Ranbir never auditioned for Mira Nair?

Despite widespread gossip that he went through a two-hour audition for Mira Nair’s film The Reluctant Fundamentalist, BT has learned that Ranbir Kapoor did not even show the inclination to work with the acclaimed director of such films as Monsoon Wedding and The Namesake. And this, perhaps, is because the Bollywood youth icon did not quite like the script of her film that has been adapted from the cult 2007 novel by Mohsin Hamid about the tragic fall of a Pakistani youth because of love.
Ranbir is reported to have rejected the script immediately. And he did not even meet Mira because he simply wasn’t interested in doing The Reluctant Fundamentalist. She had contacted his manager asking if Ranbir was free to do the film, and if he was interested — she would like to discuss the project with him. But the actor, who has his hands full, did not even have dates to spare as Mira wanted him for three months from March. He simply bowed out of the project.
Ranbir is now wondering where the reports that he auditioned for Mira are coming from. And that Mira was deeply affected by his moving, emotional audition! The filmmaker, meanwhile, now plans to cast an NRI Pakistani for the lead and shooting for the film will begin in Delhi. Ranbir remained unavailable for comment.
Akshay slams David Dhawan for dissing Tees Maar Khan?

Anil Kapoor will not forget his birthday party for many years to come.
While there was a hiccup with Salman Khan and a fan getting slapped below his residence, inside there was an occasion to celebrate with Javed Akhtar and Salim Khan bonding warmly after ages.
However the after-affects of the party are still being felt. Apparently David Dhawan made some uncharitable comments about Akshay Kumar’s recently released film Tees Maar Khan and Akshay got wind of the news. But a livid phone call by Akshay did make David apologise.
Our source tells us, “David Dhawan entered the party with his two thumbs down saying ‘Tees Maar Khan pit gayee’. He announced that the reports of the film were not encouraging and that it was a bad film.
The film, which was to be released the next day, was said to be one of the hottest films of this year and the news that the film is not up to the mark has already spread since there were many trials of the film.
However one of the guests at the party told him that he should not say these things considering that Akshay Kumar is also the lead actor of his son Rohit’s film, Desi Boys.

Off late there have been numerous speculations, rumours, gossips and hearsay circulating around the making of the newest Sajid Nadiadwala production which is an adaptation of Chetan Bhagat’s popular book 2 States.
The film was announced shortly after the release of Nadiadwala’s last production Anjaana Anjaani and though there was an official statement made in this regard, tongues have continued to wag around it’s director, star cast, timeline and other logistics. While Siddharth Anand is supposed to direct the 2 States adaptation, there have been constant murmurs around Saif Ali Khan walking in and out of project as well as the choice of heroine being either Priyanka Chopra or Deepika Padukone. Also, the film by itself has been a bone of contention as apparently the screenplay hasn’t been finalised yet, hence leading to further doubts around whether it would come on floors in near future.
“I am most definitely making 2 States. I have bought the rights so eventually I would be making the film,” says producer Sajid Nadiadwala.

Mumbai: Activists of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) are at it again and this time, their demand was that more Marathi films should be screened at the theatres.
MNS members stormed into several movie halls in the city and in Thane on Saturday, throwing stones and tearing down movie posters. Even as screenings were disrupted at theatres in Kandivli, Dadar and Thane, viewers did not seem to support the cause.“I don’t know why people who have paid to watch a film should be inconvenienced,’’ said a visitor to a Kandivli (E) theatre.“If more and more people go to watch Marathi films at theatres, the number of screenings will automatically go up. Hall owners want to make profits.If they are screening more Hindi and English films than Marathi movies, then it means that there is more demand for Hindi and English films than those in Marathi.’’
Logic and reason, however, fell casualties as MNS workers took to strong-arm tactics. The Shivaji Park police had to rush to Nakshatra Mall in Dadar where the box office were pelted with stones. “We got a call from the theatre management, saying a group of men had thrown stones at the box office. This might be a fun way for Punit and Imran to share secrets and talk about personal stuff that too in front of everyone, but it cause for amusement and at times even annoyance for the cast and crew of the film.
A source from the unit reveals, “Imran and Punit get along like a house on fire. They know each other since many years and working on the same film has only bought them closer. They both have been born and brought up in Bandra and strangely have their own code language which they always converse in. This language is only known and understood by them. It has been termed as the IP (Imran-Punit) language by the crew.
At times it is quite amusing to hear them talking in their code language because of all the weird words and noises. For an onlooker, it is as good as hearing Greek or German. At times it also gets annoying because no one understands what they are telling each other and more importantly about whom.

Shahid on the controversial smooch with Genelia

Shahid Kapoor is controversy’s favourite child. The latest is, the actor forced his CHANCE PE DANCE director Ken Ghosh to delete the passionate smooch from the film. Reportedly, Shahid felt that it wouldn’t be good for his image when he saw the final cut of the film.
“I’ve stopped reacting to gossip,” Shahid tells me. So what’s the truth? “The truth is, there’s no smooch in the film. It was never conceptualised, hence it was not filmed. It just doesn’t exist. As simple as that,” Shahid clarifies.
Meanwhile, Shahid has decided against signing any film for the time being. “I am channelizing all my energies on my father’s [Pankaj Kapoor] directorial debut. We plan to begin shooting in March. That’s the only film I have on hand right now,” he says.
Reportedly, the film is inspired from the Tom Cruise starrer TOP GUN. “Well, the only similarity is that I play a naval officer in the film. In the past, Rajesh Khanna and Shah Rukh Khan too had played naval officers, but that doesn’t mean they were inspired by TOP GUN. Dad’s making a love story, which makes it entirely different from that film,” Shahid states.
