BOMBAY TIMES (June 15, 2012)

From the time she first decided to turn author, it has taken Diana Hayden two and a half years to put together her first book A Beautiful Truth. When she released the book in the city a few days ago, the beauty queen couldn’t help compare the moment to the time when she’d won the Miss World crown. “I can’t stop grinning. It reminds me of the time I won the Miss World crown, and what I felt the next morning when I woke up,” she said, adding, “People take nine months to have a baby; I took two and a half years. My heart and soul, and my sweat and blood has gone into this.”

This book on grooming, she says, is replete with tips as well as anecdotes from her own life – from when she was struggling to the time she won the Miss World title and later her experience in the Bigg Boss house. Diana also added, “I’ve self-published the book since I wanted total control. It’s exactly what I wanted it to be. There are also instances from my struggling days when I had no money to do make-up to the time I won the Miss World crown and my time in the Bigg Boss house too.”

The book, Diana said, has advice for women of all ages, and it will help them in grooming themselves from head to toe. She explained, “The book has nine detailed chapters on grooming, and talks about everything from your clothing to your body shape, your dressing, your skin type, your hair type, etc. In the book, I tell you how to determine your eye shape and do your make up accordingly. Hurt by rumours that paint her as a heartless daughter, Diana Hayden talks about the bond she shares with her dad…

Shaheen Sheikh (BOMBAY TIMES; March 28, 2011) It was a hectic week for city girl and former Miss World Diana Hayden, who was in Hyderabad on Wednesday to lend her support to a charity for critically-ill children. But as the beauty queen was on her way back to Bangkok to resume shooting, rumours began to fly fast and furious about how she left without visiting her ailing father, who had just suffered a massive heart attack and was admitted to a city hospital. Detractors also went to town about how Diana, who allegedly parted ways with her dad years ago, does not help him financially even though he is not well off. Clearing the air, a rather distraught Diana, gets candid as she speaks about her life, relationships and career.

It has been alleged that you didn’t meet your critically ill father or foot his bills… What was said about me was nasty, cruel and unnecessary. I was on my way to Bangkok when my father was taken to the hospital. If this had happened while I was in Hyderabad, it would have been ridiculous of me to not have changed my flight. It is an emotional situation. It leaves me helpless and frustrated. But making a choice to come back to Hyderabad now is tough. It will disrupt shooting which has already fallen back and the whole team will be affected by my absence. I may be perceived as selfish, but my being home More >
