I’m up for grabs now-Jackky Bhagnani
0The actor is on cloud nine these days
Bina Trivedi (BOMBAY TIMES; April 11, 2011) Jackky Bhagnani is relieved. His second release F.A.L.T.U. opened to good collections and is moving steadily forward in the second week after its release.
Says the actor, “The success of my second film is a weight off my shoulder. If my dad (Vashu Bhagnani) wishes to make another film for me, I will be overjoyed. However, I would not put forward a request to him asking for the same. From now on, I’m on my own; in the sense, my family will always be by me, but now I’m up for grabs by the industry like any other star my age. And, Bollywood will give me the opportunities I deserve.’’
Having signed two more films, Jackky is actually on cloud nine. He feels it is all surreal. “Now I know what people mean when they say that their phone has not stopped ringing,’’ he smiles.
Ask Jackky who are the guys whose messages and compliments he cherishes and he says, “Abhishek Bachchan called to wish me luck on the day of my release. I truly appreciate his gesture because he, too, had a release on the same day. I have always loved Abhishek and this was one big moment for me.”
Apparently he got a message from his screen idol Hrithik Roshan as well. “Hrithik is God,’’ he says. “His message had me over the moon. And I was also very happy when filmmaker Siddharth Anand said he was completely surprised by my performance.”
And, of course, then there is Arjun Rampal who said More >
I love the ‘luv storys’-Sammir Dattani
0Sammir Dattani’s on cloud nine. The actor is super thrilled with the audience’s response to his latest release I Hate Luv Storys (IHLS). Sammir, who made his debut with a Rajshri film and was later seen in the critically acclaimed Mukhbir, is very pleased with the was his career is shaping up. Earlier this year he was seen in Shyam Benegal’s Well Done Abba, and in his recent release, he wears his heart on his sleeve to woo his lady love Sonam Kapoor in style.
A Shyam Benegal film and a Karan Johar release in the same year has been extremely exciting for him. “Last year I told a friend that I want to do a Dharma film and work with Sonam Kapoor. I didn’t expect both things to happen together,” he says.
Speaking about his character Raj in IHLS, he says, “Who would not like Raj? He’s your quintessential lover boy and a perfect catch. Sonam and I play Raj and Simran — the perfect couple a la Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. That was really special since DDLJ is among my all time favourite romantic films.” So did he take inspiration from Shah Rukh Khan for his character? “No, I play an investment banker. He comes from a corporate background, dresses formally. Also our director Punit Malhotra knew exactly what he wanted so I didn’t need to look anywhere for inspiration. But yes, I do go down on my knees and sing Tujhe dekha to yeh jaana sanam to Sonam in our opening scene. I was so anxious about the idea of singing impromptu on screen,” he More >

The interesting part of the re-recording, which was originally composed by Kalyanji-Anandji, is that director Sajid Khan too sang a few lines of the song along with Mika. The remixed version is composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy.
Sajid says, “I had sung a few lines of Mast Kalandar in my first film as a director, Heyy Baby. So I was asked to pitch in as the lucky mascot for Apni to jaise taise too. We have completely redone the original song. However, if Kalyanji-Anandji were alive, they would be very happy with what we have done with their song.”
Commenting on Jacqueline finally bagging this chartbuster, Sajid says, “We wanted a relatively fresh, untried face for the song. Both, Farah, who is going to choreograph the number, and me, thought that More >

Shah Rukh Khan got married again yesterday at a five-star hotel in Ahmedabad to 20-year-old Tillana Desai. Wait, don’t jump to conclusions, it was a mock wedding that SRK impulsively thought up to pacify the girl who is in love with him. SRK was promoting his film My Name is Khan and didn’t think he’d run into a girl, dressed up as a bride, who also wanted her name to be Khan!
Our source said, “At his film’s event, SRK had to meet people with unusual love stories. Among the crowd, was 20-year-old Tillana Desai, who had come dressed in full bridal finery. When SRK asked her about her love story, she said she had been in love with a guy since she was seven but can’t marry him as he is already married.
When SRK asked her who the guy was, he was surprised to know that he was the man in question. She also said that she only uses the products that he endorses and refuses to buy anything else. The girl insisted that SRK should marry her. SRK used his million-dollar charm to overcome the awkwardness. The girl had even brought a ring with her. He went down on his knees and slipped the ring on her finger, saying that this is their rehearsal for the wedding.”

