Says Kajol, who is due this September. We wish her luck
Come September, when Kajol is due, you wonder if she secretly wishes for a son or a daughter. That she is as excited to have a daughter, as she is to have a son, is a pleasant surprise. Kajol says, “I’m just hoping for a healthy happy baby and a healthy happy momma to look after the baby. I’ve a wonderful daughter. How can I say no to another girl just like her? I don’t believe I need a son to complete my family. My sister Tanissha and I made a complete family.”
Kajol strongly believes that women should have babies when they are ready to take care of them. Kajol admits she took time to have a second baby only so she could give herself fully to mothering him/her.
Meanwhile, this time off from films may be a dampener for Kajol’s fans. “I enjoy doing just one or two films a year,” she says, “If I do too many films people would get bored of me.”
|Kajol with Ajay and daughter Nysa (Yogen Shah)|
Though her fans would disagree with that, they should not lose hope because Kajol is willing to do another film with hubby Ajay when the opportunity comes her way. But she clarifies that Ajay and she would not do a conventional film for sure. “We can’t be running around in a sarson ka khet together. I had my fill in Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge.” The owner of Maratha Mandir begs to differ, Kajol.
Talking of new beginnings, this was the first time Kajol worked with Kareena Kapoor. Glad to be working with an actress her age, Kajol was all praise for Bebo’s sense of humour. “Kareena is an absolute delight to work with and she has a sense of humour. If you’re working for 150 days with someone humourless it can get really tedious.”
And if you have a problem with that, well then it’s for you to solve. Says Kajol, “I’ve worked with dreadfully dull actors but I don’t get affected by my environment.”
The actress is choosy. But you wonder why she seldom says no to friends like Karan Johar. Disagreeing, Kajol clarifies, “I’ve said no to Karan for Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna. I don’t think I can give my best in an environment where I am not comfortable. Yes, there have been films where I’ve felt, ‘Oh my God what am I doing here?’ But I don’t regret them.” Optimism and happy thoughts… just what a to-be mother needs.

Well, it can now be comfortably said that Salman Khan and his composer duo of Sajid and Wajid are definitely a team. One look at the last few films of Salman and the declaration does come with a strong standing. Wanted, Main Aurr Mrs Khanna, Veer and now Dabangg – Film after film it is the same team which is coming together to get the music in place. Add to this the fact that this combination along with lyricist Jalees Sherwani has invariably delivered and you know that Dabangg too is in safe hands. What does one expect? Well, a mix of all genre of songs, something that was also the case with Salman’s last masala action entertainer – Wanted.
|BY BOLLYWOOD HUNGAMA.COM
Dabangg begins on a highly positive note with ‘Tere Mast Mast Do Nain‘ which is written by guest lyricist Faaiz Anwaar. This track easily sits amidst the best of what Sajid-Wajid have offered in their musical career so far. Easy on ears, extremely melodious, good pace and instantly catchy, ‘Tere Mast Mast Do Nain‘ has a Sufi base to it which is elevated to further heights due to one man – Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. His name spells quality and it is no different in case of ‘Tere Mast Mast Do Nain‘ which is all set to be a chartbuster and has en evergreen appeal to it. No wonder, not just it arrives at the very beginning of the album, it is also repeated in a duet version with Shreya Ghoshal (good again) and a ‘remix version’ (not really the preferred version).
An attempt to recreate the flavour of ‘Beedi Jalai Le‘ turns out to be just a good – not extraordinary – outing in the form of ‘Munni Badnaam‘. Lalit Pandit is the guest composer and lyricist of this song which has a UP-Bihar setting to it (which goes in sync with the backdrop of the film as well) and is sung in a rustic style by Mamta Sharma and Aishwarya. The lyrics, though definitely not vulgar, cater mainly to the gentry, what with references to Bipasha Basu as well as Bebo (Kareena Kapoor). A foot tapping (as is the ‘remix version’), a lot will depend upon how it is picturised on Malaika Arora Khan because in isolation, it is not the kind that has in it to cover a huge distance all by itself.
Well, if one thought that ‘Don’t Say Alvida‘ was the best that Sajid-Wajid, Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal had to offer to Salman in Main Aurr Mrs Khanna then watch out for ‘Chori Kiya Re Jiya‘. Boasting of simple lyrics by Jalees Sherwani (who takes over the scene from this point on), ‘Chori Kiya Re Jiya‘ is yet another winner that Dabangg can guarantee for itself. Melodious, sweet sounding and instantly bringing a smile on your face, ‘Chori Kiya Re Jiya‘ is the kind of number that ensures a comfortable hearing as well as viewing due to an intrinsic innocent appeal.
