The singer has just released his pop album

Looks like there is hope for the Indian pop music industry and solo artistes. Choreographer-turned-singer Ganesh Hegde’s latest music album, Let’s Party, has been in the news for its music, choreography, styling and performances. Ganesh, whose endeavour is to revive Indian pop, has pulled off a coup of sorts by having Katrina Kaif and Hrithik Roshan dance with him in the title track, Let’s Party.

“Fan support will help in making pop music and pop singers survive. Pop cannot make money, but its demand will keep the art alive,” enthuses Ganesh. “Pop music is dying in India, only playback singing and Bollywood sells. In the West, they have Justin Timberlake, Shakira, Beyoncé and Lady Gaga. Here, we have so much talent but nobody wants to promote it. I want people to realise that pop is also as big as Bollywood and perhaps better in terms of videos and dance,” he states.

Ganesh’s album also features Priyanka Chopra and Bipasha Basu, who are seen in the video Mindblowing Girls, which went on air last week. Shah Rukh Khan, who recently grooved to the choreographer’s steps on Chhamak Chhallo in RA.One, says, “Ganesh has done 99 per cent of my live shows. He is tireless, relentless and a true artiste who can both sing and dance. At a time when people are not launching popular music albums, if Ganesh becomes successful with Let’s Party, I will be very happy.”
