Ranbir injures Priyanka
Aug 9th
A bit too involved in enacting a running sequence for Anjaana Anjaani, Ranbir didn’t notice that Priyanka had fallen and hurt her head and leg very badly
Ranbir Kapoor is living up to the title of his next film Anjaana Anjaani, but in an odd way. Clueless, that while shooting he was running hand in hand with Priyanka Chopra, who had long tripped, fallen and hurt herself, Ranbir continued acting.
Only later did he realise that Priyanka, who had stopped running with him a while ago, was actually lying mid-way on the ground with a bleeding leg and an angry look on her face, we presume.
Obviously, Ranbir was caught up, either with acting or something we’re not aware of. Otherwise, such things are unheard of in the industry. Sure enough, the actor was seen apologising profusely to Priyanka later.
Our source from the unit says, “Ranbir and Priyanka were shooting for a scene where they were trying to get away from a situation. Priyanka was wearing high heels and running. Ranbir got involved in the scene and with increased speed, started pulling her, when she suddenly tripped and fell.
On turning around later, he saw that Priyanka had fallen down and her leg was bleeding. He obviously went out of his way to make her feel comfortable after that.”
Director Siddharth Anand too was witness to this incident and in his version there is an added staircase. He says, “They were running holding hands and there was a corridor and steps. Ranbir jumped from the corridor without realising that Priyanka had missed the steps and fallen down.
Her head hit on the duct of the wall and she was badly injured. When Ranbir went up to her Priyanka got up and said she was fine. But we asked her to rest. Thankfully, some medicos on the sets attended to her in time.”
Siddharth is far from playing the blame game and says, “Ranbir was very apologetic about the whole thing. Accidents happen on the sets all the time. We just re-shot the scene.” Hopefully, Ranbir wasn’t too busy looking at Priyanka this time.
Shazahn injured
May 24th
Alyque Padamsee and Sharon Prabhakar’s daughter, Shazahn, who made her Bollywood debut in Shimit Amin’s Rocket Singh, had an accident at Marine Drive yesterday.
The incident in question happened around 6 pm when Shazahn was enacting a scene with Ram Charan for a commercial. Shazahn says, “Ram Charan and I were sitting on the wave breakers for the shoot. Everything was fine till almost the end of the shoot. Just when I was getting up, a huge wave suddenly hit us and I lost my balance. I fell on the rocks.”
The director of the commercial, Bhaskar (who directed the Genelia D’Souza Tamil super hit Bommarilu), organised medical aid before the young actress was taken to her car.
She has been advised rest for a couple of days. “I have hurt myself rather badly on my hands and knees.
I am shaken up as I almost fell into the sea,” adds Shazahn.
DMG makers planning to pause the SRK injury scene?
Jan 6th
Amitabh Bachchan had a near-fatal accident while shooting for Manmohan Desai’s Coolie which released in 1983. The director paused the scene which then made headlines to pay a tribute to Amitabh. 25 years later, in another accident on the sets of Muddasar Aziz’s directorial debut Dulha Mil Gaya, Shah Rukh Khan badly injured his shoulder due to which he had to undergo a major surgery.
The makers of Dulha Mil Gaya have paused the exact scene in which SRK was injured.

Our source tells us, “It was an afterthought. When the film was being edited, they realised that they should do something like this. The scene is in the second half of the film and like in Coolie, here also the scene will be paused so that the viewers know when the accident happened. The makers do not wish to reveal it as they do not want to aggravate SRK.”
Producer Viveck Vaswani clarified, “SRK was injured during the shooting of our film but we are not planning to do anything special to mark the scene. It would look like cashing in on the sequence. SRK got hurt but he did not tell anyone about it during the shoot.
He finished his work with dignity and quietly left. When I came to know about it the next day, I sent him a text. He said it’s all right as it was not my fault and he would be doing these stunts for the next 20 years.”

Even the director of the film Muddasar Aziz, denied the news saying, “There is no such gimmick planned.”
Injured Madhavan shot for 3 Idiots
Dec 2nd
While Sharman Joshi didn’t have to work that hard on looking like a 22-year-old in Raj Kumar Hirani’s 3 Idiots, Aamir Khan and Madhavan, one above 40 and the other in his late 30s, had to work really hard to look like young IIT students.
Things were bound to be slightly more difficult for Madhavan as he had to first fight one of his most niggling health concern- his weight, especially on his face. But, following Aamir’s footsteps made things easier for Madhavan. As Aamir had decided to play bandminton to stay youthful and fit, Madhavan decided to follow suit to keep his weight in check.
Madhavan says, “The fact that we shot at the Bangalore IIT really helped. Once we went into an actual institute, Aamir, Sharman and I immediately began to feel like students. Age was never an issue because I got the role after an audition. Once I fit in, no one was looking at my passport to check my age. As for the rest, including the physicality, once we got into the IIT everything else followed. Incidentally, I’ve studied in an institution similar to the IIT. I know that life.”
Most worried about his chubby face, Madhavan says, “I tend to put on weight on my face. I had to take care of that.”
Once, while playing with Prakash Padukone, Madhavan badly injured his knee and he feared that his chances of doing the pivotal role in an important film like 3 Idiots was ruined.
Maddy says, “I tore a ligament in my knee and couldn’t walk. My first thought was, ‘Oh my God! Will I be able to continue shooting?’ Luckily for me, my director Raj Kumar Hirani and Aamir were extremely supportive. I don’t think I could’ve gone through the film without them, not with that knee of mine.”
On Aamir’s suggestion, Hirani especially wrote Madhavan’s role in a way that required him to wear a knee-protection-cum-bandage in the film.
Madhavan adds, “All three of us have two different looks in the film, one in college and one after our college days. You’ll see me wearing that knee protection-bandage all through my college scenes. It’s there because I actually got hurt. The hurt was introduced in the script to justify me wearing the bandage.”