What is not so innocent though is ‘Udd Udd Dabangg‘ which is the kind of title song that is totally on the same lines as the one heard in title track of Omkara. What is also common is Sukhwinder Singh who was vociferous in Omkara but is hauntingly subdued yet powerful in Dabangg. It takes a couple of listening to grasp the mood of ‘Udd Udd Dabangg‘ and though it is not the one to be sung around, it makes for a good inclusion in the background score of the film’s narrative. Wajid too joins Sukhwinder for this rustic number that should auger well with Salman’s fans.
Just a few months back, music lovers were offered an energetic ‘drunken song’ in the form of ‘Taali Maar‘ [Veer]. In fact it was one under rated number that deserved to cover a bigger distance. An effort is made to create a song on the same lines, ‘Humka Peeni Hai‘, with Salman as the centre of attraction yet again. However, the results aren’t as exciting as ‘Taali‘ with ‘Humka Peeni Hai‘ turning out to be just about average. Wajid, Master Salim and Shabab Sabri come together to get the energy into the proceedings but somehow the tune by itself doesn’t excite a listener enough to play it over and over again, despite the arrival of a ‘remix version’ a little later.
The album ends on a high note though with ‘Dabangg Theme‘, which just like the ‘Most Wanted‘ track in Wanted comes with good enough ammunition to keep the listener hooked. Chances are that you have gone through the theatrical promo of Dabangg already. If so, there is good news because the same promo is heard in ‘Dabangg Theme‘ with even the dialogues being kept intact. For the fans and followers of Salman Khan, it is a much cherished added bonus to listen to some powerful dialoguebaazi.
Dabangg delivers what it promised. One expected a masala soundtrack and this is what one gets with a couple of item song sequences, a couple of theme tracks and two love songs which are actually the highlight of the film. A soundtrack that has something in store for mass (Munni Badnaam, Humka Peeni Hai) as well as class (Tere Mast Mast Do Nain, Chori Kiya Re Jiya), Dabangg should see good response at the music stands.

The actress will be seen with a pet dog named after the networking site, in Rohit Shetty’s Golmaal 3
Though not on any of the networking sites herself, Kareena Kapoor will walk around with a pet dog called Facebook, in her next Golmaal 3.
Apparently director Rohit Shetty has named the dog Facebook. The dog belongs to the Boxer breed and was seen earlier in All The Best.
A source reveals, “Golmaal 3 is funnier than Golmaal Returns, in which Kareena’s role was a spoof on Ekta Kapoor. In Golmaal 3, she plays a tomboy and has a pet dog called Facebook.
Kareena will sport a lot of t-shirts with funny one-liners written on them like, ‘Crime master gogo’, Mogambo khush hua’ to name a few.”
Rohit found the name Facebook ideal for the dog and thought it will be popular with the audience.

The source adds, “When Rohit mentioned the idea of naming the dog so, the entire cast was in splits but they all loved the idea.
In fact, the director has decided to name his first pet Facebook, if he ever keeps one that is.”
Whether Facebook will accept Kareena’s friendship requests, depends entirely on how good she is with animals.
Kareena ordered by KJo to drop a couple of sizes to romance Imran
Meena Iyer | TNN (BOMBAY TIMES; July 19, 2010)
Everything about the project is under wraps right now. But if there is one recent film announcement that has got Bollywood truly excited it is the news of Kareena Kapoor teaming up with today’s poster boy Imran Khan.
Bollywood is happy that there will be one more star pair for them to market. Yes, these very good-looking actors have been signed by Karan Johar for his Short Term Shaadi, a film that is reportedly on the lines of the Cameron Diaz-Ashton Kutcher romcom What Happened in Vegas.
A source says that the film is likely to go on the floors in the month of November 2010. And Karan and his core team have been in closed-door meetings about the look of the characters, the locations, costumes, etc.
While Imran said, “I’m not at liberty to discuss anything about the film right now.” Kareena too has been vowed to secrecy by the creative team. However, it is being said that Karan has reportedly asked Bebo to lose weight again. BT managed to get some inside details. A source said, “It is ironical. Kareena had just started eating to look slightly rounded because her boyfriend Saif Ali Khan is tired of her looking like a clothes hanger.”
The actress herself had confessed, “Saif likes my butt,” and got a lot of rebuttal from the press for “talking like that”. So she had immediately backed off. But the bottom line is Bebo had actually altered her diet. She was eating well and just when she was sinking her teeth into more wholesome food, news comes that Karan wants her to lose weight again and get back to being size zero. The actress has also been asked to apparently go in for a shorter haircut by the end of October because she has to match the light-eyed Imran perfectly. Will Kareena oblige? While she is not at liberty to talk to the press about Short Term Shaadi, one thing is sure — Bebo will comply with whatever Karan wants her to do. She has that killer instinct, and if she has to drop a size or two for a role, she will gladly do so. Saif, we guess, will have to be patient once again!
