Watching Colors’ Bigg Boss on my TV screen as an outsider, appeared to be a cakewalk. No wonder then, it would perplex me to see people breaking into petty squabbles with housemates they’d have to bear for barely three months. Now, as an insider and having sampled what the BB housemates go through I empathise with them.
Imagine living with people of different temperaments and backgrounds under the same roof for 90 days. Would drive anybody crazy, right? And as Bigg Boss returns with its fifth season, you can be assured that the life for those locked in the house will no less easier than the last time around.
The living area has become smaller, ensuring that contestants who loathe each other keep bumping into one another ever so often. ‘Love or hate me but you can’t ignore me’ seems to be the mantra decided the design of the house.
The torturous jail is back (seems like a lot of notorious contestants walked away scotfree last season. Hai naa, Dolly ji?) The dining hall is separated from the house and sadly, the two rooms — pink and green — have been separated too. But one change that caught my attention was two chairs kept near the confession room that made me wonder if its for couples to cootchie-coo in a corner.
