Obviously the paramount question is that whether the SRK-Kajol chemistry works magic again. Yes, it does…Big Time. It seems the duo are meant to fall in love and transmit that love-electricity on celluloid to millions of people across the world.
MNIK promo successfully opens a window to what the basic story is, whips up an engaging drama and leaves you panting for more. Rizwan’s (Shahrukh) disability is blanketed by Mandira’s (Kajol) overwhelmingly deep affection. How 9/11 changes lives forever and for some strange innocent reason Rizwan wants to meet up with the President Of America. There’s a strong resistance and guns blaze on the roads of suspicion.
There are two significant lines that stay with you when the promo is over. First one is: He believed that if you do good deeds…good things will happen to you. And the second is: We are stronger than our fears. It seems that the Writing will be the strong point of ‘My Name Is Khan‘ and undoubtedly Karan Johar is treading a territory that in all probability will enrich the Indian film industry.

Eight years after Shah Rukh Khan, Karan Johar and Kajol came together for one of the biggest Bollywood blockbusters of all time — Kabhie Khushi Kabhi Gham, the charismatic trio are presenting the trailer of their February 12, 2010 release, Fox Star Studios’ My Name Is Khan, tonight. Yes, look out for it, Star TV Network will beam the first look of the first production by SRK and KJo together at 10 pm across 70 countries worldwide. So wherever you are, you can catch the promo for sure. Says Karan, “This is the first time ever in the history of Bollywood that the promos of a film will play across such a wide platform. Karan Johar worked for 48 hours to perfect My Name is Khan

The first look of his much-awaited film My Name is Khan all set to hit the theatres on December 18 with the Hollywood blockbuster Avatar. As a result, Karan is having sleepless nights just to make sure that the first look creates the right buzz about the film.
Karan did not sleep starting Saturday morning to Monday morning as he was busy finalising the first look of My Name is Khan.
(L): Karan Johar, My Name is KhanA source said, “My Name is Khan, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol, is one of Karan’s most ambitious film to date more so because it is a subject that he has never attempted to make so far. He also cancelled his trip to LA to finalise the film’s first look over the weekend. He reached office early on Saturday morning to start working on the edit and didn’t stop till Monday morning 7am. He must have barely taken an hour-long nap in those two days. SRK too joined him on Saturday night and they had a meeting about how they plan to go about promoting the film. SRK saw some portions of the first theatrical promo and then left the Dharma Productions office early on Sunday morning. However, Karan continued to work and only left on Monday morning after he was satisfied with the first look.”

The premiere of the Bachchans’ home production Paa was a glittering affair with the who’s who of Bollywood attending the event last night
By Kunal M Shah (MUMBAI MIRROR; December 04, 2009)The preparations for the grand premiere of Paa last night had started much earlier with Amitabh Bachchan visiting the venue at Wadala Imax at 1 pm yesterday to check out all the arrangements. Though the main event was scheduled to begin at 8.30 pm, a casually dressed Amitabh arrived at the venue much earlier at 6 pm and the first thing he did was to double check the arrangements.
He changed into natty formals shortly before the guests started arriving.
The Bachchans had divided their responsibilities to ensure that their guests are well-looked after. While Amitabh, Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai were standing at the entrance, Jaya Bachchan was looking after all the guests near the screens on the first floor.

Priyanka Chopra and Kareena Kapoor fight over a make-up man

Sticking by the unwritten rule in Bollywood about actresses being on unfriendly terms with one another are Bollywood’s top actresses, Kareena Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra. That Priyanka befriended Shahid Kapoor post Kareena broke up with him does not help in anyway. Currently, the two are fighting over a man named Pompy.
Pompy is Bollywood’s much coveted make-up artiste and Kareena and Priyanka both want him to glam up their looks. Having worked with Pompy on various films and commercials, the girls are addicted to him. The first thing they do after signing a film is to make sure Pompy’s schedule matches theirs.
A source from the industry revealed, “Earlier in the month, when Priyanka learnt that she had to go to Bangkok for the Anjaana Anjaani shoot with Ranbir Kapoor, her secretary tried his best to get dates from Pompy, but they did not match. The make-up magician was committed to accompany Kareena to Sydney, Australia, where she was to shoot with Kajol and Arjun Rampal for the Bollywood remake of Stepmom.”

Post 9/11, there’s anger, distrust, suspicion, uneasiness all around. Not a day passes when you don’t hear of terrorists killing civilians in the name of religion.
Many storytellers have, in the past, narrated stories about terrorists and their nefarious and despicable plans. But let me state one thing categorically. You haven’t watched a more profound, a more thought-provoking, a more dramatic story on this subject before KURBAAN. It’s not just the most powerful film to come out of Dharma Productions, it’s the most powerful film to come out of the Hindi film industry this year, thus far.
BY BOLLYWOOD HUNGAMA.COMKURBAAN tries to penetrate into the psyche of not just the terrorist, but also someone who has been a helpless spectator all this while. This film is sure to spark off discussions and debates, although it must also be noted that it doesn’t take sides or gets preachy.
Rensil D’Silva has chosen a burning issue for his directorial debut, which is a complete departure from Karan Johar’s earlier films. For some inexplicable reasons, parallels are being drawn with FANAA [Aamir Khan, Kajol] and NEW YORK [John Abraham, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Katrina Kaif], but the fact remains that barring the backdrop of terrorism, there’s no similarity with those films.