The actor, who is in Scotland, chose to watch Hollywood flick Knight and Day instead of Milenge Milenge that stars his former girlfriend Kareena Kapoor
While Bebo fussed over the line “They’re back together”, which Boney Kapoor used to promote Milenge Milenge, Shahid chose to go a step further. Much like an adult trying to dissociate with his embarrassing teen boy-next-door look, Shahid chose to overlook the release of the film in Scotland, while he was there shooting for his father Pankaj Kapur’s Mausam.
It’s a classic case of a now A-list actor disowning a film at the last moment. And when that film stars your ex-girlfriend, the problem gets even more grave.
We hear Shahid chose not to watch Milenge Milenge when it released in Scotland. Interestingly, Shahid went to watch the Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz starrer Knight and Day, which released on the same day. (Maybe Boney Kapoor should plan an action film with Bebo and Shahid the next time?)
Shahid happens to be a big fan of Tom Cruise’s films and was waiting for this one eagerly. But missing your own film for one that is likely to stay in theatres for a while? The irony gets better. Milenge Milenge was running at a theatre next to the one that was screening Knight and Day.
A source reveals, “Shahid was most disinterested with the release of this old film of his. This movie was stuck in the pipeline for a long time before it finally released last Friday. Shahid, did not promote the film either. He just did a video for the film which didn’t even have Kareena in it.
Any other actor would have definitely run to watch his film or at least to check the audience’ reaction. But Shahid chose to go watch the Hollywood flick instead. It clearly shows that he was not interested. In fact he should be happy that Milenge Milenge got a better opening than his last two releases Paathshala and Chance Pe Dance.”
When contacted, Nikhil Saini, executive producer of the film said, “I think we have done our bit for the film and we have released it like a full fledged fresh film. Some films work while some others don’t.” We don’t know about the audience but this one seems to have not worked with Shahid for reasons best known to the actor. Wonder if it worked with Bebo?
FENIL SETA SPEAKS:
Does the writer know that there are a number of actors who dont watch their own films at all? Besides, Shahid is in Scotland to shoot a film and not to holiday. The shooting schedule must be pretty hectic and whatever free time Shahid must have had, it is okay if he didnt see his own film (he knows its entire contents from start to finish) and instead choose to spend time watching another film. And what kind of genuine audience reaction is anyone going to get for a Hindi film in Scotland?!
… that two authors are writing on Bollywood’s current No 1 heroine
Meena Iyer | TNN (BOMBAY TIMES; July 13, 2010)
That there has been constant comparison between Bollywood’s reigning diva Kareena Kapoor and global style icon Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice), you know. Kareena’s size zero and Posh’s anorexic frame have been the topic of water-cooler and kitty party conversations for nearly three years now. But that publishers across the globe have taken note of this fact, is new. And it is being hinted that celebrated writer and leading columnist Shobhaa De (also a fashion icon) will write a book on Kareena which will tackle fashion advice exactly on the lines of Victoria Beckham’s Extra Half.
Also, it is being said that there will be a sequel by Rujuta Diwekar (Kareena’s dietician) to her first book on how Bebo ate right… and yet managed to be a size zero for the longest time. Rujuta’s book has inspired obese women across the world and the author recently flew to New York because a filthy-rich Kareena fan wanted her to personally supervise her diet plans. A source says, “Seeing the kind of feedback she’s been getting, Rujuta has decided to come up with a sequel to her diet book using Bebo as a role model.’’
Kareena is delighted with the news of the two books. However, she says, “I’m still to talk to the authors about what exactly the books would say. Ideally I’d like to give my comments only after I have had a conversation with them. I deeply admire Shobhaa De and I would absolutely value anything she does. However, I’m unable to say anything at this point. As for Rujuta, I have heard that her first book did fly off the shelves. I’m happy she is planning a second one.’’
For the first time in both their careers, the two would play lovers in Karan Johar’s next
Imran Khan’s undying wish to romance Kareena Kapoor will soon come true. On screen of course, lest we’ve got Saif worried already. A new film, still untitled, will be produced by Karan Johar and directed by Shakun Batra, which will have the duo in the lead roles.
Imran and Kareena would be working together in a film for the first time. Does maamujaan want to give his favourite nephew a few tips?
Our source said, “The film is scheduled to start in December this year and will apparently be directed by a newcomer, Shakun Batra who has recently joined Dharma Productions. Shakun, who worked as an assistant in Rock On!! and Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, has been a friend of Imran’s for some time now and it was Imran who suggested his name to Karan. Karan spoke to Kareena about it and she agreed immediately.
Kareena has always maintained that she will do anything for Karan and has never asked him any questions. The film will be an out-and-out love story.”
