From endorsing beauty products to clothes brands, Kareena Kapoor has done it all. And now the actress has gone a step ahead and become the face of a real estate company. The Delhi- based brand has apparently paid her a whopping amount of Rs 10 crore.

A source close to the project says, “One of the biggest names in real estate had approached Kareena to be part of their group. They were keen to have her in their commercial. The hefty amount has already been paid.” Bebo has already signed the agreement and is all set to shoot the ad soon.” The source adds, “The brand is arranging an elaborate shoot in Bhopal in the next few weeks They are going out of their way to ensure that everything takes place as per Kareena’s convenience.”

Last week we told you that the Agneepath team — Hrithik Roshan and director Karan Malhotra — is coming together for a film, titled Shuddhi. Now we can confirm that Kareena Kapoor has been signed to play the leading lady for this film. This is big news for two reasons. First, this pair will be reunited on screen together after nine years. And secondly they’ve finally called truce. The duo who were dating during the making of their last film had a fallout and never came together again, despite many filmmakers trying to cast them together. Hrithik was not willing to upset his wife by romancing with Bebo onscreen and it was all too fresh in the Kapoor girl’s mind to get together with the actor onscreen. But time heals all wounds and now they have both decided to put their past behind them. It is natural that they come together for common friend Karan Johar, who was able to convince them to do this film together. Apparently, Katrina Kaif and Deepika Padukone were in the race for the role but Kareena beat them to it as she was the director’s first choice. Malhotra felt that only Kareena could play such a challenging role. Now let’s just wait for the production house to make a big announcement.

Kareena Kapoor will be performing intimate scenes with Ajay Devgn in Prakash Jha’s Satyagraha. The actress apparently has given a green signal to enact the scenes.

Says a source, “Kareena has no reservations about doing such scenes. She is a thorough professional and a director’s actress. She is ready to do what the script requires if it’s an integral part of the movie.” The scenes will be shot in Bhopal next month Adds the source, “The details of the scenes have been worked out and both the actors are comfortable about it. We also make sure that it will be shot aesthetically so there should not be any issue.” Jha remained unavailable for comment.

Katrina Kaif and Kareena Kapoor always ran neck-and-neck for the number one position. Both vied for the same roles, same endorsements, wooed the same actors onscreen, and were on the wishlist of the same producers. Kareena always had an edge over her rival because along with being a pretty face, she has some solid performances behind her. (Chameli, Omkara). Katrina, who has always relied on her looks, more than made-up for the lack of talent with her hard work. The ‘lucky’ tag helped. Most heroes consider Kat lucky because she has had more ‘hits’ at the box-office than misses.

Until the beginning of last year, Bebo had a clear advantage because she had worked with SRK and Aamir Khan. But then Katrina landed Jab Tak Hain Jaan with Shah Rukh Khan and then came the announcement of her signing Dhoom 3 with Aamir. The field was leveled. Later in the year, Kareena tied the knot with Saif Ali Khan and there was a definite shift in Kat’s favour. Producers worry when an actress of a certain age gets married then comes the pressure to start a family. Esha Gupta to do item number in Gori Tere Pyar Mein

Item numbers are in vogue and Esha Gupta is the latest B-Town actress to join the list of item girls. The Jannat 2 actress will be performing an item song in Punit Malhotra’s Gori Tere Pyar Mein which is produced by Karan Johar and stars Imran Khan and Kareena Kapoor.

Incidentally, Esha was roped in at the last minute and flew to Bangalore to shoot the song. “Punit had initially decided not to cast any actress for the song but at the nth hour, he changed his mind and decided to cast Esha as she was the first choice. It was sweet on Esha’s part to make herself available on such a short notice and film the song-dance sequences,” says a source from the unit.

Punit adds, “We wanted to shoot the entire song on Imran. However when things got going, choregrapher Remo D’Souza and I decided that since the song is so good we should have someone in the song.

The girl’s part was really nice and so we called Karan and spoke to him and then started chasing Esha and thankfully for us the dates fell is place. Manish Malhotra also came in and styled her. It is basically a club song where Imran is clubbing and Esha fits the bill perfectly.”

Sharmila Tagore is putting together a grand plan to celebrate the two abiding passions of the Pataudis – cinema and sport. Mirror has learnt that she is hosting a film festival in London, and a polo tournament as a highlight of the event. This initiative will be played out in Delhi as well as part of the 2nd Seven Islands International Film Festival, which the Pataudis are patronising.

