A glimpse at Katrina Kaif’s strict diet for her lean look in the upcoming action thriller

Getting chosen to play the female lead in Dhoom 3 is no mean task, and no one knows it better than Katrina Kaif. No wonder that she is leaving no stone unturned to make sure she looks her fittest for the upcoming installment, opposite Abhishek Bachchan and Aamir Khan.

Esha Deol and Bipasha Basu too had to shed off kilos to fit into their action avatars in the previous two outings. A source close to the actress says, “Kat is not only concentrating on her fitness regime but also on her diet. The actress is undergoing training in mixed martial art, parkour and more. The best thing is that Kat is not a fussy eater.”

Katrina Kaif is the only actress doing three films with one banner and the reigning Khan trio

Everyone knows that in Bollywood, it is the heroes who call the shots. The leading ladies are just incidental to the plot. So when one of B-Town’s most powerful production houses signs an actress for three big projects, it is definitely time for the competition to sit up and take notice. Not only is Katrina Kaif doing three films for Aditya Chopra’s home production Yash Raj Films, she has been paired opposite the top three Khans.

While Kareena Kapoor has already worked with Salman, Aamir and Shah Rukh, they were all projects with different production houses. Clearly, Chopra’s production house has never put so much faith in one actress. In fact, they’ve rarely repeated their leading ladies (barring Rani Mukerji and Anushka Sharma), and often work with the No 1 actress of the time before moving on to the next big star. Rekha acted in Silsila (1981), Juhi in Darr (1993), and Madhuri Dixit in Dil Toh Pagal Hai (1997).

Interestingly, Kat has already worked with the banner twice — in New York (2009) and Mere Brother Ki Dulhan (2011). Although she has worked with Salman in many films; come 2013, she begins Dhoom 3 with Aamir and an untitled film in 2012 with Shah Rukh for the first time. The trade is abuzz with the news of how the actress, who has hit it off with Adi, has replaced Rani as the new favourite of the banner.

Katrina Kaif to sing for Dhoom 3?

YRF’s new blue-eyed girl Katrina will take her first steps in the world of music in their upcoming project Dhoom 3

Katrina Kaif’s dream of taking her mother, brother and sisters on a long vacation has to be put on hold for the time being.

After completing the current schedule of Ek Tha Tiger in Dublin, the actress will have to start preparing for her character in Dhoom 3 in the month that she had kept aside for her family holiday.

According to sources, Katrina has received an urgent return-to-duty call from Yashraj Films to not just learn some heavy-duty stunts but also exercise her vocal cords for her role in the sequel to Dhoom.

The actress will need to undertake para gliding lessons and a full-fledged singing course for the project. “Katrina has to go one up on the last Dhoom heroine Aishwarya Rai. That’s a tall order in itself,” informed a source.

Katrina, who had been planning to sing for Ali Zafar’s album has yet been uninitiated into the realm of music. This will be the first time Katrina will sing for herself in a film.

Apart from the singing, Katrina it seems has a lot of pending work for the same film.  She will need to discuss with Aditya Chopra and director Vijay Krishna Acharya about the look, body language, spoken language and attitude of her character in the project.

How Katrina Kaif finally signed up for Dhoom 3

Many names, including top international ones, were considered for the coveted role of the screen queen opposite bad-boy Aamir Khan in Dhoom 3.

Finally it’s Katrina Kaif, after all, who has bagged the prized part.

Katrina, it must be remembered, was Yash Chopra, Aditya Chopra and director Vijay Krishna Acharya’s first choice for the part. But the actress, hell bent on building on her wholesome image, had major misgivings about some of the things that the role required from her. There was the mandatory girl-in-a-bikini Dhoom shot.

With her new policy of no kissing and no exposure, Katrina begged off the role. Says a very reliable source, “Katrina very clearly told her dear friend Aditya Chopra that she would not be comfortable doing some of the scenes. Aditya told her she was crazy to turn down the chance of playing the Dhoom girl, and that too opposite Aamir Khan, but Katrina is very clear about what she wants to and doesn’t want to do on screen. And nothing could make her change her mind. She suggested that they look for someone else.”

The hunt for Aamir’s Dhoom girl even went international with hot global faces being considered. Incidentally, a couple of A-list actresses got their publicity machinery to plant stories of being chosen for Dhoom 3.

Katrina wont wear bikini in Dhoom 3?

Aditya Chopra accepts the actress’s no-bikini conditions just like he did for Ash in Dhoom 2 ; signs Kaif for the third film of the series

She might have had to wear a bikini in her debut film Boom in 2003. But it seems that Katrina, who is relatively newer in the industry, is taken as seriously as veteran actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Reportedly Katrina, who has signed on to Dhoom 3, managed to get Aditya Chopra to agree to her terms that two of the former leading ladies (Esha Deol and Bipasha Basu) of the YRF franchise had no say in. Aditya seems to have given in to Kat’s terms, just like he did for Ash in Dhoom 2.

A source informed Mumbai Mirror that initially Aditya had categorically told Katrina that she would be required to wear a bikini in the film. In the past too, YRF had got Esha Deol and Bipasha Basu to don the two-piece swimwear for Dhoom and Dhoom 2 respectively. “Whether they did it willingly or reluctantly, nobody knows. But Katrina was extremely reluctant,” said the source.

The source explained that there was a lot of back and forth between Aditya and Kat before the decision was taken. The source added, “Aditya is very fond of Katrina and they are very good friends. He had other options, including a few foreign actresses, but Katrina towered above all those options. Katrina managed to convince Aditya that it was not necessary for her to wear a bikini in the film.”