Minissha Lamba is on cloud nine – last month, she finally bought her first house, a three-bedroom flat at Raj Classique in Andheri, where Bollywood celebrities Priyanka Chopra, Shahid Kapoor, Abbas Tyrewala and Satish Kaushik will be her neighbours. Says an excited Minissha, “I have been house hunting for the last six months. I had scanned the whole of Yari Road, Four Bungalows and the Versova stretch, but couldn’t find what I wanted. I was so tired by the exertion that at one point I thought of just giving up. However, I never thought of looking in this building because I never thought it would have a flat for sale. It was sheer chance that I happened to see this flat. The moment I saw it, I fell in love with it. Being single in the city, it is very important to have your own place. I am planning to do the interior design myself.

Gauhar Khan on cloud nine after Rocket Singh
0By IANS (Mid-Day; December 17, 2009)
Model-VJ Gauhar Khan says she believes playing the lead does not mean being paired romantically opposite the hero but being integral part of the film’s plot.
She plays a receptionist of Ranbir Kapoor’s sales office in ‘Rocket Singh – Salesman of the Year’ which released last week.
Gauhar says that even though she is not romantically paired opposite Ranbir, she has most of her scenes with the Bollywood’s latest heartthrob. “our characters shared a close bond in the film,” she said.
Gauhar was participating in ‘Jhalak Dikhla Ja’ reality dance show when she was called for auditions for the film. “I went through five auditions before being selected for the role of Koena, a middle class fashionable girl, in the film. She is naive and also emotional. There were many layers in the character and I got an opportunity to showcase my acting skills,” Gauhar said.
Filmmaker Yash Chopra complimented me for my performance and that was the icing on the cake amid all adulation and good reviews, she said. ‘Rocket Singh’ is writer Jaideep Sahani’s vision and executed by director Shimit Amin, Gauhar said adding that playing her character in the film was tough but the duo made it easier. “They made me aware of the depth of Koena’s character,” she said.
Gauhar hopes to be romantically paired with Ranbir in future. “He is a calm and a good person and a thorough professional,” she said.
The actress says she has firmly set her sights on Bollywood More >
It’s a boy for Perizaad
0Perizaad Zorabian is on cloud nine as her wish has come true. She gave birth to a healthy baby boy at 11.30 am yesterday.
After marrying Boman Irani in 2006, Perizaad had their first child, a daughter named Zaha, in November 2007. When Mumbai Mirror broke the news of her second pregnancy earlier this year in July, Perizaad had said, “Daughters are darlings and I have experienced that. Perizaad and Boman took the Hindu and Parsi calendars into account and settled on an auspicious date for the caesarean operation to be carried out. Perizaad is very happy. Her family is now complete. Hema Malini's film starring Esha progresses
0Hema Malini’s long awaited production for daughter Esha finally sees the light of day
By Subhash K Jha (MUMBAI MIRROR; October 05, 2009)The long-in-the-pipeline film, which Hema Malini wanted to produce for her daughter, Esha is finally taking shape.
Tentatively titled Tell Me Oh Khuda, the film will have a girl (Esha) in search of her father. Arjan Bajwa will play the role of her supportive boyfriend.
Hema Malini with Esha
The subject seems uncannily similar to Hema’s first and only directorial venture, Dil Aashna Hai where Divya Bharati played a girl in search of her mother. Shah Rukh Khan had played the supportive boyfriend in the earlier film.
Arjan, who is thrilled to be working in Hema’s film, says, “When we met I was numb. I just stared at her (Hema). When she told me she liked my work in Fashion I was on cloud nine. Of course, I immediately agreed to do the film. It is Esha’s relaunch.”
The film will be directed by Mayur Puri who wrote the dialogue for Farah Khan’s Om Shanti Om. Puri was also the associate director for Dhoom. That’s when Mayur first met Esha and her mother. Tell Me Oh Khuda is now in the pre-production stage and is expected to go on the floors by the end of this year.
