Aditya Roy Kapoor turns hero in real life for Shraddha Kapoor
0Parag Maniar (BOMBAY TIMES; April 24, 2013)
Actor Aditya Roy Kapoor recently played hero — in real life — to his on-screen heroine Shraddha Kapoor. During the shoot of Aashiqui 2 in Cape Town (South Africa),the cast and crew of the film decided to explore the city one night after pack-up.
As they strolled down the local streets, a thief snatched Shraddha’s handbag. It happened so suddenly that she was too stunned to react. But an alert Aditya chased the thief, pinned him down retrieved the bag. A unit source says, “We panicked, more so because Shraddha’s handbag contained her passport and other important documents. The thief just grabbed her bag and melted into the crowd. Aditya was sharp enough to not lose sight of him.”
Aashiqui 2, produced by T-Series and Vishesh Films, releases April 26.
Aditya Roy Kapoor performs risky stunt on 21st floor sans body double
0Sonali Joshi Pitale (MID-DAY; April 4, 2013)
In Aashiqui 2, Aditya Roy Kapoor may look like just another mushy actor, but buzz is that he recently performed a rather risky stunt for the film.
Joining the bandwagons of actors who are rejecting body doubles to dot heir own stunts, Aditya apparently agreed to stand on the railing of a 21st floor balcony, that too without a safety harness.
A source says, “It was a very tall tower in Cape Town and even director Mohit Suri was sceptical about the act. Aditya has never done a risky stunt in the past, yet he refused to get a stuntman and did the scene himself.” The source also cites another instance when Aditya decided to take the plunge, quite literally. “We were shooting a rain sequence and the outside temperature was at two degrees. The actor had to sit on the terrace with his shirt off and get drenched in the cold rain. Though he was shivering in the end, he never once complained,” says the source.
Co- producer Bhushan Kumar says, “Nowadays newcomers are quite aggressive to prove themselves and Aditya also wanted to do the same and he did it with success.”
I’m emotional, but never show it-Deepika Padukone
0Deepika Padukone on being a heady cocktail of attitude, oomph, verve and vulnerability
Meena Iyer (MUMBAI MIRROR; June 30, 2012)
For the longest time now, Deepika Padukone has been living out of a suitcase, shooting movies at breakneck speed. Jet-hopping between Manali, Rajasthan, London, Kochi and Turkey, the actress is currently riding a wave because she’s got age, beauty, Rajinikanth, Ranbir and a couple of Khans on her side. She’s in the headlines now for her curvaceous figure and audacious act in Homi Adajania’s Cocktail.
Deepika speaks to us from Turkey, where she is shooting for her next film.
Do you have any shades of Veronica, the rebel girl you’re playing in the film, in real life? Veronica is a super confident girl who flaunts her attitude. She is affable, passionate and sometimes, is a fiery person who lives life the way she wants to and not the way society expects her to.
She’s had a troubled childhood, so it’s her escape in a sense. Veronica has difficulty in expressing her deepest feelings. She will never show herself as vulnerable or weak. Am I anything like Veronica in real life? Partly yes and partly no. I’ve had a very simple, protected middle class upbringing. In my family, relationships and marriages have been rock-solid and so I grew up in a very happy, stable environment unlike Veronica. I was, and sometimes still am, very shy and an introvert. Some people misunderstand my shy nature and think I’m snooty. But I must confess that around my close More >
Deepika Padukone’s escapade gives producer the jitters
0Mehul S Thakkar (MUMBAI MIRROR; May 31, 2012)
Cocktails are said to bring out one’s wild side. And thus, working in a film titled Cocktail, Deepika Padukone got a bit more adventurous than her normal self. In fact, when her trysts started bordering on dangerous, co-producer Dinesh Vijan of Illuminati Films, had to warn her and ask her to stay away from such things till the shoot got over.
It so happened that after shooting for a song all night for Homi Adajania’s Cocktail in Cape Town, Deepika decided to drive out to the beach early in the morning. And on reaching the sea, she instantly decided to set off on a Great White Shark cage dive with her director. But what looked like fun from the sand, transformed into a task at sea.
When contacted, Homi told Mirror, “Once out in the ocean, we got into a pretty unconvincing cage with these massive white sharks brushing and bumping against it. The water was freezing. We had to wear tight hoodies that made us look like muppets. But Deepika is something else. She enjoys confronting her fears and never hesitates to jump into the deep end.”
Apparently, while shooting for the song Tum Hi Ho Bandhu in Cape Town, Deepika and Homi would just take off for impromptu adventures. When Dinesh came to know about this, he as the producer of the film got worried about either of them getting injured. When contacted, Dinesh laughed and said, “Homi is a very unpredictable guy and he made both my actresses jump out of a plane. So we warned him More >

0By Joginder Tuteja, April 19, 2010 – 13:56 IST
Recently it was reported that Sanjay Dutt is booked till 2011 with multiple projects in floors. Understandably so since he is the only veteran star from the generation of Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Sunny Deol and Mithun Chakraborty, who continues to have a huge fan following and can get audiences rooting for him if he really wishes so.
However, what also remains true is the fact that he is only star amidst other major actors who has the biggest line up of pending/stuck/almost shelved projects up his plate.
The situation today is that Sanju baba has close to a dozen odd projects that are still waiting to reach the deadline in spite of their target release timeline left behind long back.
Joginder Tuteja brings to you the status of where each of these films stand, what their makers have to say, whether these films will ever see the light of the day and if so, then when?

Emraan spending quality time with Shella?
0// // // Emraan Hashmi has found a friend in South African supermodel Shella Alan and allegedly, has been seen spending quality time with her.
Shella was also seen in a miniscule role in Suparn Verma’s Acid Factory. She plays Emraan’s love interest, apart from debutante Neha Sharma, in Mohit Suri’s Crook. The cast and crew returned on Wednesday after a month-long schedule in Cape Town. A source reveals, “The Cape Town schedule was fun, where they worked all day long and the cast and crew partied on alternate nights. Shella plays a stripper in the film and was on the sets for around two weeks.”
Of course, pretty women are always part of the entourage on the film set. Shella is a local and played the role of a guide adeptly. The source continues, “Emraan and Shella got along like a house on fire and she accompanied the boys whenever they went out clubbing. She dropped in on the sets, even when she was not required and was seen chatting with Emraan. Her spending so much time with Emraan raised a lot of eyebrows. Everybody could sense the special bond.”
The bonding session will spill over to Mumbai soon. “Shella will be coming to India in the first week of April for the remaining shoot,” adds the source. Despite repeated attempts, Emraan Hashmi remained unavailable for comment.
