R MadhavanA source says, “It all basically started after the promos of his upcoming movie Tanu weds Manu. He plays an eligible NRI bachelor in the movie.”

SRK to play European kingpin in Don 2
0By Subhash K. Jha, January 18, 2011 – 14:56 IST
It’s not just with his home production Ra.One that Shah Rukh Khan is looking towards capturing the international market in 2011. With Farhan Akhtar’s Don 2 too, Shah Rukh goes gloriously global.
And Shah Rukh will be taking on Tom Cruise, no less, with Don 2. The two action-oriented super-slick films on global crime and punishment release globally within a week of one another in December. Hush-hush plans are on to put together an international version of Farhan’s ferocious furious and flamboyant flick so that Shah Rukh’s Don 2 can come face to face with Tom Cruise’s Mission Impossible 4, which incidentally features Anil Kapoor in a cameo.
And to prove how global in execution Don 2 is, here’s the thing. A car chase sequence featuring Shah Rukh shot in Berlin last month was so steep and dangerous that it damaged one of the expensive cameras that had been recruited to capture the heart-in-the-mouth stunt. Luckily no one was hurt.
According to a source from the film the Don’s character in Don 2: The Chase Continues has gone international with his criminal ambitions. “While in the first part, Don wanted to take over the crime syndicate in India in Don 2, Don wants to capture the entire European market. Shah Rukh’s character is no longer an Indian crime lord wanted in 11 countries. He is portrayed as a European gangster, replete with all the trappings of an international kingpin.”

When Katrina hit Akshay hard
0Many feel Katrina Kaif is a delicate darling, but her Tees Maar Khan co-star Akshay Kumar doesn’t think so.
“We were shooting for the song ‘Bade dilwala’ and Katrina got so involved in her dance that she actually hit me hard with her elbow. The impact was such that the shooting had to be stalled for two hours,” Akshay told reporters here Wednesday.
The actor revealed this during the promotional tour of Tees Maar Khan in the capital. He was here with Katrina and director Farah Khan for the film that releases Friday.
Both the stars were greeted with much fanfare. They put their best foot forwad and wowed fans with an impromptu yet sizzling performance of the hit item number ‘Sheila ki jawani‘ from the romantic comedy.
“When we shoot for any song, there are often many cuts but I enjoy performing in front of live audiences because the response makes me feel good,” Akshay said after his performance.
These days, Katrina is often heard talking in Hindi and she happily obliged when her fans asked her to do so at the event.
Akshay and Katrina also fulfilled the demand of their younger fans by happily dancing with them to the tune of ‘Bade dilwala‘.

Family disowns actor for playing gay on screen

Prithwish Ganguly | TNN (BOMBAY TIMES; September 26, 2010)
The Delhi High Court’s judgement in favour of homosexuals last year hasn’t had much impact on the family of actor Yuvraaj Parasher, the lead of Dunno Y… Na Jaane Kyun that has India’s first gay kissing scene in it and also shows love-making and several intimate moments between two men. Yuvraaj, BT has learned, has been disowned by his family for playing a homosexual on screen and has been thrown out of his home in Agra. Worse, his father is ready to go to court and officially cut off ties with his son.
Seen as India’s answer to Ang Lee’s sensitive drama Brokeback Mountain that boasts of remarkable acting from Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal, Dunno Y … Na Jaane Kyun sees Yuvraaj partner with actor Kapil Sharma to breathe life into their bold characters. Yuvraaj’s father Satish Parasher told BT, “I feel what he has done is against the culture and tradition of our country and it challenges the purity of the relationship between a man and a woman. He kept us in the dark right from when he signed the film and told us that he is acting with a girl. When we heard about the poster and the things he has done in the film, we were shocked, hurt and humiliated. People will make fun of us and we won’t be able to live peacefully ever again.”
Satish believes Yuvraaj will never get a girl to marry him. “His mother is totally devastated,” said the aggrieved father. “We are a respected More >

