Funnyman Vir Das gets ready record his comedy rock album live

Debarati Sen (BOMBAY TIMES; April 5, 2011) Stand-up comedian, actor, musician, singer, Vir Das, is nervous. And it is understandable – he and his comedy rock band Alien Chutney will soon be recording their album, live. He states, “Its nerve racking because I’m not locked in a private studio with engineers and auto tuners like, Enrique (although I would happily trade places given his social life). Comedy is a live art and the only way to record a comedy rock album is to do it live. The audience and their laughter is just as much a part of the album sound as our music. No retakes, no room for error. It’s kind of like doing stand up for the first time for me.”

Fantastic music along with insane lyrics is what the band is all about. They have a ballad about seducing your sabzi walli, a rock song about Delhi girls vs Mumbai girls, a hard blues number about Haryanvi men, a tribute to Bollywood, a love song for Parsis, a serial killer metal song, a pop song, a rap number even a sufi track.

Vir says, “The advantage to being immature and stupid is that it transcends all musical genres…everyone can be made fun off. I think if one is able to pull this off, you will see comedy live recordings really grow as a facet of the industry.”

Sunidhi’s video is morphed!

Director Rahul Sud, who’s heading the Indian team that worked on Heartbeat, says that the video is a morphing job.

Says Sud, “The Enrique portions of the video were shot in LA. The original video had Enrique and Nicole Scherzinger. We replaced Nicole with Sunidhi. It’s all part of VFX now and you’ll be surprised. If anyone can pinpoint portions where Sunidhi has not shot with Enrique once the video releases, I will change my name. It’s a very difficult job to replace somebody.”

He adds, “This is the first time such a thing is being done anywhere. I feel Sunidhi looks even better than Nicole in the video. There is one portion where Sunidhi is almost about to kiss Enrique. Getting that right is a huge experiment for us. I have spoken to Enrique, and he wanted to know how this would be done. The video will soon be completed and sent to him. Once we get his nod, we will be releasing it.”

Aditya Narayan and Shweta Agrawal take their relationship problems to the street

Aditya Narayan and Shweta Agrawal’s relationship hit a bump in the road on Wednesday night at a private dinner hosted by Sunidhi Chauhan for the recording of her song with Enrique.

Aditya and Shweta are both trying to make a niche for themselves in Bollywood; they acted together in Vikram Bhatt’s Shaapit last year.

After being in love for a year, there seems to be trouble in paradise for Udit Narayan’s son, Aditya, as he publicly squabbled with girlfriend Shweta.

They then proceeded to take their fight outside the restaurant and Chauhan followed suit to separate the two.

Our source describes the incident, telling us, “It was very evident that something was wrong between the two, as they looked irritated.

The private dinner was hosted by Sunidhi as she had just completed her international album with Enrique.

She invited her close friends, which included Shefali Zariwala, Hard Kaur, Shriya Sharan, Aditya and his girlfriend Shweta for a celebration dinner. When the fight between Aditya and his girlfriend got out of hand, they left and started fighting outside the restaurant at Oshiwara.

That’s when Sunidhi also rushed out and took control of the situation, before it got out of hand. Aditya and Shweta left separately.
