The actress, who was supposed to be a part of her film’s wrap-up party, had to cut short the celebration after her father fell ill again

After a favourable response to the first promo launch of Barfi! on Monday, the makers – director Anurag Basu and producer UTV Motion Pictures’ Siddharth Roy Kapur, chose to finally celebrate the film’s wrap up at a night club in Bandra. However, on reaching the venue, the team realised that leading lady Priyanka Chopra had gone missing. Phone calls to the actress revealed she had dashed off to be by her father’s side after learning that his health had suddenly deteriorated.

A friend of the actress told Mirror, “Priyanka was very happy after the promo launch. She was looking forward to partying with her team members and costars Ranbir Kapoor and Ileana D’Cruz. However, on her way out from the venue, she got a call. Her father was very unwell. She left for home immediately.”

PeeCee, who always puts her family first and had recently taken them along to Singapore during the IIFA Awards 2012, chose to skip the Barfi! bash to be by her daddy’s side. “She had to leave for Dubai the next day. She had to make sure her father was fine before that,” said the friend.

An injury could have been the reason why Bipasha Basu spotted in a rather foul mood during the rehearsals for a recent awards show

Stars and their tantrums! Recently, the usually bubbly Bipasha Basu decided to act pricey at the IIFA Awards 2012 in Singapore, and apparently even threatened to walk out of the event. Buzz is that her alleged bad mood could have been because of an injury she had sustained.

Apparently, Bips didn’t agree to the practice slot that was allotted to her, nor was she comfortable with her fellow dancers. Our source says, “She was allotted a 9 pm slot, which she refused.

She was even heard complaining to her industry colleagues about how the members of her dance troupe were not even up to the mark.” In fact, onlookers at the event tell us that Bipasha was in a very bad mood during her rehearsals and even looked pretty angry.

Sources indicate that her shoulder injury could have been the cause of her foul mood. The source adds, “She was in a lot of pain. She couldn’t even raise her hands properly. Later, Rishi Kapoor visited her during her practice sessions.”

Shahid Kapoor made sure that Anil Kapoor’s absence at the IIFA Awards in Singapore didn’t go unnoticed

Despite a long association with the IIFA awards event and even after promoting it just a couple of months ago along with Bipasha Basu, for some reason, Anil Kapoor was nowhere to be seen in Singapore. However, Shahid Kapoor wasn’t in a hurry to let us forget it.

He kept pointing at a chair with Anil’s name pasted on it and taking potshots calling him Mr India during his Vicky Donor spoof. The digs at Anil then continued through the evening. In fact Anil’s brother Boney Kapoor and sister-in-law Sridevi who were sitting just in the adjacent chairs looked discernibly awkward while the audience wondered why Sasha was at it.

Perhaps Shahid thought it was payback time for Mausam. If you jog your memory, you will recall that Anil’s daughter Sonam Kapoor had starred in Mausam with Sasha in his dad Pankaj Kapoor’s directorial debut. Buzz was that Sonam had acted difficult during the shoot of the film and led to a delay in the project which faced several obstacles.

Everyone was left wondering why Shahid was going overboard with the barrage of missives aimed at Anil. Anil who is shooting in Turkey for Abbas-Mustan’s film Race 2 remained unavailable for comment.
