their circle knew that a reunion was inevitable.”
But it’s come at a cost. Though Isha can’t stop smiling after Zaheer came back into his life, she has started taking liberties with her career. Recently, she bunked the shoot of Kingdom Of Dreams in Delhi and she was eventually asked to leave the cast of the musical play.
A source says, “Isha and her fellow actors had been housed in Delhi to shoot for the musical play Kingdom Of Dreams. None of the actors from the play is supposed to leave the set, but Isha did not pay heed to this instruction.
She kept meeting Zaheer in Delhi. Now Isha is out of the project. Producers of Kingdom Of Dreams, Wizcraft International Entertainment, are talking to a new actress Kashmira (she acted in the TV show Amber Dhara) to play Isha’s role now.”
Viraf Sarkari, Director of Wizcraft International Entertainment, confirmed that Isha is out from Kingdom Of Dreams. He said, “She quit Kingdom Of Dreams because of personal reasons.”
So be it. Throwing light on how the reconciliation happened between Isha and Zaheer, a source says, “During one of their meetings in Delhi, they decided to take a call on their personal life.
After sufficient thought, they felt that they should give their relationship another shot.” Isha’s mother, dancer Daksha Seth, was apparently never happy about her daughter’s relationship with Zaheer. That hasn’t stopped Isha.
Zaheer and Isha first met at a function in 2005. The touring Australian team was leaving India and Isha was performing at the event. They got talking and exchanged numbers.
Later, they kept bumping into each other at parties and social dos and were soon drawn to each other. Reportedly, Zaheer even helped Isha find a place in Khar. It was reported that they were even living-in for a brief period.
When contacted, Isha asked what the story was all about. When told to comment on her reconciliation with Zaheer, she chose to remain quiet. She didn’t, as they say, play ball. And neither did Zaheer, who also chose not to comment.