Priyanka Chopra says her priorities are different
Meena Iyer | TNN (BOMBAY TIMES; July 14, 2010)
Priyanka Chopra has a birthday coming up on July 18. “Please don’t remind me of the fact that I’ll turn a year older. I’m a girl and it is my prerogative not to be asked my age,” says the superstar. Even though the actress has completed a decade in Bollywood, she has a hungry glint in her contact lenses.
She is in character for Vishal Bhardwaj’s Saat Khoon Maaf where she romances seven men ranging from the sublime Naseeruddin Shah to the beefy John Abraham. “Saat Khoon Maaf will be another career-defining film. And believe me, I feel I have worked the hardest on this one. Fashion got me the National Award, Kaminey got me notices, and I’m hoping SKM will get me both awards and accolades.’’
She admits that at 28 (oops that just slipped out!) she’s hungry for meatier roles. “I wish the year had 500 days. I could have accommodated four films more. Believe me, there are six offers on hold at this point.’’
But PC says she’s happy. “I’m in my 20s and I’ve done some terrific work. I just love being single. I’m not the kind who goes out looking for love. Being unattached has its perks. What’s the hurry? I’m not in my 30s and I don’t have to worry about who I’m going to get hitched with. Perhaps five years from now, I may consider being an aiyyaash (spoilt) wife indulging in diamonds and debauchery… but right now I like chilling.’’

Movie Review: I HATE LUV STORYS by FENIL SETA
0LOVE! The four-letter word as well as the feeling that everyone must experience! A strange phenomenon where even the most realistically thinking person throws away his practical thought out of the window and starts living in a dreamy world. Expectations reach skyhigh. And in some unfortunate cases, when all the dreams get shattered, the person in love feels like a fool. Normally, in Bollywood, heroes are shown falling for that cute girl and suffering a terrible heartbreak and its repercussions when the girl dumps them for some reason or the other. In case of I Hate Luv Storys, the girl falls for the guy inspite of knowing that he makes fun of love and hates ‘love stories’ and she also experiences that elusive one-sided love feeling (normally reserved for heroes in our cinema) for a part of the film. And this is one of a rare factor of this otherwise predictable film! I Hate Luv Storys may not be that perfect and classic romantic flick but it has its moments and is definitely the perfect treat for the weekend!
The story of the movie: Jay (Imran Khan) is an assistant director and is working under Veer Kapoor (Samir Soni), a very popular Bollywood director, knowing for making hopelessly romantic films. Strangely, Jay hates love and lovey-dovey films. He believes that those who are in love are in need of help as love is sickness! On the other hand, Simran (Sonam Kapoor) is a sucker for love stories and a die-hard romantic. She has a wonderful fiance Raj More >
I m cool being a sex symbol-Imran Khan
0Imran Khan is Bollywood’s new ‘it’ boy
Meena Iyer | TNN (BOMBAY TIMES; June 28, 2010)
Punit Malhotra’s I Hate Luv Storys is carrying the right vibe. Trade pundits are of the opinion that Dharma Productions romcom set to hit theatres on July 2, is near perfect. It’s priced correctly, it’s a love story coming from Karan Johar — the man who knows romance better than most filmmakers, and it has Imran Khan — the actor with the ‘it’ factor going for him.
Imran, who stormed the film scene two Julys ago with Aamir Khan’s sweet mushy flick Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na, is the quintessential chocolate boy who with his fair skin and light eyes makes the girls go weak in the knees. Take what happened at a bookstore in a mall. The girls who strolled in and caught Imran in their midst screamed the mall down. They were so excited, they almost tore the actor’s shirt off in their attempt to get closer to him.
Imran is flattered with this attention he has been from the trade and the janta. The actor who has a fabulous sense of humour, says, “It is always flattering for an actor to feel wanted, but for a few minutes I wondered if all this squealing and shouting was stage-managed by the PR of the film. We’re in the business of selling ourselves, and being labelled sexy and being spoken of as having that ‘it’ quality is the ultimate goal. When I see people reacting to my body, I feel it was worth all the hard work I put in. I remember all those bland meals More >