Said Sharmila Tagore, “The Pataudi Cup (the family Polo tournament organised in Bhopal every year) had to be cancelled this year because some of the horses fell sick. However, we (the Pataudi family) have decided to be the chief patrons of the polo matches that will be played as an inaugural event of the film festival that’s coming up.“ Tagore has been named chief patron by the organisers. She says Polo was introduced to the film festival since the late Tiger Pataudi was an avid fan of the sport of the royals.

We hear the Pataudi family – Saif, Soha, Saba and Kareena – will lend their support to the film festival that was launched last year at Cannes. The first edition was held in Chennai last year with the theme – Women Rising, Against All Odds. The polo match will take place on March 9 in New Delhi which will mark the opening of the festival. When Saif Ali Khan reached Bhopal to visit his wife, Kareena Kapoor personally went to the airport to pick him up

When Saif Ali Khan dropped by at Bhopal to check on his begum, he was mighty surprised to see none other than Kareena Kapoor at the airport. Bebo has been shooting at Bhopal for Prakash Jha’s Satyagraha and has been away from home for a while.

Sources say the actress had decided to surprise her hubby by coming to pick him up at the airport.

Saif reached Bhopal on a Sunday and Kareena had the day off. No surprises that the couple spent most of the day inside Bebo’s room.

A source from the hotel where Bebo is currently staying states, “She had also decided on the menu for the meal they were to enjoy at the hotel. They had dinner together. The actress was glowing when she went to pick the Nawab up.”

On his return journey too, Kareena personally saw Saif off at the Bhopal airport.

The source adds, “The begum knows Saif’s tastes very well. After all, the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach!” According to sources, Saif feasted on kathi roll, seekh kebab, mutton biryani and diet cola while Kareena enjoyed an assortment of cheese chilly toast, brown rice, yellow dal, and bhindi.

Even though technically, Kareena Kapoor’s first film after her shaadi was Talaash, the first film she began shooting for after her wedding is Satyagraha directed by Prakash Jha. It may be just a coincidence but Kareena in her first film after marriage won’t be shown indulging in PDA with her co-star.

In Satyagraha she plays a fiercely career-oriented idealistic investigative journalist in the film and while her character is shown to be in a long-standing relationship with the political activist played by Ajay Devgn, there will be no intimate scenes between them. Says a source, “There is none of the conventional filmi romance between them either. Kareena and Ajay play a mature couple who don’t demonstrate their mutual love to one another or to the world at large. In any case Prakash Jha’s films are never high on love scenes. He likes to keep the intimacy implicit rather than demonstrative, so there are no intimate scenes between them at all.”

Says director Prakash, “I can’t tell you too much about the relationship. But yes, it’s a very mature relationship based on trust and a deep understanding of one another.”

For the first time in her entire career Kareena Kapoor has shot crowd scenes. Prakash Jha, known to capture his actors at mammoth public rallies (remember Katrina Kaif’s public speech in Raajneeti), made it known to Kareena at the beginning of Satyagraha shooting that there would be sequences involving crowds of 300-400 junior artistes and locals. It is common kntowledge that most actresses are not comfortable doing crowd scenes, given the mob mentality. Some actresses ask for a double to do the scene instead, but Bebo willingly did her bit, without any hesitation.

To her credit Kareena, who plays an investigative journalist in Jha’s film, was game for the novel experience of mingling with the mob, from the start. Says a source from Bhopal, “Kareena was neither intimidated by the Big B with whom she faced the camera with utmost fluency, nor did she get daunted when she had to mingle with huge crowds,something she had never done before in her career. Madhya Pradesh is a sasural for both Amitabh and Kareena and the people of Bhopal treat them accordingly with utmost respect.”

When Big B washed little Kareena’s feet

Amitabh Bachchan, who is currently shooting for Prakash Jha’s Satyagraha, has been avidly writing about the shoot of the film on his blog.

In one such post, he remembers Kareena Kapoor, who plays a journalist in the film, as a small little girl whose feet he washed on the sets of his film Pukar that also starred Kareena’s dad Randhir Kapoor.

“During an action sequence, I was hitting her father. She in her innocence had run on to the set in the outdoors and clung to her father to protect him from this ‘evil’ man who was beating him up. In tears and most worried, she was relentless and very disturbed,” wrote Big B.

“She soiled her pretty little feet in the sand and in order to settle her down I had asked for some water and washed her tiny feet clean. She still remembers that moment!”

Satyagraha is slated to release in August this year. The film also stars Ajay Devgn, Arjun Rampal and Manoj Bajpayi.
