Akki look-alike in Patiala House
0An actor who bears an uncanny resemblance with Akshay Kumar has acted with him in Patiala House. Many are mistaking him to be Akki’s son
Sonal Chawla (MUMBAI MIRROR; February 07, 2011)
They say imitation is the best form of flattery but a young Akshay Kumar look-alike hadn’t signed up for the kind of praise he got recently.
The actor, Usman Qureshi, plays a pivotal role with Akshay in Patiala House.
Unfortunately, the resemblance has also landed him in trouble of sorts. Some people have started mistaking him to be Akshay Kumar. Others think he is Akki’s son and start clicking his pictures.
Recently Akshay, Anushka Sharma and Usman along with the other cast members of the film flew to Faridabad for the film’s promotion.
And at a mall, Usman ended up gathering a huge crowd, because many mistook him to be Akshay’s son.
People started clicking Usman’s pictures and bombarding him with autograph requests. This 17-year-old boy happens to play young Akshay Kumar in the film.
A source said, “Akshay was initially stunned when he saw Usman for the first time on the sets of the film. Not only does Usman look like Akki but he also walks and talks like him.”
According to the source, Usman is from Denmark and he had mailed his pictures to the director Nikhil Advani, called him for a screen test immediately. No prizes for guessing why. This is Usman’s first film.
When questioned, Usman said, “My family always told me that I resembled Akshay sir but I never More >

The Bollywood sex kitten is now a married Kenyan hotelier
Meena Iyer | TNN (BOMBAY TIMES; January 18, 2011)
Remember Kim Sharma? The model and Bollywood hottie known more for her fascination with cricket (read that as Yuvraaj Singh) than her last roles in films like Money Hai Toh Honey Hai and Daddy Cool? Sure you do! Well, she’s back from Kenya. But not to do films. Kim’s here to get Bollywood interested in her two hotels with husband Ali Punjani — one at Mombasa and the other at Masai Mara. Ali is the Kenyan businessman Kim eloped with and got married to on August 1, last year. Now she flashes a 13 carat diamond ring on her wedding finger! And, equally big solitaires in her ears. This is one Bollywood story that appears to have had a happy ending.
The buzz is that Kim, who has been staying in a five star hotel for a fortnight with her silver-haired mother, is here to invest in an IPL team. The former starlet rubbishes this rumour. “With my history on cricket, anything I say will be misconstrued,” she said, adding, “I’m here to do research for my hotels.” Reluctant to discuss her business interests “because Ali shuns publicity”, the sex kitten admitted that she travels frequently for her “Mumbai fix”. (The hotel staff claimed she comes to get her eyebrows and waxing done!) But this time around Kim is here to celebrate her 30th birthday (January 21) with her parents and sister. Ali is expected to fly down for the celebrations, More >
Sonam’s various awesome looks in Aisha
0Sonam Kapoor is looking her chicest in Aisha. We deconstruct her look in the forthcoming film
MUMBAI MIRROR; June 19, 2010
The film: Aisha. The look: “Young, stylish upper class Delhi girl who is not a fashion victim,” says Pernia Qureshi, the stylist. “Someone who just wakes up beautiful,” she says. And that someone is Sonam Kapoor who gets our vote as the most stylish girl in the business of acting.
Whether on screen or on the red carpet, Sonam always manages to make heads turn with her delicious mix of classic and young, hip and haute. “I know my body. I know what my problem areas are, I know what to hide, what to reveal,” says Sonam.
As a girl who takes her fashion seriously, Sonam likes to believe she has pretty defined personal style. “I like all things classic and chic, especially off screen where I like a dash of fun, a twist to anything I am wearing,” she says. “I love old clothes, which I can mix with high street or dress up something muted with interesting accessories.” And while she thinks “no one understands Indian women better than Manish Malhotra”, she also swears by her Chanels, and her Alexander Wangs.
“It is not just about wearing brands, it is about how you put the look together,” says Sonam.
With a little help of our style icon of the season, we deconstruct Sonam’s look in the film.