With willing friends working together, and no space left for arguments, the film couldn’t but be a love story, could it? As for the leading pair, Bebo and Imran are more than looking forward to act with each other. Confirms the source, “Imran had recently said in an interview that he would love to romance Kareena Kapoor and his wish has come true. And Kareena too has always maintained that she is also keen to work with Imran.”
When contacted, Imran Khan said, “Yes it is true that I am doing another film with Karan Johar. The film will be directed by Shakun but beyond that, I can’t confirm anything on the casting front. Shakun has been a friend ever since he joined the industry and was a second assistant director on Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na. He has written the script with our mutual friend Aayesha.
Karan Johar and Shakun Batra remained unavailable for comment.
The actress is very upset because the promos of Boney Kapoor’s Milenge Milenge seem to suggest that she’s back on track with Shahid Kapoor
Bebo is angry. And Boney Kapoor’s film Milenge Milenge is to blame. The film is finally releasing and the promos are on in full swing. But Kareena, the leading lady of the film, is upset about Boney Kapoor using the line `They are back together’ in the promos.
It is obvious that Kareena wants to stay as far away from her ex-boyfriend Shahid Kapoor as possible. Hence, something that merely suggests that she and Shahid were once together, has miffed her.
Kareena is also feeling cheated because she went out of her way to help Boney Kapoor finish the film. Our source says, “Kareena and Shahid broke up long ago and the film was stuck for various reasons. Before Boney decided to release the film, Kareena had to help him by completing the leftover dubbing. She also did a photo shoot for the promotion of the film so it does not look dated.
Shahid, on his part, shot for a music video. But Kareena was shocked when she saw the promos that read `They are back together’, as though reiterating the fact that they broke up and have now patched up.
|The credit card that got Kareena’s goat|
Kareena told a couple of friends that it was not fair that despite helping Boney complete the film and facilitating its release, he did this. She is pretty upset about it.”
Kareena remained unavailable for comment. However, when contacted, Boney Kapoor said, “There are all kinds of rumours floating about and there is no truth to this. Kareena even did a photo shoot with us and she has not said anything to me about being upset.”
Sharin Wader Butani | TNN (BOMBAY TIMES; June 21, 2010)
Ten years after they made their debut in J P Dutta’s Refugee, there’s the exciting rumour that Kareena Kapoor and Abhishek Bachchan might act together again. That they have not done another film with each other since 2000 is not because of a paucity of roles or offers from Bollywood to bring them back. The reason is more personal. Abhi’s broken engagement to Bebo’s sister Karisma in January 2003 led to a cooling off of relations between the Bachchans and the Kapoors. Naturally, filmmakers’ enthusiasm to see the hot young stars together dried up with that. But so much of water has flown down the Mithi River since then and both, Abhi and Karisma, are happily married now. So why should not he accept a role against the sister? And so, Sanjay Leela Bhansali (who has always wanted to work with Kareena and vice versa) is reportedly looking at casting Abhishek in his film Hira Mandi opposite the film industry’s leading actress. Bhansali will take up work on this film after he wraps up Guzaarish because, by then, Kareena will also be done with Ra One. Initially, it was thought the filmmaker might stick to Hrithik Roshan (his hero from Guzaarish) for Hira Mandi, but sources say Abhishek is the more likely candidate for the role. Incidentally, both Abhi and Bebo have admitted in separate interviews that if the right script came their way, they would be more than glad to work with each other.
The Kapoor kudis are both on diet…
MEENA IYER Times News Network (BOMBAY TIMES; June 16, 2010)
Spotted: Karisma Kapoor dressed in a bright red shirt, with kohl-lined eyes, huge solitaries blazing her ears, ordering herself a fancy meal at a new hip roadside cafe on Pali Hill.
Lolo had stepped out alone, yes, minus her two kids and her husband Sanjay Kapur. Her intention was simple — to spoil herself silly. As the rain poured down hard outside, Lolo decided to dig into a meal of her choice.
The reason this actress, who is usually very careful with what she eats, was eating to her heart’s content is because she goes into a strict diet for the next 11 days. On June 25, when Lolo turns 36, she wants to get into the designer outfit her younger sister Kareena has ordered for her.
While Lolo was dining alone at her favourite food joint, Bebo who is shooting Golmaal-3 in Hyderabad, was sulking. “God I’m missing Mumbai and I’m missing spending time with Lolo and my nephew,” she said.
Bebo who calls Karisma her size zero inspiration, had a surprise revelation to make. “For once, things are the exact opposite for the two of us. Lolo is trying to lose her post-natal fat; and I’m trying to put on a little weight. I want to be perfectly rounded. I’m bored of being too thin. And I actually enjoy eating at this neighbourhood cafe where you bumped into Lolo.”
