What is Chalo Dilli all about?
Vinay Pathak: Chalo Dilli is a story-oriented and content-driven film. It’s a story that characters tell because the situations move them forward.
Is it an out-and-out commercial film?
Lara Dutta: Chalo Dilli has more commercial content than any other commercial film.
What are the various locations in which the film has been shot?
LD: The film starts with two people trying to get from Mumbai to Delhi. We’ve also extensively shot in Jaipur, the Shekhawati region including Jhunjhunu, Sikar and that entire belt.
The two of you make for quite an unconventional pair. What do you have to say about that?
LD: That’s what the story is all about. In the film, we’re two as-different-as-can-be people on a journey together, but on a personal level, we are not More >
Katrina confirms her next with Salman

Finally, after much speculation over who the leading lady will be in Kabir Khan’s directorial next with Salman in the lead, Katrina Kaif has officially landed the role.
Salman Khan who had a few objections to Kat being in the film (Mumbai Mirror, March 29) has automatically resolved the same. A source close to the film confirmed, “Katrina and Salman are still very good friends. There is no animosity now.”
Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra were also being considered for the role. “But obviously, the role suits Katrina better. Moreover, having worked with Kabir Khan, she is Kabir’s favourite; they share a very good equation,” added the source.
All said and done, this year seems to be turning out really well for the Kaif girl. She now has a film with not just Salman in his post Dabangg glory but also with Shah Rukh to be directed by none other than Yash Chopra himself.
Katrina remained unavailable for comment when contacted.

Kunal M Shah (MUMBAI MIRROR; April 25, 2011) Looks like Kunal Goomer (left) and Rishi Kapoor have a common talking point in Ameesha Patel (right)Just five days back, Mumbai Mirror told you how Ameesha Patel was all set to try out her hands in production. Looks like the industry too wished with all their hearts for her success this time around.
Wearing a long red dress teamed thankfully, not with the Raveena Tandon signature red lips but very subdued nude makeup, the actress-turned producer looked really refreshing.
And her partner Kunal Goomer too looked the perfect metrosexual man, complete with a pink shirt.
An audio visual was played and the logo of their company launched to kickstart the party. And since almost the entire industry turned up, we bring you some of the pictures from the event instead.

One more producer announces Kaante 2
0An astounded Sanjay Gupta talks about the random producers announcing sequels to his baby project, Kaante
Kunal M Shah (MUMBAI MIRROR; April 25, 2011)
A few days ago producer Pritish Nandy announced the sequel to 2002 cult film Kaante. Now Uru Patel, brother of late Raju Patel (he was one of the producers of Kaante) has joined in the race and has announced his sequel to the 2002 hit film.
Interestingly, both the producers claim that their film will also have the same star cast. Sanjay Gupta, the original producer, writer and director of the film, seems to have no clue about such developments and is rather amused by these reports. In fact he himself has no plans to make any sequel to his super hit.
A bemused Gupta said, “At the rate at which sequels of Kaante are being announced, I would not be surprised if the spot boy who had worked on the film, will be the next one to announce another sequel. I have heard that success has many fathers, but itne sare najayaz baap paida ho jayenge yeh nahi maloom tha.”
Gupta further added, “I am amused. One should keep in mind that the film is written, produced and directed by Sanjay Gupta. I have the IPRS rights and I don’t know from where all these announcements are coming.
The first sequel, Kaante Reloaded turned out to be blank and it was announced by Pritish Nandy, who was just an investor in the film. I myself have no intention of making the film, as I have moved on. I am not creatively bankrupt.

Sreesanth, Shazahn seeing each other?
0After Riya Sen and Shriya Saran, Indian bowler Sreesanth has been painting the town red with Shazahn Padamsee
Vickey Lalwani (MUMBAI MIRROR; April 25, 2011)
Indian bowler who loves to dance in award functions, Sreesanth has recently been spotted getting a bit too close to Sharon Prabhakar and Alyque Padamsee’s daughter Shazahn.
The girl who made her big Bollywood debut in YRF’s Rocket Singh was seen painting the town red with the young cricketer.
On Friday, April 22, an eyewitness tipped off Mumbai Mirror, “Shazahn and Sreesanth have gone for a drive in South Mumbai. They are sitting pretty close.”
One must note that Sreesath who last played for Kochi against the Mumbai Indians at Wankhede, this IPL on April 15 has fallen in love with the city since then. He has been spotted in Mumbai on and off since the last match.
Shazahn too, has smartly kept away from the ongoing matches. Though the girl did meet up with her new friend afterwards. When contacted, the actress did not even deny it. She confirmed that the two had been driving around the city after the matches.
But when asked whether there was anything romantic, the girl promptly replied, “Oh, Sreesanth and I are just good friends. I am busy with my career. I am very much single. Can I call you back?”
Call back she did. And we asked her whether she found Sreesanth handsome. “Well, I can’t comment on that,” she quipped and quickly added, “He is sweet.”
Shazahn and Sreesanth were caught getting More >Sonam does rain song
0BOMBAY TIMES (April 25, 2011)
Sonam Kapoor is bringing back the rain song. The getting-soaked-in-monsoon scenes have been missing from our films. However, Sonam’s next Mausam with her co-star Shahid Kapoor will have one such sequence. They recently shot for it in Karjat. Shahid was concerned about her health after her recent bout of illness and was seen repeatedly asking if she was okay, and making sure that she was amply buffered with warm clothes and steaming beverages between shots. What is that they say about the rains being the most romantic device for bringing two people together? Post their splashy shindig on Tuesday and Wednesday Shahid and Sonam are now the best of friends and Pankaj Kapur is very happy. The chemistry between them has just improved.
The actress, however, was forbidden by doctors from getting soaked. She’d barely recovered from her 15-day rest after being hospitalised for nervous exhaustion. Her father Anil Kapoor is not too pleased about it. The most lethal way to develop an infection after recovery from a bout of exhaustion and fever is the dirty studio rain. The concerned father had apparently, requested the producers to postpone the sequence till Sonam’s immune system was back to normal. But the sequence had been postponed for a month now and Sonam didn’t want to be held responsible for any further delay. Producer Sheetal Talwar, “We were willing to push the rain sequence for her health’s sake. But Sonam More >
Salman launches Ready music with ageing studio workers
0Meena Iyer (BOMBAY TIMES; April 25, 2011)
Salman Khan was adamant about not wanting to launch the music of his latest film Ready at a five star venue. Earlier there were reports saying that the actor wanted to gift bicycles to some of the key workers/or their children of Mumbai’s Filmcity .
Now there is a slight change in plan. Today, the actor will have the music launch of his film Ready at Filmcity with the cast, the crew and all the staff members of this Government of Maharashtra run studio.
Salman’s logic is simple. Says a source close to the actor, “Bhai feels these are the guys who have been with him for the last 21 years. And he feels they have supported him unconditionally through his highs and lows. He just wants to reciprocate their goodwill and so besides giving them a surprise (obviously the actual plan cannot be revealed) he will also have dinner with them post the music launch.”
