Hollywood hottie Leonardo Di Caprio was recently spotted puffing away on an electronic cigarette. The actor is trying to give up his nicotine addiction and even advocated the use of the e-ciggie during the promotions of his last film, saying it “feels like the real thing but it ain’t.”

Sonam Kapoor is also advocating not smoking and recently took to Twitter to highlight electric cigarettes. She posted this comment: “Smoking is seriously not good! There are electric cigs available now. A lot of my friends are using it.”

Says Sonam, “I know of people who smoke e-ciggies to give up smoking or cut down on the number of cigarettes per day. I am no expert in the matter, but I feel anything that takes you away from the ill-effects of smoking is a good thing. I find it ridiculous that the government has a problem with smoking on screen, but isn’t ready to do anything about the social effects of smoking off screen. I think it’s extremely rude for anyone to blow smoke or smoke around a non-smoker. I have grown up reading Ayn Rand and watching pop culture that shows it’s ‘cool’ to smoke. I am okay with playing a character that is required to smoke on screen, but I want to do everything possible to tell people how bad this habit is. In today’s age, every one wants to look good and feel good, so I feel that lot of youngsters who do yoga, or pilates or find a holistic way of life will want to give up smoking.
